Reno, Nevada, USA - Renovation, the 69th World Science Fiction Convention being held in Reno, Nevada, USA on August 17-21 2011, proudly announces the Renovation Independent/ Fan Film Festival 2011! Run by Nat Saenz, coordinator of the Tri-City Independent/Fan Film Festival (TCIF3), this innovative addition to Renovation in 2011 promises visual delights and opens up new dimensions in the creative options for Worldcon participants. Renovation's theme is New Frontiers, and adding this format for creative artists develops a new and exciting direction to Worldcon programming for attendees to enjoy.

Saenz brings an impressive resume to Renovation. He started making fan films in the early 90s and began organizing independent film festivals in 2000. He started the Radcon Video Festival in 2004, which evolved into the Radcon Film Festival by 2007. That year he received over 50 films from around the world. He became the media chair for Radcon and brought in many industry guests including Trey Stokes, John Hudgens, Dragon Dronet (Renegade Effects, LA), Rob Caves and crew from Hidden Frontier, Dead Gentlemen Productions (The Gamers) and Sean Kennedy (makeup artist, LA). In 2008, he combined the Columbia Basin Video Festival and the Radcon Fan Film Festival into the Tri-City Independent/Fan Film Festival with media guests Tim Russ (actor/director) and Andy Wolf (actor/director/producer).
