Analytical Corporate Valuation by Pasquale De Luca Pdf

This book integrates the models employed in the fundamental analysis of a company with the models used by investors in the capital markets to diversify risks and maximize expected returns. The underlying thesis is that the company creates value only if the return on capital invested exceeds the cost of capital, while the objective is to demonstrate how integration of the fields of corporate finance and asset pricing enables comprehensive and accurate company valuation. Companies can thrive only if they are able to create value for shareholders over time. A company’s value creation and the correct approach to its measurement require two main skills: first, the ability to analyze and evaluate the company’s fundamentals with respect to its business model and its performance over time; and second, knowledge of investors’ models with regard to risk diversification and return maximization from which the cost of capital for the firm is derived. Based on this perspective, the book combines rigorous quantitative analysis with effective use of graphics to aid intuitive understanding.

Dynamical Corporate Finance by Umberto Sagliaschi,Roberto Savona Pdf

The way in which leverage and its expected dynamics impact on firm valuation is very different from what is assumed by the traditional static capital structure framework. Recent work that allows the firm to restructure its debt over time proves to be able to explain much of the observed cross-sectional and time-series variation in leverage, while static capital structure predictions do not. The purpose of this book is to re-characterize the firm’s valuation process within a dynamical capital structure environment, by drawing on a vast body of recent and more traditional theoretical insights and empirical findings on firm evaluation, also including asset pricing literature, offering a new setting in which practitioners and researchers are provided with new tools to anticipate changes in capital structure and setting prices for firm’s debt and equity accordingly.

A Game Theory Analysis of Options by Alexandre C. Ziegler Pdf

Modern option pricing theory was developed in the late sixties and early seventies by F. Black, R. e. Merton and M. Scholes as an analytical tool for pricing and hedging option contracts and over-the-counter warrants. How ever, already in the seminal paper by Black and Scholes, the applicability of the model was regarded as much broader. In the second part of their paper, the authors demonstrated that a levered firm's equity can be regarded as an option on the value of the firm, and thus can be priced by option valuation techniques. A year later, Merton showed how the default risk structure of cor porate bonds can be determined by option pricing techniques. Option pricing models are now used to price virtually the full range of financial instruments and financial guarantees such as deposit insurance and collateral, and to quantify the associated risks. Over the years, option pricing has evolved from a set of specific models to a general analytical framework for analyzing the production process of financial contracts and their function in the financial intermediation process in a continuous time framework. However, very few attempts have been made in the literature to integrate game theory aspects, i. e. strategic financial decisions of the agents, into the continuous time framework. This is the unique contribution of the thesis of Dr. Alexandre Ziegler. Benefiting from the analytical tractability of contin uous time models and the closed form valuation models for derivatives, Dr.
