Anna Woman of Miracles by Carol Haenni,Vivian Van Vick Pdf

Anna Woman of Miracles is the story of Saint Anne, the mother of Mary and grandmother of Jesus. Though hundreds of thousands of worshippers celebrate her feast day, most know nothing of her remarkable life story; a story that includes her affiliation with the Essenes, the ancient Jewish sect that produced the Dead Sea Scrolls; her reputation as a healer, her three husbands, her lifelong and controversial interaction with a Roman legate; her role in preparing Mary to be the mother of the Messiah; and of her influence in the life of her grandson.

Anna’S Miracles by Anna B. Davis Pdf

Annas Miracles is the auto biography of my life. I have tried to tell the simple story of how my husband. Stuart and I, fell in love and lived an adventurous life. We were both raised on ranches in West Texas Hill Country and when we became adults and married, we moved out of our comfort zone and embraced a world far different than what we knew as children. We fi rst went to California, then to Washington, D. C., and later to other parts of the United States, including Alaska. My husband helped build a tracking station for the Air Force in Pretoria, South Africa, and in Alaska. Stuart was a Tech Rep for Philco/Ford Corp; and we went from one state to another as the job required. I was expected to set up housekeeping under various conditions, some were not so easy, like living in Alaska and having to commute from one island to another by sea plane.. Having to pack up and move whenever a job opened up even if it meant having to follow Stuart later and not move with him. We managed to stay together and make a good life for ourselves wherever we happened to be.. I have documented our many moves and our life as it fi nally settled down and we found home back in Texas to raise our two daughters. Stuart became a Space Scientist at NASA still employed by Philco/Ford/Loreal/Aerospace Division. In 1993, I was diagnosed with Stage IV, Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. The Doctors at MD Anderson Cancer Center found cancer in both sides of my backbone and bone marrow, fi ve tumors in my head, and 89 lymph nodes with cancer from the neck down. I entered a 10 year Clinical Trial, and I was the only patient to survive . My Doctor told me that My Jesus must have healed me, he could not explain why I was still alive. Our family faced many diffi culties during our life but we made it through by believing in God and trusting in Him . I hope my Journal brings hope to those who have diffi culties and think that they are alone. God is real and still answers prayers today.

Women and Miracle Stories by Anna Korte Pdf

This book contains a multidisciplinary collection of studies on women in miracle stories found in texts ranging from religious classics to contemporary literary fiction. Miracle stories are a genre of great importance for the study of women's religious inheritance and for the historical and cultural understanding of women as 'makers of faith'. Miracle stories are very generally speaking more open to popular religion and culture than, for instance, doctrinal and official ecclesiastical texts, and as such, they can be of special interest to the study of women's lives and religious aspirations. Remarkably, up till now this genre has not been looked at from this point of view. This book aims to open this field for further research by presenting case studies from diverse angles and disciplines. Some of the questions this book tries to answer are: What do miracle stories specifically tell us about women? Are there some (types of) miracles that are in particular related to (certain groups of) women? What do these stories tell us about women as performers and/or subjects of miracles? What can be said about the social function and religious meaning of miracles by specifically looking at the way certain groups of women are practising and experiencing miracles? By including research on miracle stories in contemporary fiction written by women this book also wants to acknowledge and research the disputed status of 'miracles' as well of 'women' in our present society which is moving from modernity to post-modernity. Please note that Women and Miracle Stories is previously published by Brill in hardback (ISBN 90 04 16681 8, still available).

The Holy Women Around Jesus by Carol Haenni Pdf

It is a little-known fact that as many as seventeen women, closely connected with Jesus, followed him to the cross. Who were they? And who were the other women who assisted in the preparation for the birth of Jesus, his life and the carrying on of his message after his death? This fascinating book by the co-author of Anna, Woman Of Miracles, draws upon two sources: the psychic readings of Edgar Cayce and the profound visions of a German nun, Anne Catherine Emmerich (1774-1824). Cayce's readings of the Akashic record identified many of the holy women around Jesus in the past-life readings giving intimate details of lives long ago not recorded in biblical texts. Emmerich's visions, known to give unique insights into the life of Jesus, provide added clairvoyant insights into the community that supported Jesus and his work. This book is fascinating, fresh insight into the life of Jesus Christ and the important role that women played in his mission.

Marvels and Miracles in Late Colonial Mexico by William B. Taylor Pdf

Miracles, signs of divine presence and intervention, have been esteemed by Christians, especially Catholic Christians, as central to religious belief. During the second half of the eighteenth century, Spain's Bourbon dynasty sought to tighten its control over New World colonies, reform imperial institutions, and change the role of the church and religion in colonial life. As a result, miracles were recognized and publicized sparingly by the church hierarchy, and colonial courts were increasingly reluctant to recognize the events. Despite this lack of official encouragement, stories of amazing healings, rescues, and acts of divine retribution abounded throughout Mexico. Consisting of three rare documents about miracles from this period, each accompanied by an introductory essay, this study serves as a source book and complement to the author's Shrines and Miraculous Images: Religious Life in Mexico Before the Reforma.

Anna, the Voice of the Magdalenes by Claire Heartsong Pdf

In this channelled sequel to the international bestseller Anna, Grandmother of Jesus, we journey with Anna, the Holy Family and 18 other Magdalene–Essenes as they travel to France and Britain after Jesus’s crucifixion and resurrection. This book gives a completely new perspective on the gnostic Mount Carmel Essene mystery school, in which Jesus and Mary Magdalene took initiations, as well as on the Holy Family and the Magdalene Order. Through Claire Heartsong, Anna tells not only the story of Jesus, but also the story of the women who surrounded him throughout his life. The book reveals the deeper mysteries they have safeguarded for aeons of time, including aspects of Jesus’s personal life not recorded in history – his relationships and, most radically, his offspring. In this one-of-a-kind story, Claire shares the information she received from Anna on the ‘Seeding of Light’ – the dispersion of Anna, Mother Mary and Jesus’s enlightened descendants whose ‘bloodline’ acts as a living catalyst for the awakening of the Christ–Magdalene potential today. Not only does this book give a new view of the Christ drama 2,000 years ago but, more importantly, it offers the potential to lift the suppressed Divine Feminine voice in our time.

Frank Wisbar by Henry Nicolella Pdf

German director Frank Wisbar (1899–1967) had the misfortune of achieving success as a filmmaker just as Hitler came to power. While critics praised his work, Nazi cultural watchdogs were scornful of his attempts to chart “the landscape of the soul” in films like Ferryman Maria (1936) and Anna and Elisabeth (1933). Wisbar fled to America, where Hollywood saw him as no more than a technician, good for churning out low-budget horror like Strangler of the Swamp (1945) and Devil Bat’s Daughter (1946). A successful stint in early television allowed him to return home to a very different Germany, where he abandoned his earlier mystical themes to tackle questions of war and peace, tabloid journalism and racial conflict. The author examines the films and career of an under-appreciated auteur who ultimately lost faith in his own vision.
