Anointed Leadership by Joe Dickinson Pdf

It is not uncommon for a Christian to want to accomplish great things for God. And so, in our zeal and passion for him, we set out to do just that. While there is certainly nothing wrong with such a mission, many Christians are faulty in the way to go about it. Too many set out with a zeal to accomplish something great for God without first submitting themselves to be the type of vessel through which God can do something great. There is a great difference in wanting to be used and wanting to be usable. One relies on self: talent, title, personal strengths. The other relies on Almighty God. And as talented as a person may be, his or her gifts pale in comparison to the power of God and what he could do through them, if they would only submit to him and his ways. The world needs more people through whom God can pour himself. Churches need men and women who are willing to trust in God and be greatly used of him. Homes need fathers and mothers who rely more heavily on the power of God to sustain them than they do their own muster. Our generation needs people who will wait on God to make them usable before setting out to accomplish greatness in their own strength.

The Steward Leader by R. Scott Rodin Pdf

Coach. Entrepreneur. Mentor. Executive. Servant. Visionary. Everyone has a different idea of what a leader should be. How can any one person be everything? Scott Rodin brings unity and clarity to this confusing, demanding picture of leadership. He offers a comprehensive model that brings together a biblical understanding of holistic stewardship with the best in leadership studies. Whether in churches, not-for-profit ministries or in business the need for sound leadership is readily apparent. Drawing on his years of experience in development and fundraising and his extensive theological training, Scott Rodin offers a new paradigm--a transformational approach to leadership that is biblically sound, theologically rich and practically compelling.

The Lord's Anointed by Philip E. Satterthwaite,Richard S. Hess,Gordon Wenham Pdf

At the heart of the earliest Christian self-understanding, explicit or implicit in much Christian use of the Old Testament, and crucial for Christian theology and interpretation, the concept of 'messiah' in the Old Testament has, however, been eclipsed by the pursuit of other goals in the Old Testament studies. Few recent sustained treatments have appeared from any school of thought. The Lord's Anointed aims to redress the balance. It also recognizes that the study of this topic must always be contemporary: Old Testament studies have changed dramatically in recent years, giving rise to new challenges as well as new opportunities for Christian reading of it.

Ethical Exploration in a Multifaith Society by Catherine Shelley Pdf

This book considers the theory and application of ethics for a multifaith society. Much ethics taught in the UK has been dominated by Christian ethics, their relation to secularism and by the Enlightenment’s reaction against theology as a basis for ethical thought. In contrast to these perspectives this book brings secular and theological ethics into dialogue, considering the degree to which secular ethics has common roots with theological perspectives from various traditions. The book assesses the application of ethical and theological principles in today’s multifaith society. Aiming to enhance ethical understanding and awareness across divergent worldviews, identifying at what points divergence does occur, the author examines topics such as reason and ethics in theology, natural law, utilitarianism and deontology and differences of approach to interpreting religious scriptures. The focus on ethical methods is illustrated through topical concerns in religion and ethics, for example sexuality, marriage and education and religion in relation to global ethics and human rights.

Growing the Church in the Power of the Holy Spirit by Brad Long,Paul K. Stokes,Cindy Strickler Pdf

Is something crucial missing from your congregation's programs? Beneath the surface of churches' programs and activities lies the fundamental question of how leaders and churches can be enabled to discern and obediently cooperate with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. This biblically grounded book asserts that many leaders overlook the necessary precondition of cooperating with the empowering will of the Holy Spirit before putting their plans into action. Growing the Church in the Power of the Holy Spirit is a highly practical guide for nurturing relations between believers and the Holy Spirit, a process facilitated by seven dynamics: Love that draws us into engagement Faith and obedience Receiving divine guidance Exercising spiritual discernment Welcoming the gifts and manifestations of the Holy Spirit Intercessory prayer that shapes the future Seeing and responding to kairos moments Advanced by the church leadership and brought into being by the Holy Spirit, these factors help congregations preach and teach, worship, heal, govern, make disciples of converts, and evangelize.

Bill's Bible Briefs by Bill Taylor Pdf

The information and teaching contained in this work is the accumulation of nearly sixty years of experience as a Christian, most of that time and experience in various leadership roles from youth group officer as a teen to church elder and assistant pastor. The author has been involved in numerous and varied denominational and nondenominational groups and churches and various moves of the Spirit of God within the Church. It is the authoraEUR(tm)s strong belief that ChristaEUR(tm)s return is coming soon and that Jesus is calling His Bride into a level of preparedness for that day that will change the Church. This work is a collection of papers written to address various issues and aspects of the Christian faith and walk. These papers were written at various times over many years, but primarily after 2015. Some were written from speaking notes or Sunday school lesson outlines. Others were issues that the author had observed were affecting portions of the Church or revelations he felt were from the LORD. Consequently, the subjects are eclectic and wide-ranging from spiritual gifts serving in the kingdom of God to child discipline; from spiritual warfare to basic spiritual rebellion; from the principle of tithing to small church groups. Consequently, the reader should review the list of titles and determine which topic or topics the Holy Spirit is directing him or her to read.

Ready or Not by Stacie G. Goffin,Valora Washington Pdf

Ready or Not made its mark in 2007 by boldly calling for a field-wide response to the question: “What defines and bounds early care and education as a field of practice?” A dozen years later, this question remains pivotal to the field’s understanding of its present and its aspirations for the future. In this updated and expanded edition, Goffin and Washington reunite to examine the major issues that must still be addressed if children are to be given more and better opportunities. This second edition will help everyone whose work impacts the ECE workforce, including those working directly with children, to deepen their commitment to adaptive and systems work and to develop the leadership capacity needed to become change agents. Ready or not, early childhood education needs to tackle its adaptive challenges. Nothing less will enable it to shift the field’s developmental trajectory, fulfill its potential, and satisfy its obligations to children, families, and society. “The second edition of Ready or Not is a reflective self-examination of the field of early care and education. It is a must-read book.” —Marquita Furness Davis, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation “Goffin and Washington boldly identify the barriers and opportunities we face.” —Anne Douglass, University of Massachusetts Boston “A must-read for those that are invested in early care and education.” —Tracy Ehlert, State Representative for Iowa House District 70, Cedar Rapids, IA “A must-read for everyone who is committed to the field’s success.” —Ariel Ford, Office of Early Learning, City of Chattanooga

Spiritual Gifts by Charles Elias Mahlangu Pdf

In Spiritual gifts: Church Under Siege, (This book is part of a 3-book series) Charles laments over how ministry gifts which were intended to prepare saints have been woefully neglected. He argues that believers are granted abilities and leaders are needed who are willing to invest in them. He moans that those with ministry gifts of the Lord Jesus Christ have behaved as if they are not committed to training individual believers. The Black pulpit has ignored the pews in the department of gift identification and developing. He pleads with the leaders as ministers of the Lord Jesus Christ to fulfil the number one functional dynamic in this life. In Your Gift from God the Holy Spirit Matters, (Book 1) Charles takes the reader on a hunt to explore how the individual believer is granted a supernatural gift. He persuades and convinces the believer to discover his individual strategic gifting. He defines and illustrates the gifts and tackles the controversial. Charles says Ministry gifts were given to prepare the saints for the work of service and not to do the work of the ministry. He shows how Pentecostal Evangelicals, Charismatic Evangelicals and Traditional Evangelicals have been uniquely gifted and what must be discovered at the individual level according to the divine strategy of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. In Spiritual Gifts: Welcome to the Church, (Book 2) Charles defines and describes each gift. He persuades the believer to connect with individual gifting, according to the will of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He urges that every believer is entrusted with a gift that can be known and used to benefit many.
