The Indescribable and the Undiscussable by Dan Bar-On Pdf

Serious difficulties arise when people try to make sense of their feelings, behavior, and discourse in everyday life and, especially, after traumatic experiences. Two groups of impediments are identified: the "indescribable" is demonstrated by a group of pathfinders working through their different maps of mind and nature; by individuals trying to understand and integrate a first heart attack into their previous life experiences. The "undiscussable" is highlighted in the intergenerational transmission of traumatic experiences in the families of Holocaust survivors and Nazi perpetrators. By providing a unique way of looking at life experiences, embedded in a variety of social contexts, this book suggests a new psychosocial theoretical framework which can be used by both laymen and professionals when confronted by troublesome issues that require acknowledgement.

The Indescribable God by Barry D. Smith Pdf

The God of classical Christian faith is radically transcendent--utterly beyond understanding and words. So if God is to be known it must be in the luminous darkness of unknowing. Drawing on a wide range of primary sources--biblical, patristic, and medieval--Barry D. Smith identifies and explores seven ways of expressing the otherness of God in classical Christian thinking. By allowing historical theologians to speak for themselves, he shows how an aversion to ontotheology long precedes postmodernism. The book first lays out the Old Testament and New Testament foundations for subsequent Christian reflections on divine transcendence. These were the teachings that the early church assumed and, with the assistance of Greek philosophy, further refined with their own set of apophatic conceptual tools. The main focus of the book is a sevenfold exposition of that theological refinement. Smith concludes by looking towards possible future theological developments within this apophatic tradition. Drawing on the theological methodology of historic Christianity, he indicates how a synthesis of the biblical teaching on the otherness of God with philosophical traditions other than those inherited from Greek philosophy is also possible.

Nothing will shatter her faith. Emberline’s life changes drastically when fellow Christian Thomas Yale offers her a chance to join the I AM Faithful (IAF), a resistance dedicated to spreading the word of Christ and providing sanctuary to all His followers. Indescribable Beauty, Immeasurable Worth by Jessica LaHousse Pdf

When Jessica and Derek LaHousse received a devastating, life-limiting diagnosis for their unborn baby, they embarked on a journey of choosing life. Instead of following the medical advice to consider terminating the pregnancy, Jessica and Derek saw their daughter’s life as a gift from God; a precious and innocent baby who deserved to be surrounded by love and given a chance. They opted to continue on despite the grim prognosis, and placed their trust in God’s sovereign hands. The remaining months of pregnancy were a whirlwind of appointments to monitor progress and planning for many possible outcomes. In an urgent attempt to save her from stillbirth, Tabitha Miriam LaHousse was delivered nearly two months early, on February 17, 2020. She was alive and already defying all the statistics for her condition. Over the next several months, Tabitha overcame many obstacles in the neonatal intensive care unit and ushered in a beautiful view of God’s heart and character in the process. This is a story, orchestrated by God, of a medically fragile baby girl and the family behind her that refused to give up. It is an account of all the miraculous and remarkable things that happened along the way that point to a good, loving, and merciful God who is faithful and worthy of our trust.

Indescribable by Deacon Francis G. King Ph.D. Pdf

When I was blessed with the gift of divine peace at the top of Apparition Hill in Medjugorje, Bosnia-Herzegovina, in 2010, I was told to write about it. How do I describe the indescribable? This book is the fruit of my submission to God’s will. It describes specifically how the three faculties of the soul: mind to know the truth, will to do good, and heart to love, are used to achieve such a peace. Our mind is tasked to know God’s Truth that He loves us more than we can ever imagine and His Goodness to us is beyond measure. With this knowledge in our minds, we must decide to make known God’s glory of Goodness and Love. Supported by this rationale, our will acts to bring God’s Goodness to others by deeds and words so that they will come to know Him. When we can feel God’s unique and personal love in our hearts then we can let His love shine through our hearts to love others so that they can choose Him. In this way, through His grace, we offer our soul (mind, will and heart) and body to do God’s will to save souls. We learn to seize His grace by making small acclamation of “yeses” to Him one decision at a time in our minds, one good act at a time in our will, one deed at a time from our heart for the love of God. These small “yeses” will grow to become habitual “yeses” as we progress towards abandoning our mind, will and heart totally to Him. When we conform our mind, will and heart to God’s will, we achieve peace in our soul. We can only do so if we let Christ live in us. In His will is our peace! (Dante, Divine Comedy)

Describing the Indescribable by Hsing Yun Pdf

The Diamond Sutra is revered throughout Asia as one of the Buddha's most profound expressions of the nature of reality. A gem among the vast Perfection of Wisdom literature, the Diamond Sutra elicits an experience of eternal truth through its use of a seemingly paradoxical style, as the reader goes back and forth between "what is" and "what is not." Master Hsing Yun skillfully plumbs the depths of the Diamond Sutra, illuminating for us its power to change who we are and how we interpret our world.
