Now We Set to Settle on Moon Chandrayaan Discovery Paves the Way Book in PDF, Epub and Kindle

Scientists have for decades contended with the possibility of water repositories on Moon. Now this decades-long debate is over. India's maiden moon mission—Chandrayaan 1—has evidence of water molecules on the moon's surface. NASA has confirmed this discovery. This book presents a detailed account of the journey of Chandrayaan 1—its launch, specifications, objectives, pay-loads and achievements. It also describes in detail the unmanned and manned moon missions of the Soviet Union and America. The possibilities and constraints of human settlement on moon find place in the discussion as well.

Moon First and Mars Second Book in PDF, Epub and Kindle

This SpringerBrief explores the technological, economic, physiological, and psychological comparisons between a journey to the Moon versus a journey to Mars, taking into consideration the national and international perspectives at play. The author spent over six years interviewing leading space experts from around the world to learn why lunar habitats and the creation of a permanent presence on the Moon are an essential next step to human exploration and settlement in space. Practical reasons related to energy, telecommunications and networking, robotic systems, medical and scientific research, material processing, and more show why it must be the Moon First and Mars Second. These findings and recommendations have been adopted by current NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine, as well as the current U. S. president. The research in this text reflects the author's experiences working internally within NASA Headquarters, the FAA Commercial Spaceflight Office, as well as the International Space University. It is partially based on Reneau’s award-winning Harvard thesis in conjunction with her Master's in International Relations.

Things Japanese Book in PDF, Epub and Kindle

Basil Hall Chamberlain (1850?1935) first encountered Japan on a journey intended to promote the recovery of his health: he had suffered a nervous breakdown while working for Barings Bank. In May 1873, he arrived in Yokohama, and was immediately fascinated by traditional Japanese culture. The drive for modernisation had created a need for teachers of English, and Chamberlain was taken on as a tutor in the naval academy, at the same time studying the Japanese language to such good effect that in 1886 he was made professor of Japanese and philology of the Imperial University (later Tokyo University). This book, first published in 1890, and going into six editions over the next fifty years, is in the form of an encyclopaedia, with topics from 'abacus' to 'zoology'. It gives an affectionate account of aspects of Japanese culture which Chamberlain realised were disappearing under the relentless impact of Western influence.
