How do you know God is real? Zierman explores the gap between our sunny, faith fictions and a God who often seems hidden and silent. She had grown up with a fire-filled faith, but by age 30 there was just a buzzing silence where God's voice used to be. She loaded her two small children into the minivan and headed south in a last-ditch effort to find the Light. Against the backdrop of gas station coffee and screaming children, Zierman learned that sometimes you have to run away to find your way home.

Will Nathan have the stamina, the courage, the willpower to pull it off? Read Night Driving and cheer for him as the pieces come together...or maybe cringe as they fall apart.
The Rules of the Road vs. The Laws of Attraction How do you spell disaster? For former army captain Boone Toliver, it's his sister's wedding to a man she hardly knows, and he'll die before he lets that happen. Boone has five days to get from Montana to Florida with an injured leg. And his only option is hitching a ride with his free-spirited neighbor, hairstylist Tara Duvall—whose body makes his mouth water and his libido burn. With each passing mile, the magnetic pull between them grows stronger, and Boone's trademark control is slipping away. But when his sex drive takes the wheel, will he be able to stop the wedding in time?
Journeys that begin in brokenness rarely follow a straight road to healing. There are twists and turns--and setbacks--on the path of repentance. Night Driving tells the story of a pastor and seminary professor whose moral failures destroyed his marriage and career, left his life in ruins, and sent him spiraling into a decade-long struggle against God. Forced to fight the demons of his past in the cab of the semi-truck he drove at night through the Texas oil fields, Chad Bird slowly began to limp toward grace and healing. Drawing on his expertise as an Old Testament scholar, Bird weaves together his own story, the biblical story, and the stories of fellow prodigals as he peels back the layers of denial, anger, addiction, and grief to help readers come face-to-face both with their own identities and with the God who alone can heal them.

Handbook of Driving Simulation for Engineering, Medicine, and Psychology by Donald L. Fisher,Matthew Rizzo,Jeffrey Caird,John D. Lee Pdf
Effective use of driving simulators requires considerable technical and methodological skill along with considerable background knowledge. Acquiring the requisite knowledge and skills can be extraordinarily time consuming, yet there has been no single convenient and comprehensive source of information on the driving simulation research being conducted around the world. A how-to-do-it resource for researchers and professionals, Handbook of Driving Simulation for Engineering, Medicine, and Psychology brings together discussions of technical issues in driving simulation with broad areas in which driving simulation is now playing a role. The chapters explore technical considerations, methodological issues, special and impaired populations, evaluation of in-vehicle and nomadic devices, and infrastructure evaluations. It examines hardware and software selection, visual database and scenario development, independent subject variables and dependent vehicle, environmental, and psychological variables, statistical and biostatistical analysis, different types of drivers, existing and future key-in vehicle devises, and validation of research. A compilation of the research from more than 100 of the world's top thinkers and practitioners, the book covers basic and advanced technical topics and provides a comprehensive review of the issues related to driving simulation. It describes literally hundreds of different simulation scenarios, provides color photographs of those scenarios, and makes available select videos of the scenarios on an accompanying web site, all of which should prove essential for seasoned researchers and for individuals new to driving simulation.

The Effects of Aging and Environment on Vision by Donald Armstrong,Michael F. Marmor,J. Mark Ordy Pdf
This book derives from a symposium conducted in San Francisco CA, entitled "Environmental Design for Optimum Vision in the Elderly" that was sponsored by the American Aging Association, October 11-12, 1985. Presentations from this symposium comprise the core content of this volume. However, manuscripts have also been accepted from additional authors whose topics and research findings increase the scope and goals of this volume. Previously unpublished data is found in several of the chapters. In addition new data and references have been incorporated at the end of chapters in order to provide a current update of the subject. The broad aims of the papers in this volume were to examine the effects of various environmental factors, long-term occupational hazards, and toxins on basic visual functions in relation to physiological, biochemical, morphological, and pathological alterations in the eye and visual pathways, and centers of the brain. As part of the more specific aims of this volume, the editors have provided the following framework for the specific topics included in this volume: I) Epidemiology, Clinical and Psychophysical Research, II) Ophthalmological, Biochemical, Physiological and Anatomical studies, and III) Environmental Hazards.
