And if you can't REMEMBER THEM... you're not going to MEDITATE ON THEM or USE THEM TO GUIDE YOUR PRAYER or USE THEM TO PROMPT CONFESSION, let alone consciously LIVE BY THEM! The question of course is what can be done about that? That's when I decided to try to MAKE MEDIDTATION ON THE TEN COMMADMENTS FUN.... simple little GAMES that help adults or kids jump start their ability to master the Ten Commandments in Luther's Small Catechism. I've found that if learning (especially for adults) isn't FUN, it's probably not going to happen unless some merciless task master is standing over people. But when that happens, they won't come back a second time! These games and activities let you engage the ten commandments in a way that that's interesting. It's not like a boring classroom. It's like an adventure... something fun to master! Kids (and adults) need a break from the lecture. This kind of break lets them review, learn the material from different perspectives, and keep immersing themselves in the study of the ten commandments while making it a "game".
