What God Wants by Neale Donald Walsch Pdf

Be careful. This book is dangerous. It explores with startling freshness the most important question you could ever ask, and offers with breathtaking courage the most extraordinary answer you could ever imagine. That answer is so theologically revolutionary and so spiritually empowering that it could change the course of human history. If embraced, it most certainly will change your life. There are people and institutions in the world, long in place and long in power, that want neither of these outcomes to occur. They would rather that you put this book down right now. It's up to you.

What Does God Want of Us Anyway? by Mark Dever Pdf

Originally delivered as sermons by pastor Mark Dever at Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington DC, these three studies are now available in one hardcover volume. Dever guides readers to take a step back and look at the Bible from a broader perspective. As we notice new features of an object when viewed from a distance, so too the major themes of Scripture become more apparent when we take in the Bible as a whole. Part of the IXMarks series, this book considers the central messages of the Bible as seen in the promises of God. Dever examines the general narrative of God's Word to answer the question, "What does God wants of us anyway?" Readers looking for a panoramic view of Scripture will be reminded of the faithful, persistent love of God and find themselves drawn into a broader, but deeper, understanding of the maker and keeper of promises.

What Does God Want Me to Do? by Clem Boyd Pdf

We all want a rich life. Not riches-but richness. Who really starts their adult life thinking, I just want to make enough money to pay the bills and retire in forty years so I can finally do the important stuff. But today, that may be exactly where we've ended up. What a gloomy prognosis for such a promising life. None of us start that way, and we shouldn't accept this as a reasonable view of reality. Especially as Christians, we should expect more. Much more. Jesus said, 'I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full' (John 10:10). In What Does God Want Me to Do? author Clem Boyd shares his experience and the experiences of others who've reached for that something more in their relationship with God. They've done so by wrestling with the non-God sources of strength and stability in their lives: careers, the opinions of family members, comfort, and predictability. This motivational Christian living book answers the questions of those in transition and awakens those stuck in a rut. What Does God Want Me to Do? proposes a viewpoint upgrade from 'working hard for God whatever I do' to 'doing whatever it takes to work hard for God.' Making this perspective real may mean altering our current lifestyles so we're even more available to answer the Lord's call. That's what Clem discovered. More and more believers are coming to the same decision. Maybe even you.

Does God Desire All to Be Saved? by John Piper Pdf

Are There Two Wills in God? Divine Election and God’s Desire for All to Be Saved In this short, theological essay, John Piper builds a scriptural case that God’s unconditional election unto salvation is compatible with God’s genuine desire and offer for all to be saved. Helping us to make sense of this seemingly paradoxical relationship, Piper wisely holds both truths in tension as he explores the Bible’s teaching on this challenging topic, graciously responds to those who disagree, and motivates us to passionately proclaim the free offer of the gospel to all people.

Supernatural by Heiser, Michael S. Pdf

Dr. Michael S. Heiser presents fifteen years of research on what the Bible really says about the unseen world of the supernatural, unfiltered by tradition or by theological presuppositions. Who were the sons of God? Who were the Nephilim? Where do angels fit into the supernatural hierarchy? What relation does Jesus bear to the rest of the supernatural world? Heiser tackles these questions and many more as he shines a light on the ancient context of Scripture. After reading this book, you may never read your Bible the same way again. In Supernatural, Heiser takes the core message from his recent best-seller, The Unseen Realm, and presents it for the person in the pew. He offers the same approach to reading and understanding Scripture, but without all the extra footnotes and supporting information needed for the scholarly treatment. “We can’t believe what we don’t understand. In Supernatural, Michael Heiser helps us to do both. It may open your eyes to the scripture in a new way.” —John Ortberg, author of If You Want to Walk on Water, You’ve Got to Get Out of the Boat

Does God Want Me Dead? by D. Scott Bowling Pdf

This book is a result of the spiritual lessons I have learned upon being diagnosed with a slow, progressive, and terminal illness. Once I was told I had a life expectancy of less than five years, biblical truths that seemed to be hidden to me prior to my diagnosis now seemed to pour off of every page. I was an avid Bible student and teacher prior to my diagnosis, but following my dire prognosis, I began to have a greater appreciation for the pain, suffering, and death of so many of the men and women that share their stories within the cover of our Holy Bible. The title of this book, Does God Want Me Dead, came first. The title is not intended to be sacrilegious, but other phrases seem to come woefully short of the question pressing upon my heart. Slowly, over three years, each additional chapter would germinate in my mind and heart and develop over varying time periods. My goal is always to handle Gods Word accurately and honestly. I know I will stand before God in a relatively short period of time to answer for each word I have uttered and written. My objective is to disseminate the truths that I have learned, first to my family and friends that will be most affected by my departure, and then to all the saints of God willing to invest a few hours of their time for their edification and sanctification. May Gods glory be high and lifted up in all things.

Angels by Michael S. Heiser Pdf

What does the Bible really tell us about the heavenly host? Everyone knows that angels have wings, usually carry harps, and that each of us has our own personal guardian angel, right? We all have some preconceptions about angels from movies, television shows, and other media, but you might be surprised to know that a lot of those notions aren't based on anything from the Bible. If you read Luke 1:26-38 and imagine the angel Gabriel standing before Mary with neatly folded white wings, you're not getting that picture from anything the Bible itself says. What the Bible really says about angels is overlooked or filtered through popular myths. This book was written to help change that. It's a book about the loyal members of God's heavenly host, and while most people associate them with the word "angel," that's just one of many terms the Bible uses for supernatural beings. In The Unseen Realm, Michael Heiser opened the eyes of thousands to seeing the Bible through the supernatural worldview of the ancient world it was written in. In his latest book, Angels, Dr. Heiser reveals what the Bible really says about God's supernatural servants. Heiser focuses on loyal, holy heavenly beings because the Bible has a lot more to say about them than most people suspect. Most people presume all there is to know about angels is what has been passed on in Christian tradition, but in reality, that tradition is quite incomplete and often inaccurate. Angels is not guided by traditions, stories, speculations, or myths about angels. Heiser's study is grounded in the terms the Bible itself uses to describe members of God's heavenly host; he examines the terms in their biblical context while drawing on insights from the wider context of the ancient Near Eastern world. The Bible's view on heavenly beings begins with Old Testament terms but then moves into literature from the Second Temple period--Jewish writings from around the 5th century BC to the 1st century AD. This literature from the time between the Old Testament and the New Testament influenced the New Testament writers in significant ways. With that important background established, the book focuses on what the New Testament tells us about God's holy ones. Finally, the book reflects on common misconceptions about angels and addresses why the topic is still important and relevant for Christians today.

Reversing Hermon by Michael S. Heiser Pdf

Reversing Hermon is a groundbreaking work. It unveils what most in the modern Church have never heard regarding how the story of the sin of the Watchers in 1 Enoch 6-16 helped frame the mission of Jesus, the messiah. Jews of the first century expected the messiah to reverse the impact of the Watchers' transgression. For Jews of Jesus' day, the Watchers were part of the explanation for why the world was so profoundly depraved. The messiah would not just revoke the claim of Satan on human souls and estrangement from God, solving the predicament of the Fall. He would also not only bring the nations back into relationship with the true God by defeating the principalities and powers that governed them. Jews also believed that the messiah would rescue humanity from self-destruction, the catalyst for which was the sin of the Watchers and the influence of what they had taught humankind. The role of Enoch's retelling of Genesis 6:1-4 in how New Testament writers wrote of Jesus and the cross has been largely lost to a modern audience. Reversing Hermon rectifies that situation. Topics include:* How the ancient Mesopotamian story of the apkallu aligns with Gen 6:1-4, was preserved in 1 Enoch, and sets the stage for the theme of reversing the evil of the Watchers* How the theme of reversing the transgression of the Watchers colors the gospel accounts of the birth of Jesus, his genealogy, and his ministry.* How the writings of Peter and Paul allude to the sin of the Watchers and present Jesus as overturning the disastrous effects of their sins against humanity.* How the descriptions of the antichrist, the end-times Day of the Lord, and the final judgment connect to Genesis 6 and the nephilim.Though every topic addressed in Reversing Hermon can be found in scholarly academic literature, Reversing Hermon is the first book to gather this information and make it accessible to Bible students everywhere.

What Does God Really Want? by Michael Trillo Pdf

Could stress be a warning signal that you’re not living out your true purpose? Research studies show that 90% of all doctor visits are caused by stress. Countless statistics and basic observation demonstrate that stress has become an epidemic in our society and may well be America’s #1 health problem. Ever wonder how much money you’ve spent attempting to medicate and eliminate the stress in your life? How has stress kept you from moving forward toward accomplishing your God-given dreams? How many years have you lost due to the claws of stress? When we are stressed, society has taught us to: sleep, eat, shop, watch TV, play video games, go to counseling, take medication, take a vacation, etc. This is like applying a band-aid to a broken bone. These solutions are temporary at best, a cheap and temporary promise of relief. Here’s what’s interesting. The majority of Christians, who profess to follow a supernatural God, are just as tired and stressed as the rest of the society. Doesn’t that seem strange? The Bible says that Jesus came to give us abundant life. We were meant to soar on wings like eagles. We were designed to live like we were more than conquerors. Isaiah promises that those who hope in the Lord will run and not grow weary, walk and not be faint. The Bible also says that we would do greater things than Jesus did. Believe it or not, there are actually Christians out there who have gone from being stressed and exhausted to living a life of strength and supernatural peace—all by discovering and living out their one true purpose. So… how do we go from being stressed to being more than conquerors? Here is an illustration to demonstrate the answer… Two men are driving to work one morning, each in their own car, taking the same freeway, going to the exact same job. One is angry and stressed due to the terrible traffic condition. The other is happy and relaxed, enjoying the extra time to sing worship songs and talk to the Lord. What’s the difference between these two men? Their purpose. The fact is, your purpose will always determine your stress level. If you are one who lives a life of stress, could there be a chance that you have fallen for a counterfeit life purpose? Here’s Michael’s story of stress: For years Michael lived a life of stress. Except, he fancied himself as one who did a really good job at “managing” the stress that accompanied years in a sales career. Then Michael’s life took a turn. He hit a two-year span where he moved his family five times, had four different jobs and lost thousands of dollars from a real estate venture. He also lost all of his equity from his real estate properties, got scammed from a franchise he purchased, accumulated debt and lost a loved one very close to him—all the while trying to provide for his wife and two children. In desperation, Michael lived on his knees, begging God for help. He buried himself in prayer and Bible study like he never had in the past. The main subject of his study was the subject of stress. Halfway through this dark two-year tunnel, the Lord revealed to him the counterfeit purposes that he had been living by, based on lies. Through the hardship of those two years, despair caused Michael to search for God’s power and intimate love. He realized that it was one thing for him to know about his heavenly Father’s love but it was another thing to believe and experience it. Michael learned that regardless of how much he wanted to get deeper in his relationship with God, he couldn’t move forward unless he discovered and released the lies that had been like heavy shackles in his life. Through Scripture, the Lord taught him life’s ultimate purpose and he, in response, took the plunge and immersed himself in this purpose. As Michael lived out this true purpose, he fell deeply in love with his heavenly Father. Stress unexpectedly lifted off his back. Peace and joy slowly consumed his very being. Though he was never pursuing peace and joy––he found that they came as a result of his time with God. Beyond not feeling the stress anymore, Michael noticed that there were some other significant differences in his life. Things that normally annoyed him now hardly bothered him at all. He had more energy and a love for life. Chronic illnesses disappeared right before his eyes. All of these benefits were results of Michael pursuing and living out life’s true purpose. Most churchgoers today have done their best to do the right things. With a robust spirit of self-determination, they go to church, pray, read the Bible and volunteer endless hours at their church–all the while truly wanting to know how to get close to God. But this pattern of self-determination neglects to show the fruits of one who is soaring on wings like eagles. They have unknowingly embraced counterfeit life purposes––based on lies––that have resulted in stress. Based on biblical principles, proven scientific research and medical evidence, What Does God Really Want is a groundbreaking book that shines new light on the root cause of stress. In this book, you will discover: * How to identify and avoid the four most common counterfeit life purposes. * Why stress is life’s great lie detector and alarm system. * The undeniable stress-health connection. * A scientifically proven and biblical method to overcoming stress. * How to go from just knowing to finally experiencing the Father’s love. * How God uses stress to direct you back to your true life purpose. * Seven practical habits for living the promised abundant life. Join Michael Trillo for a revolutionary way to look at stress and remove the lies that have prevented you from truly enjoying a loving relationship with your heavenly Father––the perfect and loving Dad that many of us have always wished and longed for.
