Like a Duck by Deborah Kerbel Pdf

From the author of My Deal with the Universe, a lighthearted, tender story of a girl and her steadfast duck. I spend a lot of time thinking about what Grandad said that day Webster first went missing. How if you spend too much time dwelling on the things you’ve lost, you might not notice what you’ve got in its place. And how sometimes those things can be just as wonderful. But in a different way. Sarah is turning twelve. For the last ten years, ever since her dad mysteriously left, Sarah and her mom have always celebrated together for an entire birthday week. But when Sarah finds out that this year her mother has to work, and that she’s signed Sarah up last minute for a week of culinary school instead, things go from bad to worse. At least the camp has agreed to let Sarah bring her duck, Webster. Sarah knows that with Webster by her side, she can handle whatever comes her way. But then Webster goes missing, just as Sarah’s search for her absent father comes up empty as well. Will she have to say yet another painful goodbye? In a story about love, friendship, search for identity, and the hardship of loss, Sarah finds joy and strength in unexpected friendships and learns that when we focus so much on chasing answers, we can forget to notice what we already have.

Duck Hunting in America by Steven Lahr Pdf

The title of this piece of work is misleading in many respects. You might pick it up and peruse it thinking that wow, its a new waterfowl book. Well, youll find some. The core and idea of whats inside in reality is somewhat disguised. The title in essence is a reflection more of life and with some different perspectives. The writer has deep love of the Art of Waterfowling. Hes also a bird watcher and a long time member of the Cornell Ornithology Association. (Many accolades to this organization!). Think of the concept of this title as whats written is more of a reflection on the writer himself. Get All Your Ducks In A Row and well attempt to embark on some inner meanings. Hopefully, it will grow. The first book, Rantings of an Ivy League Mad Man, has a parallel. Lets get out the decoys and sit tight as we watch the morning come to full light. If youve been there with your camo on, you most likely wont be bored. Hopefully, we pass on this tradition to those we love because of what happens to waterfowl and human beings alike. Im trying to pass on a message. Some may struggle making the connection between the book title and its content. I hope they persevere. Hopefully youll grasp the concept as it is. These arent necessarily poems. I call them po-ms for better clarity. Youll see why. Enjoy, Steve C. Lahr
