Count on Me by Miguel Tanco Pdf

A young girl sees the world differently in this beautiful picture book celebration of math. Everyone has a passion. For some, it's music. For others, it's art. For our heroine, it's math. When she looks around the world, she sees math in all the beautiful things: the concentric circles a stone makes in a lake, the curve of a slide, the geometric shapes in the playground. Others don't understand her passion, but she doesn't mind. There are infinite ways to see the world. And through math is one of them. This book is a gorgeous ode to something vital but rarely celebrated. In the eyes of this little girl, math takes its place alongside painting, drawing and song as a way to ponder the beauty of the world.

In Quest of the White Mandan by Cash Pdf

In Quest of the White Mandan is about the white people who became integrated into the native Indian band of North Dakota Mandans. In the Seventeen hundreds the French Canadian explorer La Veranday with his sons found a Indian tribe with fair skinned people blue eyes, blonde and red haired, living in what was later to become North Dakota. Many years later Lewis and Clark found these fair skinned people with the Mandans as they made their trip to the Pacific. I learned about these people who must of come from Europe hundreds of years earlier. How did these people make their way into the center of North America?? Some speculate that they were Welsh people who came up the Mississippi River. In Newfoundland Canada, the dwellings built by the Vikings at Lance Meadows and the house built by the Mandans are exact replicas of each other. The waters of Hudson Bay flow into it from waters that lead into Lake Winnipeg after a land bridge is crossed. The Red River of North Dakota flows directly into Lake Winnipeg. Many Viking remains and artefacts have been found in Minnesota and Wisconsin. If the Vikings who settled in Lance Meadows found their way north into Hudson Bay, losing their boats to ice could easily happen. The only way out of this desolate place is south into the interior of North America. In Quest of the White Mandans Book One, is my version of how these people came to be the White Mandans. I have brought them to the shores of lake Winnipeg in book one. God willing, I will take them further to their final home on the Missouri River in North Dakota in Book Two.

The Craft of Thought by Mary Jean Carruthers Pdf

The Craft of Thought, first published in 1998, is a companion to Mary Carruthers' earlier study of memory in medieval culture, The Book of Memory. This more recent volume examines medieval monastic meditation as a discipline for making thoughts, and discusses its influence on literature, art, and architecture. In a process akin to today's 'creative' thinking, or 'cognition', this discipline recognises the essential roles of imagination and emotion in meditation. Deriving examples from a variety of late antique and medieval sources, with excursions into modern architectural memorials, this study emphasises meditation as an act of literary composition or invention, the techniques of which notably involved both words and making mental 'pictures' for thinking and composing.

The Quest for the Diamond Sword (Deluxe Illustrated Edition) by Winter Morgan Pdf

A brand-new illustrated edition of the bestselling adventure novel by author Winter Morgan with 75 full-color illustrations. Perfect for every boy and girl who loves Minecraft! Steve lives on a wheat farm. He has everything he needs to live in the Minecraft world: a bed, a house, and food. Steve likes to spend his mornings in the NPC village and trade his wheat for emeralds, armor, books, swords, and food. One morning, he finds that Zombies have attacked the villagers. The Zombies have also turned the village blacksmith into a Zombie, leaving Steve without a place to get swords. To protect himself and the few villagers that remain, Steve goes on a quest to mine for forty diamonds, which are the most powerful mineral in the Overworld. He wants to craft these diamonds into a diamond sword to shield him and the villagers from the Zombies. Far from his home, with night about to set in, Steve fears for his life. Nighttime is when users are most vulnerable in Minecraft. As he looks for shelter in a temple, he meets a trio of treasure hunters, Max, Lucy, and Henry, who are trying to unearth the treasure under the temple. Steve tells them of his master plan to mine for the most powerful mineral in the Overworld—the diamond. The treasure hunters are eager to join him. Facing treacherous mining conditions, a thunderstorm, and attacks from hostile mobs, these four friends’ question if it’s better to be a single player than a multiplayer, as they try to watch out for each other and chase Steve’s dream at the same time. Will Steve find the diamonds? Will his friends help or hinder the search? Should he trust his new treasure hunter friends? And will Steve get back in time to save the villagers?
