The Boudoir Bible by Betony Vernon Pdf

A comprehensive and instructional guide to the new sexual landscape, covering "new territories" such as bondage, role playing, and sex toys that would make your parents blush. Since the publication of The Joy of Sex in 1972, the sexual landscape’s boundaries have been expanded to include a host of practices that are unthinkable in that classic tome. Although it also covers the basics, The Boudoir Bible fills those niches missing from other sex guides nicely, with full, elaborated chapters on rope bondage, restraints of sound and sight, erotic flagellation, and the stimulation of new erogenous zones, among innumerable other offerings. Well-researched, The Boudoir Bible is written from a joyful, sex-positive point of view. Going beyond the "lovemaking" of older guides, this witty and uninhibited tome expands the sexual act to encompass "verboten" topics, with chapters entitled "The Genital Gym," "Nipple Tease," "Male Ejaculation Control," and "The Anthems of Anal Sex." Illustrated by the renowned artist François Berthoud, whose provocative creations have graced both Prada campaigns and museum exhibitions, The Boudoir Bible provides a fresh view of sexuality in the twenty-first century.

The Beast in the Boudoir by Kathleen Kete Pdf

Kathleen Kete's wise and witty examination of petkeeping in nineteenth-century Paris provides a unique window through which to view the lives of ordinary French people. She demonstrates how that cliché of modern life, the family dog, reveals the tensions that modernity created for the Parisian bourgeoisie. Kete's study draws on a range of literary and archival sources, from dog-care books to veterinarians's records to Dumas's musings on his cat. The fad for aquariums, attitudes toward vivisection, the dread of rabies, the development of dog breeding—all are shown to reflect the ways middle-class people thought about their lives. Petkeeping, says Kete, was a way to imagine a better, more manageable version of the world—it relieved the pressures of contemporary life and improvised solutions to the intractable mesh that was post-Enlightenment France. The faithful, affectionate family dog became a counterpoint to the isolation of individualism and lack of community in urban life. By century's end, however, animals no longer represented the human condition with such potency, and even the irascible, autonomous cat had been rehabilitated into a creature of fidelity and affection. Full of fascinating details, this innovative book will contribute to the way we understand culture and the creation of class. Boudoir Art by Clifford P. Catania Pdf

The pictures of beautiful and powerful women by artists of the Boudoir art movement occupy an important place in the history of twentieth century art. The popularity of Louis Icart led less well-known French artists to create countless engraved works in a style similar to his. This new book resurrects the knowledge about these artists and their work. Beautifully illustrated in full color with hundreds of examples of Boudoir art, the book chronicles "major" and "minor" artists. While the greatest emphasis is on the wonderful Boudoir etchings, the book also covers Boudoir lithographs, which were also quite popular in their day. Invaluable information about the art and artists accompany the photos. Both the French and American titles (when know), the size of the picture's image, the number of copies printed, and the exact wording of copyright declarations whenever known are included. A Price Guide, based on the current economy, will give beginners some perspective, but use it cautiously in this new and unpredictable field.

Women’s Poetry of Late Imperial China by Xiaorong Li Pdf

This study of poetry by women in late imperial China examines the metamorphosis of the trope of the "inner chambers" (gui), to which women were confined in traditional Chinese households, and which in literature were both a real and an imaginary place. Originally popularized in sixth-century "palace style" poetry, the inner chambers were used by male writers as a setting in which to celebrate female beauty, to lament the loneliness of abandoned women, and by extension, to serve as a political allegory for the exile of loyal and upright male ministers spurned by the imperial court. Female writers of lyric poetry (ci) soon adopted the theme, beginning its transition from male fantasy to multidimensional representation of women and their place in society, and eventually its manifestation in other poetic genres as well. Emerging from the role of sexual objects within poetry, late imperial women were agents of literary change in their expansion and complication of the boudoir theme. While some take ownership and de-eroticizing its imagery for their own purposes, adding voices of children and older women, and filling the inner chambers with purposeful activity such as conversation, teaching, religious ritual, music, sewing, childcare, and chess-playing, some simply want to escape from their confinement and protest gender restrictions imposed on women. Women's Poetry of Late Imperial China traces this evolution across centuries, providing and analyzing examples of poetic themes, motifs, and imagery associated with the inner chambers, and demonstrating the complication and nuancing of the gui theme by increasingly aware and sophisticated women writers.

Sexy Curves by Anonim Pdf

“Boudoir” photographs are intimate images created of a woman in a private (read intimate) space. The term “boudoir,” in translation, means “bedroom,” and images created in the boudoir style—whether they are indeed created in a woman’s boudoir or in a makeshift bedroom within the walls of a photographic studio—are strictly feminine. The subjects may be adorned in fine lingerie, or perhaps may be shown in the act of dressing—or undressing. The images are sensual, flirty, and always beautiful. Clients book boudoir sessions to celebrate their sensuality and femininity. For some, the goal is to document a special phase in life or simply to find a new way to see herself. Other women seek to book a boudoir session with the goal of providing a significant other with a highly personal and perhaps playful gift. Regardless of her motivation, her expectation is that her photographer will be able to amplify her assets, minimize any perceived figure flaws, and create a beautiful, evocative work of art. In order to meet—and exceed—her clients’ expectations, photographers must have a wealth of technical knowledge (just which camera angles, exposure settings, lens selections, and lighting patterns will create the desired look?) and a facility with coaxing form-flattering poses that lengthen legs, whittle waistlines, enhance the bust, and somehow look and feel natural, not contrived. The expression that is elicited must suit the mood of the image, too. And, of course, there are fragile egos at play. Yes, working with a scantily clad subject under the scrutiny of a lens is a tall order. Sadly, each of those concerns can seem magnified when working with the plus-sized boudoir subject. In this book, Tammy Warnock presents a tangible, easy-to-follow recipe for creating va-va-voom images of plus-size clients that celebrate every sexy curve. She introduces readers to 60 real-life subjects and investigates the intricate details of conceptualizing and crafting a sensational plus-size boudoir session. For each session presented for review, readers will learn about the client’s objectives (Why did she book the shoot? What was the mood or feeling or theme she had in mind?). Tammy will share the strategies she used to create rapport with the client, boost her confidence, and ensure a positive, praise- (and referral!) worthy experience. The artistic elements of the shot (backdrops, props, and styling) and corrective posing and lighting strategies are detailed as well, culminating in an inspiring and instructional framework that readers will rely on whenever any boudoir subject calls for services.

Philosophy in the Boudoir by Marquis de Sade Pdf

Part unabashed erotica, part social discourse, 'Philosophy in the Bedroom' is undoubtedly one of the Marquis De Sade's most uncompromising works. This tale, told in the main in dialogue, recounts the education and the resulting moral decline of Eugenie, at the instruction of Madame de Saint-Ange and Le Chavalier De Mirval, and their friend and collaborator Dolmance. Humorous in its telling and raw in the depiction of its scenes, the work leads the reader to the essence of De Sade's Libertinage, from riotous revelry to potent anti-establishment prose, the laws of Nature and on to its unforgettable conclusion. 200 years ago, this author was shocking audiences and forcing the masses to confront something the upper echelons of society had long known; pleasure, in all its forms and devices, was everything."

Boudoir by Ifa Brand Pdf

* First monograph on Playboy model, turned photographer, Ifa Brand* Ifa Brand's photographs offer a unique interpretation of female erotic art* Brings together 70 Polaroid images, captured over the past four yearsIfa Brand never felt satisfied as a model. The dissatisfaction stemmed from not being able to represent her true identity: 'I fell "between styles": alternative but not alternative enough; fetish but not in a typical sense. I also disliked photographers telling me how I should look, pose, behave; telling me no to red lips, no to precious lingerie and all the things I loved.' In 2017, she decided to go her own way. She saw photography as an opportunity to be her own creative director, to follow her own storylines, and to explore her own vision of sensuality, eroticism and fetish. Hers is a quest for personal empowerment through the art of self-portraiture: 'I find it very important to present a strong, independent woman. There needs to be an element of being untouchable. The message to the viewer is: yes you can look but solely on my terms.'
