An Inspirational Story by Major Subhash Sasne Pdf

I am Major Subhash Sasne (Retd.) presently residing in Pune. We all know normally that autobiographies are written by legendary, well-known people and celebrities. I belong to none of the aforementioned categories. Notwithstanding, I have ventured to narrate my real-life story in this book, An Inspirational Story. It highlights my struggles in my childhood and my journey as a Fauji and physical training instructor in the army; my aspirations for establishing world records and associated challenges faced in fulfilling my dreams; my efforts to become an army officer; unplanned, premature retirement; financial crunches; opportunity in the Department of Sainik Welfare, Maharashtra; helping thousands of ex-servicemen; Veer Naris and their dependent children and conceptualising the Pre-Primary Fitness and Sports Programme in Maharashtra involving the conduct of physical tests for over two lacs children. I deeply feel that by reading my story, the readers will get inspired to do something extraordinary in their life and also pursue their goals in the actual world.

Ordered to Laugh by Sudhir Mudgal Pdf

The Indian armed forces have a great sense of humour, as awe-inspiring as its fighting prowess — remarkably incisive and direct (like the famed Bofors), succinct and biting, but for reasons unknown (and perhaps ‘classified’), they prefer to shoot with their weapons, rather than with their writing instruments. 'It surely has come as a pleasant surprise that one of us has put together numerous jokes on service personnel itself. It is said that a person who can laugh on oneself is a gifted individual and a person who cannot laugh/smile is cursed.' — Air Chief Marshall S K Sareen, PVSM, AVSM, VM(G), Former Chief of the Air Staff, Indian Air Force

Trial by Battle by David Piper,Alan Jeffreys Pdf

October 1941. Twenty-one-year-old Alan Mart is posted to India and taken under the wing of the dogmatic, overbearing Acting-Captain Sam Holl. Following the Japanese advance on Singapore, the men are deployed to Malaya. What follows is a quietly shattering and searingly authentic depiction of the claustrophobia of jungle warfare and, ultimately, the futility of war.

STORY OF HARRY SINGH & SOPHIE KAUR by Madan Das Pdf

A very engrossing tale set during the British era. It is a fast moving narrative with humour and anecdotes of the Indian subcontinent and the British ruling class. The story revolves around an innocent heist carried out by a group of simple Indian soldiers to save their honour and in so doing a real life hero emerges who leads an attack successfully during World War II and puts an entire beach, in Indonesia, in the laps of his English masters. After the war he sweeps an heiress, who is a surviving passenger of the ill fated HMS Titanic, off her feet and into his arms. The misdemeanour enacted by the soldiers remains ensconced in secrecy for a decade and half. However, due to a string of circumstances, the perpetuaters are cajoled into revealing the misdeed during a drinking binge in a grand hotel setting in New Delhi ten years after India's independence in a chance encounter with their erstwhile pre-independence British officers. Since the mystery is revealed only in the last few pages of the book, the reader remains rivetted to the novel and is kept spellbound through out.
