Unveiling God by Martin Parsons Pdf

"Muslim responses to Christianity down the ages have been shaped by diverse factors. One of the primary stumbling blocks has been Muslim misperceptions of Christian core beliefs about the person of Jesus and the nature of God. This study includes a practical example of contextualization which should provide great insights to Christians who are trying to explain their faith to Muslims in diverse contexts." -Peter G. Riddell, Professor of Islamics; Director, Centre for Muslim-Christian Relations

Unveiling Mary Magdalene by Liz Curtis Higgs Pdf

The veil has been lifted. Discover the Gospel truth about the most myth-understood woman of the New Testament. Was Mary Magdalene a prostitute? An adulteress? The wife of Jesus? An ancient goddess? Liz Curtis Higgs, best-selling author of Bad Girls of the Bible and Really Bad Girls of the Bible, combines heartfelt contemporary fiction with extensive biblical research to bring to life the real Mary Magdalene of the Bible. With her own eyes, she saw him. With her own ears, she heard him. With her own hands, she touched him. Unveiling Mary Magdalene opens with the fictional journey of Mary Margaret Delaney, a madwoman adrift in modern Chicago. Her moving story, closely paralleling the biblical account, is followed by a verse-by-verse study of the first-century Mary Magdalene and her life-changing encounters with the Christ. “Liz has done it again! What hope and promise this will bring.” —Kay Arthur “The unforgettable portrait of a courageous woman.” —Rebecca St. James

Unveiling the Muse by Howard Philips Smith Pdf

Traditional Carnival has been well documented with a vast array of books published on the subject. However, few of them, if any, mention gay Carnival krewes or the role of gay Carnival within the larger context of the season. Howard Philips Smith corrects this oversight with a beautiful, vibrant, and exciting account of gay Carnival. Gay krewes were first formed in the late 1950s, growing out of costume parties held by members of the gay community. Their tableau balls were often held in clandestine locations to avoid harassment. Even by the new millennium, gay Carnival remained a hidden and almost lost history. Much of the history and the krewes themselves were devastated by the AIDS crisis. Whether facing police raids in the 1960s or AIDS in the 1980s, the Carnival krewes always came back each season. A culmination of two decades of research, Unveiling the Muse positions this incredible story within its proper place as an amazing and important facet of traditional Carnival. Based on years of detailed interviews, each of the major gay krewes is represented by an in-depth historical sketch, outlining the founders, moments of brilliance on stage, and a list of all the balls, themes, and royalty. Of critical importance to this history are the colorful ephemera associated with the gay tableau balls. Reproductions of never-before-published brilliantly designed invitations, large-scale commemorative posters, admit cards, and programs add dimension and life to this history. Sketches of elaborate stage sets and costumes as well as photographs of ball costumes and rare memorabilia further enhance descriptions of these tableau balls.

Unveiling the Invisibility Cloak by Sarah M. J. Muzart Pdf

Despite being an act that is widely practiced under the guise of a significant number of States, little is known about the intrinsic realities of enforced disappearances. General literature on the topic is lacking, and laws that address the problem are scarce. Enforced disappearances have only come to the attention of the international community fairly recently. At the dawn of this century, Thailand understandably remains one of the most active countries in the practice of enforcedly disappearing people as a means of removing them from the protection of the law because of no legally justifiable reason for arrest or detention - an ultimate breach of the Rule of Law. This book aims to attribute responsibility to the Kingdom of Thailand for failing to introduce legal mechanisms and safeguards to protect its citizens - in breach of its State duties - from enforced disappearances. In an attempt to remove pre-existing ambiguities on what basic human rights are being violated and by whom, the author comparatively analyses international human rights jurisprudence vis-a-vis certain Latin American and European countries. The jurisprudence reiterates that the human rights implications of enforced disappearances do not only depend on the State refraining from committing such acts directly, but also from its indirect acquiescence and tolerance of the act being committed by non-State agents. The repeated reports of enforced disappearances throughout its history make Thailand hypothetically accountable (since nothing can supersede State sovereignty). Still, the author hopes that this book will provide the guidance needed to help improve the human rights compliance in Thailand and, in due course, rid the country of this terrible practice. To this end, this book also contains first-hand contribution from experts and advocates to human rights in Thailand.

Unveiling the Secrets of Magic and Magicians by Mohammad Amin Sheikho,A. K. John Alias Al-Dayrani Pdf

How terrible are the words that issued from the mouths of those deceivers from amongst the jews, who used false statements to insert intrigue into the books of Islam. Their words about the possible use of magic to bewitch the most honorable one of all creation, Mohammad (cpth), are nothing more than mere lies. The same is true of another of their sayings- fie on them (may God make them as ugly as their deeds)- wherein they say that the accursed Satan controlled the Prophet (cpth), as well as other of our great masters, including Solomon, Job and our father Adam. Their statements are easily refutable, and just as our of every pot pours that which it contains, woe to them because of what pours from their spirits. As a result of such intrigues, the belief in magic, along with other spiritual diseases, is spread amongst the Muslims by disbelieving magicians and their followers- to the extent that one can hardly find a house in which there does not live at least one of their followers- These people believe the devil's call because they have listened to false scholars instead of God and have turned their back on the Qur'an as if they knew better. Now, however, it is time for the voice of truth to be heard by those people, whose forefathers were not warned and who therefore remain heedless. The Great Scholar (Mohammad Amin Sheikho) will bring them out of the darkness and into the light with the use of God's Luminous Book, for the good of all those who believe in Al'lah and the Last Day. God says: "And repent to Al'lah, all of you, oh believers, so that you may be successful." The Holy Qur'an, Fortress 24, An-Nour(Light),verse 31
