Dive into this thrilling FREE first installment of the Apparently, I’m the Infamous Earl’s Legendary Bride Series, a transmigration/time travel (isekai) romantic fantasy with a powerful heroine, badass hero warrior, arranged marriage, action and adventure, and kingdom-building by Alexia S. Praks What’s a girl to do when she finds herself in a medieval-like world of magic and monsters and is forced to wed an infamous earl? Marries the hunky warrior, of course! Plus saves his citizens, feeds them delectable food, and builds a grand kingdom in the process. Quinn Chen has her life planned out after university graduation—working in one of the biggest medical research companies and then maybe dating again after a bad breakup. The only problem is on the day of her graduation, she is hit by a truck and wakes up to find herself as eighteen-year-old Quinn Fairchild in a war-torn medieval-like fantastical world full of magic and monsters and is forced to become a bride to an infamous, ruthless, cold-blooded warrior of an earl. Swept not only into the isolated, strangely beautiful, lush land of Norsewood, but the powerful arms of the piercing blue-eyed Lord Aldric Templeton, Quinn—armed with blessings—must navigate her way through poverty-stricken, dangerous medieval life with a modern mindset and maybe even teach her gorgeous golden-haired husband, who is both kind and gentle and nothing like the merciless character that rumors imply, that having a girl from another world as a bride isn't so bad after all. Apparently, I’m the Infamous Earl’s Legendary Bride is a romantic fantasy series featuring a vivacious heroine with a determination to change and improve the lives of civilians in a medieval-like, war-torn world with the use of her modern knowledge and her magic and a hunky hero hell-bent on protecting his land and people and claiming his bride’s love. This series contains romance, magic, kingdom building, and food and cooking. Oh, and enough steam to fog up the other world’s medieval-era glass window in later books as the story progresses. A kingdom-building fantasy series usually involves strong, powerful protagonist/s with talent or knowledge that is rare or unknown in the world they are in as they work on building and managing their own village, town, city, nation, or even empire and gathering citizens and subordinates.

by Chuck Bianchi Pdf

During the summer of 1974, fourteen-year-old Chuck Moretti works in his father's funeral home in a small eastern Kentucky mining town. He finds himself in situations that few adults could handle, encountering life-and-death events, exhilarating emergencies, and profound tragedies in the family business. But Chuck also yearns for resolution of his own adolescent issues and longs for his mother who died six years ago. Confused by his father's seeming lack of emotion as he carries out his funeral director's duties, Chuck frequently seeks solace and advice from Bart, an effeminate waiter at the ill-reputed Blistered Cat, a honky-tonk cafi across the street from the funeral home. In between hair-raising ambulance rides and fulfilling the most morbid duties of a mortician's assistant, Chuck wants to remain a teenager. He strives to maintain his bond with his best friend, Andy, and to develop his first romantic relationship with Molly Sue, a local preacher's daughter. He longs for the thrills of teenage antics, yet finds them somehow unsatisfying. Throughout the summer, Chuck draws on a spiritual connection he has formed with his mother and looks to her for answers he can't get from anyone else. In the end, he learns to listen to-and trust-the answers that come from heaven.

An Unnecessary Death by Dean Bentley Pdf

AN UNNECESSARY DEATH by Dean Bentley I was hired by the Department of State the same week I took the Civil Service Exam in Washington, DC. I was promoted and blessed with wonderful years working for some great men. And those brilliant men decided I needed to get into Foreign Service, State Department's Diplomatic Corps, as I had the right temperament and abilities. I thought I understood how diplomats were selected; but I had a lot to learn, because that's when I ran into a truly insane diplomat. That evil man actually caused the death of an outstanding employee of the Department of State; and he knew there were two witnesses to the crime. He would stalk our lives for decades. This is that story.

Senator Howard Cannon of Nevada by Michael Vernetti Pdf

Howard Cannon (1912 - 2002) represented Nevada in the U.S. Senate from 1958 until 1982 and acquired a reputation as one of its most productive and influential members. Because he was a modest man more comfortable with hard work than self-aggrandizement, he was also one of its most under-appreciated. Nonetheless, Cannon influenced many major changes in American politics and policies during his time in office. Born to a devout Mormon family in a small farming community in southwest Utah, Cannon served in the Army Air Force during World War II and emerged from the war as a hero. Soon he was part of the postwar migration of ambitious, adventurous Americans to the booming desert city of Las Vegas, where he practiced law and entered local politics. In 1958 he was elected to the U.S. Senate and joined a group of influential young Democratic senators who were to play a major role in shaping the country’s future. His service on the Aeronautical and Space Sciences Committee and the Armed Services Committee led to major changes in the air travel industry, including deregulation, and to increased support for national military preparedness.

Our Daily Bread by Viola Huntley Pdf

Told from the point of view of thirteen-year-old Anne Turner, the story begins on a beautiful, hope-filled day in the spring of 1931. But as the sun sinks toward the horizon, so do Anne's spirits. Her family is moving again. When they arrive in Minnesota in hope of finding work for Anne's father, there is none. Every new place the Turners stop, work is no where to be found. Readers travel with Anne and her family across the Midwest and West as Anne keeps a journal of the daily struggle to survive during the depression. This is a story of hardship and human compassion as people help the Turners along their way--town and county officials who give them gas, laborers and shop owners who share their meager supplies. This is a story of a young girl's strong hope in the face of overwhelming despair.

The Art and Archaeology of Florida's Wetlands by Barbara A. Purdy Pdf

Waterlogged archaeological sites in Florida contain tools, art objects, dietary items, human skeletal remains, and glimpses of past environments that do not survive the ravages of time at typical terrestrial sites. Unfortunately, archaeological wet sites are invisible since their preservation depends upon their entombment in oxygen-free, organic deposits. As a result, they are often destroyed accidentally during draining, dredging, and development projects. These sites and the objects they contain are an important part of Florida's heritage. They provide an opportunity to learn how the state's earliest residents used available resources to make their lives more comfortable and how they expressed themselves artistically. Without the wood carvings from water-saturated sites, it would be easy to think of early Floridians as culturally impoverished because Florida does not have stone suitable for creating sculptures. This book compiles in one volume detailed accounts of such famous sites as Key Marco, Little Salt Spring, Windover, Ft. Center, and others. The book discusses wet site environments and explains the kinds of physical, chemical, and structural components required to ensure that the proper conditions for site formation are present and prevail through time. The book also talks about how to preserve artifacts that have been entombed in anaerobic deposits and the importance of classes of objects, such as wooden carvings, dietary items, human skeletal remains, to our better understanding of past cultures. Until now this information has been scattered in obscure documents and articles, thus diminishing its importance. Our ancestors may not have been Indians, but they contributed to the state's heritage for more than 10,000 years. Once disturbed by ambitious dredging and draining projects, their story is gone forever; it cannot be transplanted to another location.

The Arimaspian Eye by David L. Hall Pdf

This is a novel of ideas. Flatly to say that it is a work of fiction would needlessly call into question the value of those ideas. To claim, on the other hand, that the text is factual, in whole or part, would, after tedious reflections on the meaning of 'facticity, ' likely be judged a lie.

One Life, Two Stories by Nancy de Vries,Nancy De Vries Pdf

Within her pain and loneliness, Nancy found the passion, humour and courage to speak out against the bureaucrats who wrenched her from her mother aged 13 months. This unique book starkly contrasts Nancy's story with that of those bureaucrats, holding them accountable. 'It must never happen again', she said. But it does. Are we ready to listen, to bear witness?
