A Moment With The Messiah by Stephen L. Christo Pdf

God inspired this book to a man who went from worshipping false gods, bowing before idols, offering sacrifices, and often times, he found himself in the presence of individuals possessed by demonic spirits. Then one day, his eyes were truly opened when the one true God revealed to him a vision of the end times. He saw glimpses of individuals receiving the mark of the beast, and images of people being led into eternal darkness, while those who were sealed by the blood of Christ were destined to be in the presence of God for all eternity. His life changed one day when the Messiah Himself in another vision, said to him, "Come to me, my child, and I will take care of you." This is where his search for God really began. Today, he serves the one true God and His son Jesus Christ the Messiah. Stephen L. Christo was born in 1967 in the small town of Riversdale, in the island of Trinidad and Tobago. He moved to Pennsylvania in 1993, and in the fall of 1997, accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was an assistant pastor for over five years in a church named Grace Bible Chapel in Hatboro, PA. Through a number of experiences, which God has brought him through, including visions and miracle healings, the Lord has laid upon his heart the desire to write this book, in honor of what God has done in his life and for what He wants to do in the lives of others. This book, "A Moment with the Messiah" is his first book.

The Story of the Messiah by Wayne L. Ney Pdf

The Story of the Messiah exposes a host of Jewish customs, attitudes, political sects, and institutions during the time of Christ and chronicles the events of His life in Hebrew fashion while harmonizing the accounts of the four Gospel writers. Surely the setting, characters, and plot of this two-thousand-year-old narrative are not unfamiliar, but while snippets of Jesus’ life have warmed the hearts of countless readers and listeners, a complete story of our beloved Savior is rarely gleaned. To remedy this vacuum, the author has embellished a chronicle of the life of Jesus by: • shining a light on first-century Judaism • providing historical and factual information pertaining to the Jews in a Greco-Roman world • including numerous tidbits—both credible and incredible—that were pertinent to the various characters and episodes • highlighting solutions to the apparent discrepancies proffered by the original authors Beginning with God’s covenant with Abraham and a brief history of Israel, this rendition of Jesus’ story gathers truth from the prophets of the old standard as well as meaning from Paul and other writers of the New Testament. The final curtain closes on the Day of Pentecost, when God fulfilled His promise of the Holy Spirit.

Words to Loved Ones by Paul Murray Pdf

Jesus' public ministry is finished. There will be no more miracles, no more healings, no more preaching to the masses, no more teaching in the porticos of Solomon in the temple. This third section of John's gospel covers only a few precious hours in the life of Jesus. He has gathered with His twelve disciples in a private upper room. Passover will begin the following day, Friday, at 6:00 p.m. Jesus knows that He will be arrested in a matter of hours. He knows that He will be dragged before three religious hearings and three official government trials. During that time, He will be brutally beaten, almost beyond recognition. He will be crucified and dead by about 3:00 p.m. that same day. He knows this because He understands what the Old Testament Scriptures have clearly foretold. The mission He was sent to accomplish was about to be completed. The twelve disciples dining around the table with Him have no idea of these events that are soon to unfold. This is just a time of celebration before the Passover event. The city is bustling with millions of pilgrims from all over the empire. Soon, however, the mood turns somber. There is talk of Him leaving them and going away where they cannot follow, talk of another Helper coming, and talk of a betrayer. They can sense the heaviness in their Master's heart and they too become troubled in heart. They have no idea that sitting with them at that meal, not six feet away, is not only God incarnate in the person of Jesus but also the devil, himself, incarnate in the person of Judas whose heart Satan has possessed. A drama for all the centuries is about to be played out. Jesus has only a few hours to prepare these men for the events of this night that will transform them forever. These are Words to Loved Ones, words to keep them safe and secure in a hellish storm about to be unleashed that will overwhelm them and change human history. Sit among these men these men and listen carefully to Jesus' words. Upon leaving this room, you will never be the same.

The Moment by Heidrun Friese Pdf

Modern philosophical thought has a manifold tradition of emphasising ‘the moment’. ‘The moment’ demands questioning all-too-common notions of time, of past, present and future, uniqueness and repetition, rupture and continuity. This collection addresses the key questions posed by ‘the moment’, considering writers such as Nietzsche, Husserl, Benjamin and Badiou, and elucidates the connections between social theory, philosophy, literary theory and history that are opened up by this notion.

Resurrecting Justice by Douglas Harink Pdf

The theme of justice pervades the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. And all Christians agree that justice is important. We often disagree, however, about what justice means, both in Scripture and for us today. Many turn to Old Testament laws, the prophets, and the life of Jesus to find biblical guidance on justice, but few think of searching the letters of Paul. Readers frequently miss a key source, a writing in which justice is actually the central concern: the book of Romans. In Resurrecting Justice, theologian Douglas Harink invites readers to rediscover Romans as a treatise on justice. He traces Paul's thinking on this theme through a sequential reading of the book, finding in each passage facets of the gospel's primary claim—that God accomplishes justice in the death and resurrection of Jesus Messiah. By rendering forms of the Greek word dikaiosynē as "just" or "justice," Harink emphasizes the inseparability of personal, social, and political uprightness that was clear to Paul but is obscured in modern translations' use of the words "righteous" and "righteousness" instead. Throughout this book, Harink includes personal reflection questions and contemporary implications, helping readers connect Paul's teaching to issues in their world such as church life, politics, power, criminal justice, and violence. Romans demands nothing less than a fundamental rethinking of all things in the light of the gospel. And in Romans the life, death, resurrection, and exaltation of Jesus makes all the difference in how we think about justice. Resurrecting Justice makes clear that the good news of a justice that can come only from God is crucial not only for individual lives but for all peoples and nations of the world.

Divining History by Jayne Svenungsson Pdf

For millennia, messianic visions of redemption have inspired men and women to turn against unjust and oppressive orders. Yet these very same traditions are regularly decried as antecedents to the violent and authoritarian ideologies of modernity. Informed in equal parts by theology and historical theory, this book offers a provocative exploration of this double-edged legacy. Author Jayne Svenungsson rigorously pursues a middle path between utopian arrogance and an enervated postmodernism, assessing the impact of Jewish and Christian theologies of history on subsequent thinkers, and in the process identifying a web of spiritual and intellectual motifs extending from ancient Jewish prophets to contemporary radicals such as Giorgio Agamben and Slavoj Zizek.
