Faith of a Mustard Seed by Paul Karanick Pdf

Paul Karanick and his wife, Christina, experienced what it means to have the faith of a mustard seed. The term is used by Christ to explain the power that one can have if we just have a little faith. Paul looks back on his life and ministry to reveal how God strengthens our faith and forms us into an effective part of the body of Christ. Recalling the steps of how God led him, his family and ministry, Paul highlights how God equips the ones He calls by:  Calling all people to have faith  Confirming that God is calling  Walking through fear  Building a stronger faith  Infecting others with faith Paul uses his own life as an example of the faith process. These illustrations will prepare believers for the typical steps involved in building a stronger faith relationship with Christ. Paul openly admits that he was not qualified to take on the task that God had placed upon him, but God would soon reveal to Paul that no one is truly qualified without the power of Christ. God reshaped Paul and led him into a ministry that continuously depended upon faith. A true visionary and gifted in faith, he began to trust less in his own abilities and more upon God's abilities. Knowing that without faith it is impossible to please God, Paul teaches of using faith to get as close to God as you can. Paul's unshakeable faith became contagious within his ministry as life's worries and fears were lessened due to the faith that God provides.

Mustard Seed Faith by Bethanee Syversen Pdf

After seven miscarriages and three failed adoptions, where do you find the strength to pursue your dream of parenthood? Bethanee Syversen’s deeply personal debut, Mustard Seed Faith: A Journey through Infertility, Miscarriages, Adoption, and Faith, is a story of believing in a God who is powerful enough—and generous enough—to do the impossible. Bethanee always wanted to be a parent. When the doctors gave their prognosis, she had to decide where her strength would come from. She and her husband chose to trust in God. Each negative pregnancy test, each unexpected loss, and each adoption delay would test her heart’s resolve. However, through every blow, Bethanee discovered that God doesn’t give up. He never goes away. And He never leaves His children unrestored. Now a mother of six, Bethanee has experienced the hardship and joy of becoming a mom through birth and through adoption. Much of Mustard Seed Faith comes from Bethanee’s blog, which captured the raw emotion of her story as it unfolded. In part one, Bethanee confronts the heartbreak of infertility and the private grief of multiple miscarriages. In part two, she recounts the physical toll and emotional extremes of adopting. For many, Bethanee’s fourteen-year journey is all too familiar, but it is her uncommon faith in God’s good and sovereign plan that inspires readers to keep hoping, keep praying, and keep believing.

Mustard Seeds by Lynn Coulter Pdf

C.S. Lewis likened hard times to "God's megaphone," a season when the Creator's ways are made clear and proven merciful. Mustard Seeds author Lynn Coulter agrees, writing here across fifteen essays about the natural graces and "God signs" that emerged during a three-year period of hardship and sustain her faith today. From personal events (her parents' deaths, a job loss) to universal cripplers (stress, worry), Coulter's fresh anecdotes unearth the little daily markers of God's love and care while staying rooted in Scripture. Her writings fuse the observational strength of Anne Lamott's nonfiction with the warm delivery of Sue Monk Kidd's devotional books and are sure to be passed around as tools of encouragement and faith strengthening among friends. Chapters include "Used People," "Deep Healing," and "Nothing without Joy." Endorsements Starred review. Coulter, a magazine journalist, takes the familiar biblical story of faith the size of a mustard seed to illustrate how God can use even the most horrendous "lifequakes" as faith-builders. Coulter opens her compilation of life essays with a personal story from her childhood, when the concept of mustard seed faith was first planted after a teacher offered the class mustard seed charms as an attendance reward. Though Coulter eventually lost the charm, she never forgot its message. Years later, after the death of her parents, her husband's job loss, financial setbacks, and her own shattered shoulder, the author's faith was in pieces. She wrestled long and hard to regain closeness with God. In each of these tender topical chapters, Coulter uses everyday happenings from nature, parenting, work, illnesses, and church to reaffirm a single lesson: God is intimately involved in every aspect of life and he cares with a watchful affection. Readers will find strength from Coulter's story and solace in God's promises regarding faith and grace. --Publishers Weekly "Reading Mustard Seeds feels like time spent conversing with a dear old friend over a cup of coffee. Lynn's honest story of how she renewed her faith in Jesus will be a blessing and a source of encouragement." --Mickey McLean, Web Managing Editor, WORLD Magazine "A sensitive, thoughtful book, filled with new beginnings, hope, and the wonder and beauty of the search for God." --Amy Blackmarr, author of Going to Ground: Simple Life on a Georgia Pond

Blush by Danielle Ripley-Burgess Pdf

NOBODY SAID growing up is easy. For Danielle, the safe suburbs of Kansas City always felt warm. Inviting. But one day, everything changed. Not only did she hate what puberty was doing to her body, she had spotted a few scary specks of blood after going number two. Gross. As an insecure tween who blushed during the talk, one who refused to buy toilet paper at the store, nobody could know her little secret. So she hid it from everyone-Mom, Dad, her brother, and her friends. This went on ... for years. Busted. Eventually, her secret came out. Danielle was rushed to the doctor and into a colonoscopy. Shock took over when she was diagnosed with a rare colon cancer (something the internet called an old man's disease) just a few weeks after her seventeenth birthday. Seriously!? High school mornings in classrooms morphed into nightmare days in cancer-center waiting rooms. Yet Danielle stayed hopeful, even grateful, for her illness. The way she saw it, fighting cancer spiced up her otherwise-boring testimony. And it brought her true love. Not until she heard the dreaded It's cancer again at age twenty-five did she start to resent so much suffering and question her faith. Yet Danielle wasn't about to stop. From Times Square to the White House, she became an outspoken survivor by starting a blog, as well as a young wife and a mom. Eventually, she found the self-acceptance she'd been looking for-it was guided by a still, small voice that had been with her all along. In this soul-baring memoir, Blush: How I Barely Survived 17, Danielle reminds us that growing up is never easy, and she shows us how to go head to head with God. With out-of-body wisdom beyond its years, Blush beautifully inspires us to accept our imperfections and embrace every season of life. AUTHOR BIOGRAPHY: Danielle Ripley-Burgess is a two-time colon cancer survivor first diagnosed at age seventeen and an award-winning communications professional. She writes and speaks to encourage those facing trials, under a motto of faith that survives. She's the author of Blush: How I Barely Survived 17 (Redemption Press, 2020), The Holiday Girls (Little Lights Studio, 2018), and Unexpected: 25 Advent Devotionals. Her story has been told around the world through outlets like The Today Show, BBC's World Have Your Say, Sirius Radio's Doctor Radio, the Chicago Tribune, the Huffington Post, among others. Home is in Kansas City with her husband, Mike, and daughter, Mae. When she's not writing, she can be found baking her favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe. It's a good one. As Earth Without Water by Katy Carl Pdf

When Dylan Fielding, celebrated contemporary visual artist, becomes Br. Thomas Augustine, novice at Our Lady of the Pines monastery, he finds delight not only in the shock his choice causes everyone around him but--to his own surprise--in the rhythms of the life itself. Shortly before he solidifies a lifelong commitment to the community, a traumatic encounter with an abusive priest plunges Thomas Augustine into terror and doubt. Reeling and uncertain, he reaches out to his friend, rival, and former lover, Angele Solomon, with hopes that she can help him to speak the difficult truth. As she attempts to advocate for her friend, Angele must ask how the scars left by their common past-as well as newer harms-can ever be healed or transcended. The wider inquiries demanded next will transfigure how both of them picture a range of human and divine things: time and memory; art and agency; trust and responsibility; and what it might mean to know real freedom.

Mustard Seed Faith in Church Planting and Evangelism by Gary Morris Pdf

The cover picture and the title go hand in hand. The person who goes out and casts seed has in him the hope that the kingdom of God will be expanded. He possesses at minimum, faith the size of a mustard seed. He believes that the all-powerful God whom he serves will release His power in what the picture portrays. The servant of God cast the seed, not knowing but believing that the purposes of God will become evident. Why? Because faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). So in his labors, some seed finds residence in a hard and dark heart of stone. God is working His miracle of regeneration or drawing that hard-hearted individual to Himself. The seed of the eternal Word is cracking and breaking up the hard heart. Sometimes, the person of faith observes something happening. He witnesses what was once a hard and depraved heart is now being softened toward God. If he is involved in up-close evangelism, he is blessed to witness the spiritual miracle of salvation as depicted in the picture as becoming a heart of flesh. That once-hard-hearted person is now able to move in God's direction rather than continuing in his own depraved way. The eternal seed that has been implanted in the heart by God now begins to sprout out with life, demonstrating the life of the Lord Jesus Christ, growing and producing spiritual fruit unto his King; this is his reasonable service.
