A Proposed Procedure for Diagnosis and Improvement of Dynamical Prediction Models by Chien-Hsiung Yang Pdf

This report lays a logical foundation on which deficiencies of dynamical prediction models can be defined and dealt with on a rational basis. Measures of the quality of performance of dynamical prediction models are suggested, and a procedure with which deficiencies of the models can be diagnosed is proposed. A sample study is used to illustrate the use of the proposed procedure, and the results of the study are presented. (Author).

A Report on Experiments with the AFGWC Boundary Layer Model by Chien-Hsiung Yang,Karekin Agazarian Pdf

Experiments were carried out to find means of improving the forecast performance of the Air Force Global Weather Central (AFGWC) Boundary Layer Model. The results suggest that modifications in the methods of estimating eddy diffusivity and surface specific humidity may yield a slight improvement in the forecast accuracy while requiring less computation. It is also demonstrated that doubling the time step from 30 to 60 min does not significantly degrade the forecast accuracy. Suggestions on further modifications under less restrictive operational conditions are also included. (Author).

DYNAMIC NEUTROSOPHIC COGNITIVE MAP WITH IMPROVED CUCKOO SEARCH ALGORITHM (DNCM-ICSA) AND ENSEMBLE CLASSIFIER FOR RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS by B. Chithra,R. Nedunchezhian Pdf

Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) falls under the group of chronic autoimmune diseases, which affects the joints and muscles, and can lead to considerable damage to the joint structure and their functionality. RA diagnosis much in early stages is quite critical in stopping the progression of the disease. In this technical work, Dynamic Neutrosophic Cognitive Map with Improved Cuckoo Search Algorithm (DNCM-ICSA) with ensemble classifier is introduced for obtaining the gene expression profile, which distinguishes between the persons affected with RA and probable subjects of control.

Dynamic Modeling of Complex Industrial Processes: Data-driven Methods and Application Research by Chao Shang Pdf

This thesis develops a systematic, data-based dynamic modeling framework for industrial processes in keeping with the slowness principle. Using said framework as a point of departure, it then proposes novel strategies for dealing with control monitoring and quality prediction problems in industrial production contexts. The thesis reveals the slowly varying nature of industrial production processes under feedback control, and integrates it with process data analytics to offer powerful prior knowledge that gives rise to statistical methods tailored to industrial data. It addresses several issues of immediate interest in industrial practice, including process monitoring, control performance assessment and diagnosis, monitoring system design, and product quality prediction. In particular, it proposes a holistic and pragmatic design framework for industrial monitoring systems, which delivers effective elimination of false alarms, as well as intelligent self-running by fully utilizing the information underlying the data. One of the strengths of this thesis is its integration of insights from statistics, machine learning, control theory and engineering to provide a new scheme for industrial process modeling in the era of big data.
