There is rapid development and change in the field of computer science today. These affect all areas of life. Emerging topics in computer science are covered in this book. In the first chapter, a specific IoT application called a smart mailbox with face recognition, which uses cellular connectivity and image processing to securely deliver valuable documents. The prototype for this system includes a fingerprint reader, camera, electromagnetic lock, and various other components connected to an Arduino Uno and a Raspberry Pi, and uses OpenCV and Python software for face detection and recognition. In the second chapter, authors compares and evaluates the main characteristics of 5G channels and the performance of two channel coding candidates, low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes and polar codes. The analysis considers block error rate, bit error rate, computational complexity, and flexibility, and finds that polar codes outperform LDPC code systems, though LDPC is still a viable option compared to other code systems. The third chapter focuses on how to reliably process and store DNA sequences in EHR systems without any modifications. To achieve this, the authors introduce a coding technique and evaluate its effectiveness using the Hamming code and Reed-Solomon coding schemes on a sample data set. The results show that the Reed-Solomon coding scheme outperforms the Hamming code in terms of error detection and correction for securely processing DNA records to EHR systems. The next chapter investigates the robustness of AI models trained on thyroid ultrasound images using different convolutional neural network (CNN) architectures (VGG19, Xception, ResNet50V2, and EfficientNetB2) against adversarial attacks using the fast gradient sign method (FGSM), basic iterative method (BIM), and projected gradient descent (PGD) techniques. In the fifth chapter, it was questioned whether artificial intelligence could write an academic article. In this direction, an academic article was created and evaluated by OpenAI ChatGPT. The final chapter proposes an application to measure RF signal intensities in urban areas and use that information to estimate the amount of energy that can be harvested from these signals. This information is then presented to users through a geographical information system.

Aum Golly: Poems on Humanity by an Artificial Intelligence by Gpt- Ai,Jukka Aalho Pdf

What does AI know about love, happiness and making a difference? Aum Golly is a book of poems written in 24 hours. It was made possible by GPT-3 - an advanced autoregressive language model published in 2020 by OpenAI. "... a collection that surprises with humor and delicateness..." - Goodreads review "... I have to say reading it was a pleasure..." - Finnish radio host Ruben Stiller on Yle "... a beautiful dialogue between man and machine..." - a review of the Finnish audiobook The deep learning model can generate text that is virtually indistinguishable from text written by humans: poems, recipes, summaries, legal text and even pieces of code. GPT-3 is autofill on steroids. Good poetry makes us feel something and see the world differently. Despite the gut reaction some of us may have towards AI-enhanced creativity, Aum Golly is a book like any other. You will love some of the poems. You will hate others. Some will make you wonder, but all of them will make you think. Award-winning writer and TEDx speaker Jukka Aalho has guided the AI and chosen the poems for the collection.

Writing for Scholarly Publication by Christine Pearson Casanave,Stephanie Vandrick Pdf

This collection of first-person essays by established authors provides a wealth of support and insights for new and experienced academic writers in language education and multicultural studies. Although writing for publication is becoming increasingly important as these fields become both more professional and more competitive, few scholars talk candidly about their experiences negotiating a piece of writing into print. These essays will help researchers, practitioners, and graduate students expand their understanding of what it means--professionally and personally--to write for publication. Carefully crafted, focused, and provocative, the chapters in this volume document authors' experiences with a range of practical, political, and personal issues in writing for publication. Many portray the hardship and struggle that are not obvious in a finished piece of writing. Readers are encouraged to resonate with the events and issues portrayed, and to connect the narratives to their own lives. Practical information, such as contact information for journal and book publishers, manuscript guidelines, and useful books are included in appendices. Although organized thematically, the essays in Writing for Scholarly Publication: Behind the Scenes in Language Education overlap in many ways as each author considers multiple issues: *In the Introduction, the editors discuss key aspects of writing for scholarly publication, such as writing as situated practice, issues faced by newcomers, the construction of personal identity through writing, writing and transparency, facets of the interactive nature of scholarly writing, and intertwined political issues. *Part I focuses on issues and concerns faced by "Newcomers." *In Part II, "Negotiating and Interacting," the essays closely examine the interactions among authors, editors, manuscript reviewers, and collaborators; these interactions tend to be the least often discussed and these essays therefore offer readers fascinating insights into the sensitive social, political, and personal relationships among the many players in the scholarly writing game. *"Identity Construction" is addressed in Part III, where authors share their experiences with and reflections on the ways that professional writing helps them construct their identities as writers and scholars. *The essays in Part IV, "From the Periphery," help redefine what the notion of "periphery" might mean, from a concept with a negative connotation of "outsider" to a positive connotation of active and unconventional participant.
