Accelerating Data Transformation with IBM DB2 Analytics Accelerator for z/OS by Ute Baumbach,Patric Becker,Uwe Denneler,Eberhard Hechler,Wolfgang Hengstler,Steffen Knoll,Frank Neumann,Guenter Georg Schoellmann,Khadija Souissi,Timm Zimmermann,IBM Redbooks Pdf

Transforming data from operational data models to purpose-oriented data structures has been commonplace for the last decades. Data transformations are heavily used in all types of industries to provide information to various users at different levels. Depending on individual needs, the transformed data is stored in various different systems. Sending operational data to other systems for further processing is then required, and introduces much complexity to an existing information technology (IT) infrastructure. Although maintenance of additional hardware and software is one component, potential inconsistencies and individually managed refresh cycles are others. For decades, there was no simple and efficient way to perform data transformations on the source system of operational data. With IBM® DB2® Analytics Accelerator, DB2 for z/OS is now in a unique position to complete these transformations in an efficient and well-performing way. DB2 for z/OS completes these while connecting to the same platform as for operational transactions, helping you to minimize your efforts to manage existing IT infrastructure. Real-time analytics on incoming operational transactions is another demand. Creating a comprehensive scoring model to detect specific patterns inside your data can easily require multiple iterations and multiple hours to complete. By enabling a first set of analytical functionality in DB2 Analytics Accelerator, those dedicated mining algorithms can now be run on an accelerator to efficiently perform these modeling tasks. Given the speed of query processing on an accelerator, these modeling tasks can now be performed much quicker compared to traditional relational database management systems. This speed enables you to keep your scoring algorithms more up-to-date, and ultimately adapt more quickly to constantly changing customer behaviors. This IBM Redbooks® publication describes the new table type that is introduced with DB2 Analytics Accelerator V4.1 PTF5 that enables more efficient data transformations. These tables are called accelerator-only tables, and can exist on an accelerator only. The tables benefit from the accelerator performance characteristics, while maintaining access through existing DB2 for z/OS application programming interfaces (APIs). Additionally, we describe the newly introduced analytical capabilities with DB2 Analytics Accelerator V5.1, putting you in the position to efficiently perform data modeling for online analytical requirements in your DB2 for z/OS environment. This book is intended for technical decision-makers who want to get a broad understanding about the analytical capabilities and accelerator-only tables of DB2 Analytics Accelerator. In addition, you learn about how these capabilities can be used to accelerate in-database transformations and in-database analytics in various environments and scenarios, including the following scenarios: Multi-step processing and reporting in IBM DB2 Query Management FacilityTM, IBM Campaign, or Microstrategy environments In-database transformations using IBM InfoSphere® DataStage® Ad hoc data analysis for data scientists In-database analytics using IBM SPSS® Modeler

Accelerating Performance by Colin Price,Sharon Toye Pdf

Transform your organization into a dynamic catalyst for success Accelerating Performance is not just another “warm and fuzzy” change management book—it's a practical, comprehensive, data-driven action plan for picking up the pace and achieving more. Co-written by one of the authors of Beyond Performance, this book draws on a combination of empirical research and decades of experience advising global companies to show you how to reduce time to value by building and changing momentum more quickly than your competitors. The META framework (short for Mobilize, Execute, and Transform with Agility) offers advice for leading change at four levels: strategy, the organization, teams, and individuals. In addition to step-by-step guidance toward assessment, planning, and implementation, the book offers: A diagnostic tool for leaders, teams, and organizations to assess their starting place, and highlight the specific areas needed to improve the ability to accelerate performance. A detailed look at the factors proven to create drag—and drive—at each of the four levels: strategy, organizations, teams, and individuals. An exploration of the 39 differentiating actions that organizations can combine as dictated by their strategy and context into a winning recipe. A closer look at the practices of 23 “superaccelerators,” a global (and perhaps unexpected) mix of companies that have demonstrated a consistent ability to accelerate performance. A single taste of success is all it takes to spark change, but the hard work of following through requires constant vigilance—and a plan. Learn how to capture that drive, bottle it, and use it to sustain motivation, inspiration, and achievement. Deliver at the highest level, and then turn around and do even better next time. Accelerating Performance gives leaders a step-by-step framework for taking action and transforming their organizations, teams, and even themselves—starting today.

Over time, he began to capture these observations, usually inspirational, sometimes controversial. Notes Jim: "In late July 2016, through a variety of colliding circumstances, the opportunity to focus my thinking into a message of hope and inspiration took on a life of its own. Since that moment in time, I have started each workday, without fail, very early in the morning, with my coffee, my laptop, and a moment of quiet reflection. They are a critical part of a very important journey, that of painting a picture of hope and optimism for what the day might bring. I have not missed one day, since starting this in early August 2016. I mark my personal progress and success one day at a time by my ability to inspire myself and others each and every day through this small personal thought." Accelerating Automatic by Tim Wigham Pdf

I believe that any competent team can achieve high-performance. With this book I have attempted to map a simple model which I've used to help accelerate team-journeys to automatic excellence. I am convinced that any average leader can command respect and champion a cause if they understand how to elevate their influence. This book outlines a "3M" formula which distils the lessons I've learned working with elite teams in a dozen countries, numerous industries, and over several decades! For a leader or team to transform from Average to Automatic, a shift is needed in 3 areas: Mindset, Method, and Mood [3M]. Find out what "3M" Means and Master a new reality by applying some of the ideas contained within. Winning sports teams and elite organisations exemplify the 3M formula. Several of these examples are referenced in this book. The connection between each M as it relates to leadership, teamwork, and discipline is also unpacked. Accelerate from where you are today, to where 3M-excellence is Automatic.

Accelerating and Vortex Laser Beams by V. V. Kotlyar,A.A. Kovalev Pdf

This book gives insight into the theoretical backgrounds of optical vortices and their propagation in free space and simple optical systems. The author’s theoretical analysis allows full comprehension of recent results and allows a bridge between the mentioned topics. For example, there is a solution for an accelerating beam propagating along an almost half-circle, obtained from a solution for an asymmetric vortex Bessel mode. And vice versa, there is a solution for an optical vortex with accelerating focusing, obtained from a solution for a two-dimensional accelerating Pearcey beam. The book is intended for graduate and postgraduate students studying optics or wave physics.
