Teddy Suhren, Ace of Aces by Teddy Shuren Pdf

Reinhard ‘Teddy’ Suhren fired more successful torpedo shots than any other man during the war, many before he even became a U-boat commander. He was also the U-boat service’s most irreverent and rebellious commander; his lack of a military bearing was a constant source of friction with higher authority. Valued for his good humour and ability to lead, his nickname was acquired because he marched like a teddy-bear. Despite his refusal to conform to the rigid thought-patterns of National Socialism, his operational successes protected him, and he found himself accepted in the highest circles of power in Germany. He was one of the lucky third of all U-boat crewmen who survived the war, largely because his abilities led to a senior land-based command. He was also one of the first to publish his reminiscences, his account being typically forthright – its German title, Nasses Eichenlaub, suggesting that although he was decorated with the Oak Leaves, he was always in hot water. He died in 1984 but interest in his career was revitalized by the discovery of photographs documenting one of his operations in U 564, published with great success in 2004 as U-Boat War Patrol by Lawrence Patterson.

Aces Wild by Erica S. Perl Pdf

Zelly Fried has finally convinced her parents to let her get a dog, with the help of her grandfather Ace. Unfortunately, said dog (also named Ace) is a shoe-chewing, mud-tracking, floor-peeing kind of dog. Despite Zelly's best efforts to drag Ace (literally!) to puppy kindergarten, his flunking report card says it all: "This Ace is wild." Also wild is the other Ace in Zelly's life. Grandpa Ace has decided to begin dating again and is dining and dancing every night, against his doctor's orders. Determined to get both Aces under control, Zelly enlists the help of her two best friends, Allison and Jeremy (despite the fact that they don't quite see eye to eye). They need to come up with a plan, fast. But how? It's not like either Ace ever does what he's told.

Working Aces by Genevieve DeLarue Pdf

Melinda Jackson owns Working Aces, a temp agency in California. She employs disadvantaged women from shelters and referrals, trains them in her own special school, and absorbs them into her family of Aces. Their free education teaches them office skills, proper behavior, and training in industrial espionage. After training they are carefully evaluated, trained, tested and deployed. Melindas strategy is to work the first day on a job and to assess the businesses potential to provide her with useful information. She tells the client she will place the perfect employee in their business, and she does. Each placement is carefully chosen to pass confidential information back to the Aces office. Melinda uses it for gaining power, influence and of course, profit. The organization has grown to well over five hundred employees and now there are more Aces permanently placed than temp employees. Aces position themselves at the perfect time and place for PR photos and stories, marry influential men, and garner support for Melinda to run for office. The plan is working.

The Man with the Golden Arm (50th Anniversary Edition) by Nelson Algren Pdf

The Man with the Golden Arm is Nelson Algren's most powerful and enduring work. On the 50th anniversary of its publication in November 1949, for which Algren was honored with the first National Book Award (which he received from none other than Eleanor Roosevelt at a ceremony in March 1950), Seven Stories is proud to release the first critical edition of an Algren work. A novel of rare genius, The Man with the Golden Arm describes the dissolution of a card-dealing WWII veteran named Frankie Machine, caught in the act of slowly cutting his own heart into wafer-thin slices. For Frankie, a murder committed may be the least of his problems. The literary critic Malcolm Cowley called The Man with the Golden Arm "Algren's defense of the individual," while Carl Sandburg wrote of its "strange midnight dignity." A literary tour de force, here is a novel unlike any other, one in which drug addiction, poverty, and human failure somehow suggest a defense of human dignity and a reason for hope. Special contributions by Russell Banks, Bettina Drew, James R. Giles, Carlo Rotella, William Savage, Lee Stringer, Studs Terkel, Kurt Vonnegut, and others.

The Dam Code by Lise Rochon Pdf

This is a dangerous book to read so the reader is warned to be prepared and read the Introduction first to be more acquainted with that new knowledge. This book is dedicated to women. This book relates how The Code of Words and Letters and other Occult sciences were infiltrated in the general population at all levels for about 2000 years to the very poor, uneducated to the very rich and educated. This book is inspirational. It is an empirical study therefore its length. This book came to me as only a few clues to eventually become a tsunami of inspiration.

Response Control and Seismic Isolation of Buildings by Masahiko Higashino,Shin Okamoto Pdf

This state of the art report from an international task group (TG44) of CIB, the International Council of Building Research Organizations, presents a highly authoritative guide to the application of innovative technologies on response control and seismic isolation of buildings to practice worldwide. Many countries and cities are located in earthquake-prone areas making effective seismic design a major issue in structural engineering. Reassuringly, structural response control and seismic isolation have advanced remarkably in recent years following numerous studies internationally. Several major conferences have been held and reports have been written but little has been issued on the application of the technologies to good structural engineering practice. Plugging that gap, Response Control and Seismic Isolation of Buildings presents researchers in structural engineering (dynamics) and construction management with up-to-date applications of the latest technologies.

Radio Drama by Martin Grams Pdf

The free-standing radios of the middle decades of the 20th century were invitingly rotund and proudly displayed-nothing like today's skinny televisions hidden inside "entertainment centers." Radios were the hub of the family's after-dinner activities, and children and adults gorged themselves on western-adventure series like "The Lone Ranger," police dramas such as "Calling All Cars," and the varied offerings of "The Cavalcade of America." Shows often aired two or three times a week, and many programs were broadcast for more than a decade, comprising hundreds of episodes. This book includes more than 300 program logs (many appearing in print for the first time) drawn from newspapers, script files in broadcast museums, records from NBC, ABC and CBS, and the personal records of series directors. Each entry contains a short broadcast history that includes directors, writers, and actors, and the broadcast dates and airtimes. A comprehensive index rounds out the work.
