The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain Pdf

Huckleberry Finn, Tom Sawyer's best friend, escapes down the Mississippi on a raft with the runaway slave, Jim. One of the iconic American novels, it caused a stir when published because of the vernacular used by Twain to characterize Jim and the people of the Mississippi. Twain's criticism of racial segregation and the treatment of slaves was thrown into turbulent criticisms at the turn of the century however, when he himself was accused of racist stereotyping and frequent use of the word "nigger".

Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain Pdf

ADVENTURES OF HUCKLEBERRY FINN "Right is right, and wrong is wrong, and a body ain ́t got no business doing wrong when he ain ́t ignorant and knows better." ― Mark Twain, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn Adventures of Huckleberry Finn(or, in more recent editions The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn) is a novel by Mark Twain. The story is narrated in the first person by Huckleberry "Huck" Finn, the storyteller of two other Twain novels (Tom Sawyer Abroad and Tom Sawyer, Detective). Huck is a friend of Tom Sawyer. The book is a direct sequel to The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Huck and Tom each come into a considerable sum of money from their last adventure. Huck narrates how he is taken into the home of Widow Douglas and her sister, Miss Watson, in order to try and teach him religion and proper manners. Finding civilized life confining, Huck sneaks out of the house to join Tom Sawyer's gang. All is well and good until Huck ́s savage, drunken father, Pap, reappears in town and demands Huck ́s money. After failing to get his hand on Huck's money, Pap kidnaps Huck. Although Huck becomes somewhat comfortable with his life free from cleanliness, manners, church, and school, Pap's beatings became too severe. Huck fakes his own murder and escapes. After a few days of hiding, he encounters Jim, one of Miss Watson ́s slaves. Jim has run away from Miss Watson after hearing her talk about selling him. At first, Huck was conflicted about the sin and crime of supporting a runaway slave but he eventually connects with Jim emotionally. From then, Huck and Jim sailed through a river on a raft, stumbling upon thieves and scammers and all sorts of trouble then eventually meeting and teaming with Tom again. Indulge yourself in a story that discusses the conflict between natural and cultured life, racism, slavery, and honor, among others. Be an insider to their adventures by purchasing yourself a copy now!
