This book is one of the results of the II International Seminar on Research on Mediatization and Social Processes. The II International Seminar on Research on Mediatization and Social Processes had a program developed at two levels: Debate panels, with invited researchers – five tables with the participation of researchers from Sweden (1), Russia (1), Portugal (1), Argentina (1), and Brazil (6). The schedule of the II Seminar and its structure are available at https://www.midiaticom.org/seminario-midiatizacao/grade-de-programacao-2018/. Intotal, there were 15 hours of debates at the five debate panels. This second event gave continuity to the first International Seminar on Research on Mediatization and Social Processes, which also had guest researchers. In the first seminar, the five panels were attended by researchers from France (3), Denmark (1), Argentina (2), and Brazil (4). See: http://www.midiaticom.org/seminariointernacional/programacao-2016/. Therefore, methodologically, the Seminar takes place in the articulation of debate panels with international guests and working groups, with the presence of researchers, doctors, doctoral students, Masters, and master’s degree students. We emphasize that, still in the scope of training processes, master’s and doctoral students, masters and doctors, post-doctoral students and post-doctors, and members of the organizing Research Group take part in them as reviewers, in a blind evaluation, of the expanded abstracts submitted by graduates with lower titles – under the coordination of researchers/professors of the Research Group on Mediatization and Social Processes. They evaluated (in a group of more than three dozen reviewers) each of the works submitted by colleagues with training at a lower level, with classification grades, which resulted in the approved papers. Then, they were grouped by the organizing committee, successively, until the event’s working groups were formed. A total of 237 abstracts were submitted. They were selected in the following proportion of participants: 21% of professors/researchers; 33% doctors and doctoral students; 33% masters and master’s students; 13% graduates and undergraduate students, linked to scientific initiation research project and/or with research results of a senior research project. In the first seminar, in 2016, there were 250 submissions by authors and 217 expanded abstracts. Out of these, around 188 works were selected. At both events, half of the participants were from universities in other states (São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Minas Gerais, mainly). Among its results, in addition to the training processes in the course of its realization, we emphasize its consolidation in a library of reflections, in the form of complete articles of the presentations in Working Groups and books published in e-book format (with chapters produced by the participants of the debate panels). The expanded abstracts of the event are available at https://midiaticom.org/anais/index.php/seminario-midiatizacao-resumos. The full articles are available at https://midiaticom.org/anais/index.php/seminario-midiatizacao-artigos. This book of the Debate Panels of the II Seminar, in this e-book edition, is available not only in the project collection (https://www.midiaticom.org/e-books/) but also at FACOS UFSM (https: / /www.ufsm.br/editoras/facos/publicacoes/). We reiterate our thanks to CAPES and FAPERGS for the financial support, which is essential for to enable this proposal of conversation via research, both theoretical and empirical, carried out by its participants.

A Concise, Symptom-Based Textbook for Diagnosis and Decision Making in Clinical Practice Over the past twenty years, thousands of physicians have come to depend on Yamada’s Textbook of Gastroenterology. Its encyclopaedic discussion of the basic science underlying gastrointestinal and liver diseases as well as the many diagnostic and therapeutic modalities available to the patients who suffer from them was—and still is—beyond compare. This new textbook, Principles of Clinical Gastroenterology, is designed to inform practitioners on the features of the major clinical disorders in gastroenterology and hepatology from the point of view of the clinician observing signs and symptoms of a patient under care and management. It is a practical guide to diagnosis and decision making in clinical practice and provides a rich source of information on diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and liver. Covering the full range of examinations in gastroenterology and hepatology, with extremely timely chapters on patients with dyspepsia, eating disorders, jaundice, hepatitis, cirrhosis, and on screening, Principles of Clinical Gastroenterology gives you easy access to approaches that a clinician might take to common symptoms and signs presented by patients with such disorders. The chapters include the epidemiology, history, signs and symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of the most commonly encountered disorders in gastroenterology and hepatology. This textbook will be an invaluable resource whether you are a gastroenterologist, internist, surgeon, or other clinician who sees patients with gastrointestinal and liver disorders. Livestock in a Changing Landscape, Volume 2 by Pierre Gerber,Harold A. Mooney,Jeroen Dijkman,Shirley Tarawali,Cees de Haan Pdf

The rapidly changing nature of animal production systems, especially increasing intensification and globalization, is playing out in complex ways around the world. Over the last century, livestock keeping evolved from a means of harnessing marginal resources to produce items for local consumption to a key component of global food chains. Livestock in a Changing Landscape offers a comprehensive examination of these important and far-reaching trends. The books are an outgrowth of a collaborative effort involving international nongovernmental organizations including the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (UN FAO), the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), the Swiss College of Agriculture (SHL), the French Agricultural Research Centre for International Development (CIRAD), and the Scientific Committee for Problems of the Environment (SCOPE). Volume 1 examines the forces shaping change in livestock production and management; the resulting impacts on landscapes, land use, and social systems; and potential policy and management responses. Volume 2 explores needs and draws experience from region-specific contexts and detailed case studies. The case studies describe how drivers and consequences of change play out in specific geographical areas, and how public and private responses are shaped and implemented. Together, the volumes present new, sustainable approaches to the challenges created by fundamental shifts in livestock management and production, and represent an essential resource for policy makers, industry managers, and academics involved with this issue

Nights at the Circus by Tom Morris,Emma Rice Pdf

It's 1899 and all of Europe is agape at the arrival of the new century. The world crackles with possibilities and people dance to the irresistible rhythms of money, sex, love and freedom. Swinging above them all is a showbiz sensation: a fierce, vulgar, pant-droppingly sexy trapeze artist called Fevvers. In this dazzling homage to theatre Tom Morris and Emma Rice use a unique blend of story-telling, stage-craft and song to dramatise Angela Carter's popular and highly-regarded novel. Nights at the Circus opened at the Lyric Theatre Hammersmith in February 2006 followed by a UK tour.

Tapping the Green Market by Abraham Guillen,Sarah A Laird,Alan R Pierce,Patricia Shanley Pdf

There is a rapidly growing interest in, and demand for, non-timber forest products (NTFPs). They provide critical resources across the globe fulfilling nutritional, medicinal, financial and cultural needs. However, they have been largely overlooked in mainstream conservation and forestry politics. This volume explains the use and importance of certification and eco-labelling for guaranteeing best management practices of non-timber forest products in the field. Using extensive case studies and global profiles of non-timber forest products, this work not only seeks to further our comprehension of certification processes but also broaden understanding of non-timber forest product management, harvesting and marketing. It should be useful to forest managers, policy-makers and conservation organizations as well as for academics in these areas.
