Angry Me by Sandra V. Feder Pdf

A young child tells us what makes her angry and how she tries to let the anger come and go. An artful starting point for conversations about strong feelings. “I get angry,” says a little girl, looking fiercely in the mirror. Sometimes she gets angry when someone is mean and tries to take her toy away, when it feels unfair that there’s not enough time to go swimming, when she’s tired and just wants to go home, or when the kids at school leave her out, hurting her feelings. When she’s angry, she tries to remember to use her words — even though that doesn’t always work. Sometimes she can’t find the right words, or the words don’t come out the way she intends. But sometimes words do help, and when her anger melts away a new feeling can blossom. Sandra Feder’s cleverly constructed text presents different situations in which a child might feel angry, creating a nuanced look at anger and its many underlying emotions. Rahele Jomepour Bell’s illustrations show a loveable, angry little girl, brimming with personality, who learns how to express herself as she moves through her feelings. Seeds of Science by Mark Lynas Pdf

'Mark Lynas is a saint' Sunday Times 'Fluent, persuasive and surely right.' Evening Standard Mark Lynas was one of the original GM field wreckers. Back in the 1990s – working undercover with his colleagues in the environmental movement – he would descend on trial sites of genetically modified crops at night and hack them to pieces. Two decades later, most people around the world – from New York to China – still think that 'GMO' foods are bad for their health or likely to damage the environment. But Mark has changed his mind. This book explains why. In 2013, in a world-famous recantation speech, Mark apologised for having destroyed GM crops. He spent the subsequent years touring Africa and Asia, and working with plant scientists who are using this technology to help smallholder farmers in developing countries cope better with pests, diseases and droughts. This book lifts the lid on the anti-GMO craze and shows how science was left by the wayside as a wave of public hysteria swept the world. Mark takes us back to the origins of the technology and introduces the scientific pioneers who invented it. He explains what led him to question his earlier assumptions about GM food, and talks to both sides of this fractious debate to see what still motivates worldwide opposition today. In the process he asks – and answers – the killer question: how did we all get it so wrong on GMOs? 'An important contribution to an issue with enormous potential for benefiting humanity.' Stephen Pinker 'I warmly recommend it.' Philip Pullman

Angry Bitch! Who Are You? I Love You. by Lulu Brix Mahaini Pdf

In his speech on our wedding day, my husband said, One of the things I love about you is how happy you always are. As the years passed another part of me than happy seemed to take control over my life: an angry bitch! I tried my hardest to avoid, deny, and suppress her existence in my life. I tried blaming other people for my frustration, but nothing seemed to work. It was only when I found myself unreasonably angry with my two young, innocent daughters that I realized I had some inner work to do instead of projecting my anger onto the world. This book is about life, love, and overcoming struggles. It tells the tales of some of the things I learned on my journey of self-discovery, acceptance, embracing my shadows, self-forgiveness, and turning many of my previous beliefs upside down. It shares how I used the tools I learned as an integrative shadow coach to get to know, make peace with, and bring love to all parts of myselfeven the angry bitch. By opening up to, embracing, and loving my inner angry bitch, she finally relaxedand I found myself a lot wiser, happier, and back in control of my life again.

Angry Conversations with God by Susan E. Isaacs Pdf

Disillusioned, disenfranchised, and disinterested in anything churchy, Susan Isaacs knew of only one thing to do when she hit spiritual rock bottom at age 40. . . . She took God to couples counseling. In this cuttingly poignant memoir, Susan Isaacs chronicles her rocky relationship with the Almighty--from early childhood to midlife crisis--and all the churches where she and God tried to make a home: Pentecostals, Slackers for Jesus, and the über-intellectuals who turned everything, including the weekly church announcements, into a three-point sermon. Casting herself as the neglected spouse, Susan faces her inner nag and the ridiculous expectations she put on God--some her own, and some from her "crazy in-laws" at church. Originally staged as a solo show in New York and Los Angeles, ANGRY CONVERSATIONS WITH GODis a cheeky, heartfelt memoir that, even at its most scandalous, is still an affirmation of faith.

ANGRY WITH GOD by GUILLERMO CORONA Pdf

The valuable stories that I will tell in this book are not intended to diagnose, cure or prevent depression in young people, it is not my intention because I am not a mental health professional. They are to make parents understand, including me as such, as with every adult in contact with children and adolescents, that many of our children are experiencing unhappy lives, losing the desire to live, and, most seriously, committing suicide due to this mental disease. All this happens unfortunately because we do not have the right tools or we do not really know about the concepts about this condition, therefore, we cannot recognize in time what the children are going through. It is sad to see so many young people in this world suffering due to the impact of depression and the worst thing is that parents cannot support them on that difficult path due to lack of knowledge, ignorance, or perhaps because we have suffered from this disease or we are suffering from it. So I feel the responsibility to recognize that the world is full of sadness and that in truth, already in the third decade of the XXI century, we have not yet evolved as human beings towards a higher level of consciousness. The topic addressed and the stories shared by our young people break my heart, but I also experience hope and optimism seeing how there are so many kids who understand what depression is. Something undoubtedly favorable for themselves and even for parents, since they can have a better approach by knowing how to understand when a child suffers and how they can accompany him or her to overcome the condition together, which is so common in these times. On the other hand, throughout these pages, and with great satisfaction, we can see that many young people are coming out of depression or how others have achieved it very effectively, so much so that they can talk about it, give their testimony and show us their high level of understanding. I invite you in case you know an adolescent or young person who has depression, not to give this book directly to him/her but to his/her parents or other close adults so that they can understand a little more the problem that plagues youth so much and humanity in general. To such an extent that it has become one of the great evils of the century, becoming a significant and growing cause of deaths in the world. Depression in adolescents is not a game, so the earlier we can detect it, the greater and better the chances we will have to face it, seeking as an ultimate goal to minimize and even eradicate it, even if it seems utopian. Let us think at the individual level but also as a society that depression can be fatal, then let us deal with the issue with greater responsibility and deal with it with determination because the probability that a young person close to our life passes at some point or is happening now is very high. same for this. A very difficult problem that we are called to look at, observe and stop ignoring in favor of mental health, healthy personal development, and the integral well-being of our youth, families, and communities.

The Angry Christian by Andrew D. Lester Pdf

In this work, respected scholar Andrew Lester discusses and incorporates the newest behavioral research models, contemporary biblical and theological scholarship, constructivist philosophy, and narrative theory into a comprehensive pastoral theology of anger. In revisiting through the lens of theological anthropology the very subject that brought him to the forefront of scholarship in pastoral care, Lester presents engaging new material and innovative new methods of interventions for dealing with this often-confusing human emotion.
