Greed in the Church by Burmin Hill Pdf

The attention of many in the church has been misdirected away from the love of God to the love of money, wealth, and possessions. Yes! God does bless his people, but false prophets, false doctrines, the spirit of deception, and greed in the heart is causing many individuals to forget the purpose of God's call. He first called us to his Son, Jesus, then to salvation, love, mercy, forgiveness, humility, and in this process, he will provide for us so that we do not have to sell our souls to survive or have what we need. Sometimes, we look more at what we want than what we really need; we need him""the Lord! Everything else comes with having him first. What message are churches giving to the younger generations? The children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of some of God's people are learning one lesson""one bad lesson""that God is a bank where they can go only to make withdrawals and never make a deposit; a deposit of their lives to him. For when their needs are met, they do not return to the house of God again until there's another need. The churches must change from sending this kind of message, especially to the younger generations. Greed and the love of money can lead us down the wrong path and blind us. In Jesus's temptation in the wilderness, Satan offered him all the kingdoms and riches of the world. Jesus rejected and refused all of it because he loved the Father more, and he did not want anything from Satan. Would you want a friend, husband, wife, etc. to love you because of what they can get from you? I would hope that the church, all the body of Christ, would more and more see God as the loving Father that he is, forgiving, merciful, long-suffering, and always waiting for us to come and not look at him as someone we go to only when we need something; the Lord God and his Son, Jesus, are to be loved, worshipped, praised, and adored. To all the sheep, apostles, prophets, pastors, evangelists, teachers, and all the body of the Lord Jesus who have lost sight of who the Lord is and have lost sight of the purpose of his call, let the Word of God restore the vision of himself to you again.

Within His Wounds by Dave Hamer Pdf

Within His Wounds contrasts the redemptive treasures of Jesus with popular doctrines that circumvent the message of His cross. From many prominent platforms the absolute truths of atonement are no longer primary. Humanism is ascending where Christ centered preaching has been abandoned. Worldly philosophers are filling our sacred pulpits. Cross depleted sermons are giving counterfeit comfort to vast audiences. Hollow professions of faith are many, but genuine conversions to Christ are few! Fans are multiplying, disciples are vanishing and lost souls are perishing! Within His Wounds is a clarion call back to Calvary where Jesus suffered and died in our place. The wounds that led to His death are the wounds that lead us to His life.

2 Corinthians by Scott M. Manetsch Pdf

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." When the Reformers of the sixteenth century turned to this biblical text, originally written by Paul to the first-century church in Corinth, they found truths that apply to Christians regardless of their historical context. For example, Reformed theologian Wolfgang Musculus wrote, "To be a Christian is to be in Christ. If anyone is outside of Christ, he is not a Christian. It is easy to partake of the sacraments and to be of the name and profession of Christ, but that is not what it means to be in Christ... The largest part of Christians is still an old creature for they have not yet been regenerated and renewed by the spirit of Christ. To know a Christian, therefore, we should not so much examine his external profession, but his life." In this volume of the Reformation Commentary on Scripture, Reformation scholar Scott Manetsch guides readers through a wealth of early modern commentary on the book of 2 Corinthians. Readers will hear from familiar voices and discover lesser-known figures from a diversity of theological traditions, including Lutherans, Reformed, Radicals, Anglicans and Roman Catholics. Drawing upon a variety of resources—including commentaries, sermons, treatises, and confessions—much of which appears here for the first time in English, this volume provides resources for contemporary preachers, enables scholars to better understand the depth and breadth of Reformation commentary, and seeks to encourage all those who would be newly created in Christ.

Forgery in Christianity by Joseph Wheless Pdf

Incendiary in its passion and irrefutable in its evidence, this classic of atheistic literature condemns Christianity as superstition and wishful thinking rooted in early paganism, "sourced" by anonymous fables, and promoted by self-serving men seeking "worldly riches and power." Raging against the blatant manipulations of the early Church and the antiscience agenda of the modern Church, American writer JOSEPH WHELESS (1868-1950) takes on everything from faked "relics" and the "holy mummery" of stigmatics and other dramatic mystics to the "priestly terrorism" of the Crusades, the Inquisition, and the Church's historical intolerance. This is an absolute must-read for anyone looking for ammunition to counter the argument that the longevity of Christianity is evidence of its legitimacy. Commentary on the Epistle of St. Paul the Apostle to the Ephesians by Robert Rollock Pdf

Rollock’s commentary on Ephesians earned him the praise not only of Theodore Beza but of the wider world of Reformed communities. This commentary was his first link to Geneva and thereby the broader international Reformed literature. Beza’s praise is well known: “I pray you, taken it to be spoken without flattery or partiality, that I never read or met with anything in this kind of interpretation more pithily, more elegantly, and so judiciously written: so as I could not contain myself, but must needs give thanks, as I ought, unto God, for this so necessary and so profitable a work.”
