For a seed system to be effective, it must satisfy the different requirements of each crop. Presently, seed systems in many Sub-Saharan African countries focus on a narrow band of crops and therefore do not adequately support the diversity of growth and development in crops. This study urges Sub-Saharan African countries to implement a comprehensive seed system to meet the needs of a wide range of farmers.
