Rudhyar extracts from traditional Astrology a wealth of psychological and spiritual meaning. New interpretations of the zodiacal signs, houses, and planets are presented, shedding light on the three basic phases of the great ritual which constitutes the spiritual unfoldment of the human being. This is a book to read and re-read! Each chapter stands by itself, yet is a part in a vast symphony of revealed values and inspired imagery.
The scientific, historic, and popular basis behind the ancient art of astrology is explored in this comprehensive reference. The guide also includes a table of astrological glyphs and abbreviations, a section on casting a chart, and a chapter that explains and interprets every planet in every house and sign.
"The Future of Astrology" is a selection of essays written by some of the foremost astrologers in the world today. Topics explored include astrology and scientific research, psychology, biology, and economics; science versus astrology; the professionalism of practitioners; the politics of astrology; the insights offered by esoteric astrology; astrological organizations; astrology as a science; the role of counseling; and astrological predictions about the future of our world.
The author explores the idea that the most powerful astrological technique is a quiet, meditative mind. The book presents astrology as a form of active meditation where we contemplate whatever is arising with expectancy, receptivity, and conscious use of will to shape what unfolds. The author presents meditations on the spiritual lessons of the planets and zodiacal signs, and, with the plentiful use of case histories, describes the technique of symbol amplification, which enables us to unfold the deepest meanings of chart symbols. The book ends with a discussion of astrology as a spiritual practice.
Astrology, Karma & Transformation by Stephen Arroyo Pdf
This widely praised and internationally acclaimed classic on the spiritual aspects of astrology, a continual best-seller since publication, has now been translated into more than 20 languages, including Chinese, Turkish, Russian, Serbian, & Romanian. It has been enthusiastically reviewed by Library Journal, Isabel Hickey, CAO Times, and dozens of others. Often ranked as "my favorite astrology book" in surveys, it is now, as it has always been, a profound book far ahead of its time that speaks to readers personally in a life-changing way.
If human life, as the author argues, is a constant and desperate bid to compensate for our mortality, then the desire to love and to be loved is our greatest imagined panacea against the fact of our death. In modern Western society our problems have changed: now, with our stomachs full, our need to feel we are struggling to survive has become increasingly focussed on a growing dissatisfaction and insecurity in our personal relationships. Drawing on her 35 years' experience as an individual and group psychotherapist, Mavis Klein here elaborates her original theory of five basic personality types, ten compound types, and fifteen ways in which the basic types interact with each other in our relationships to others. She clearly elucidates the behaviours that disguise our often self-induced pains, and how these pains can be transmuted into our greatest talents and joy. This book addresses the reality of the world we are so often unwilling to accept: the irrational and violent world of shame, doubt, guilt, fear, love and hate.
Raimo Nikula's book on Eris is not quite according to the main current in astrology, but he presents an ample collection of examples which prove his point - as far as it is possible at all. Not Eris - the sower of discord, but a part of the underground triangle, Pluto/Hades (Father), Ceres/Demeter (Mother) and Eris - aka Proserpina/Persephone (daughter). To understand Eris, we have to think her as a part of a mythic family, which present subconscious urges and motives stemming from closeness - mixed feelings of dependencies between mother and father and their daughter. In this mythic triangle, Proserpine/Eris easily becomes a pawn in power games between other family members. Taking Eris at a face value=name is the interpretation misses the point, author says. Most of the interpretations of Eris is not about Eris as such, but they seem to be descriptions of Eris present sign, Aries. By looking into lives of famous people, who had strong Eris, we can expand our understanding this mysterious new (small) planet. The belief that every new planet name corresponds its meaning, should be challenged as a questionable shortcut to truth. We will not know what Eris means unless we collect data and link Eris to individual-psychological as well as universal and collective phenomena. That is what this book aims to do
