Python for Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering by Alex Kenan Pdf
The traditional computer science courses for engineering focus on the fundamentals of programming without demonstrating the wide array of practical applications for fields outside of computer science. Thus, the mindset of “Java/Python is for computer science people or programmers, and MATLAB is for engineering” develops. MATLAB tends to dominate the engineering space because it is viewed as a batteries-included software kit that is focused on functional programming. Everything in MATLAB is some sort of array, and it lends itself to engineering integration with its toolkits like Simulink and other add-ins. The downside of MATLAB is that it is proprietary software, the license is expensive to purchase, and it is more limited than Python for doing tasks besides calculating or data capturing. This book is about the Python programming language. Specifically, it is about Python in the context of mechanical and aerospace engineering. Did you know that Python can be used to model a satellite orbiting the Earth? You can find the completed programs and a very helpful 595 page NSA Python tutorial at the book’s GitHub page at https://www.github.com/alexkenan/pymae. The insights provided on team building and leadership can be beneficial for any stage of a career path."Who else could be most qualified to write a book about the golden years of aviation than Marijan Jozic? From the bowels of electromechanical instrumentation to the latest flight management computers, from the 'steam gauges' to LCD and Head Up displays, Marijan has seen, designed and managed their implementation. Thus then, who best to lead you in a journey through those golden years."Randolph Johnstone PhD, Former Boeing Associate Technical Fellow (ISBN:9781468605396 ISBN:9781468605402 ISBN:9781468605389 DOI:10.4271/9781468605396)
Engineering Economics for Aviation and Aerospace by Bijan Vasigh,Javad Gorjidooz Pdf
For all engineers and practitioners, it is essential to have a fundamental understanding of cost structure, estimating cash flows, and evaluating alternative projects and designs on an economic basis. Engineering Economics for Aviation and Aerospace provides the tools and techniques necessary for engineers to economically evaluate their projects and choices. The focus of this book is on a comprehensive understanding of the theory and practical applications of engineering economics. It explains and demonstrates the principles and techniques of engineering economics and financial analysis as applied to the aviation and aerospace industries. Time value of money, interest factors, and spreadsheet functions are used to evaluate the cash flows associated with a single project or multiple projects. The alternative engineering economics tools and techniques are utilized in separate chapters to evaluate the attractiveness of a single project or to select the best of multiple alternatives. Most of the engineering economics and financial mathematics books available in the market take either a pure theoretical approach or offer limited applications. This book incorporates both approaches, providing students of aviation and industrial economics, as well as practitioners, with the necessary mathematical knowledge to evaluate alternatives on an economic basis.
Cognitive Engineering in the Aviation Domain by Nadine B. Sarter,René Amalberti Pdf
Although cognitive engineering has gained widespread acceptance as one of the most promising approaches to addressing and preventing difficulties with human-machine coordination and collaboration, it still meets with considerable skepticism and resistance in some of the industries that could benefit from its insights and recommendations. Engineer Aviation Units In The Southwest Pacific Theater During WWII by Major Natalie M. Pearson Pdf
The thesis of this research is that the U.S. Army aviation engineer units played a crucial role in the success of General Douglas MacArthur’s island hopping campaign in the Southwest Pacific Theater at the tactical, operational, and strategic levels. Allied victory depended on seizing lightly defended enemy territory and neutralizing enemy strongpoints from Australia to the Philippines through the following pattern: conduct air and naval bombardment, land the assault forces, defeat any Japanese units in the area, and construct airfields and base facilities. This research demonstrates that aviation engineer units rapidly constructed these airbases and provided the necessary facilities for land-based aircraft so that carrier-based aircraft could focus on protecting the navy’s fleet.

Handbook of Research on Artificial Intelligence Applications in the Aviation and Aerospace Industries by Shmelova, Tetiana,Sikirda, Yuliya,Sterenharz, Arnold Pdf
With the emergence of smart technology and automated systems in today’s world, artificial intelligence (AI) is being incorporated into an array of professions. The aviation and aerospace industry, specifically, is a field that has seen the successful implementation of early stages of automation in daily flight operations through flight management systems and autopilot. However, the effectiveness of aviation systems and the provision of flight safety still depend primarily upon the reliability of aviation specialists and human decision making. The Handbook of Research on Artificial Intelligence Applications in the Aviation and Aerospace Industries is a pivotal reference source that explores best practices for AI implementation in aviation to enhance security and the ability to learn, improve, and predict. While highlighting topics such as computer-aided design, automated systems, and human factors, this publication explores the enhancement of global aviation security as well as the methods of modern information systems in the aeronautics industry. This book is ideally designed for pilots, scientists, engineers, aviation operators, air crash investigators, teachers, academicians, researchers, and students seeking current research on the application of AI in the field of aviation.
