Twins, Jacob and Aron, can turn into a dolphin and an owl. They live in C’Wall, the closest point to the Wall, a thousand foot high upside down waterfall out at sea. They sit the exam for a competitive place at University for the Intentioned, both fretting that their powers are useless in real life. When only Aron gets in, Jacob makes a snap decision to switch their names and steal his brother's place. The swap forces them to experience life from opposite sides of the class divide. Aron heads to a educational commune in Brixton, but does it have a darker purpose? Should Aron bring down the Wall, or does that make him a terrorist? And how far will Jacob go to stop him?

A Book of Evidence by Nancy L. Kuehl Pdf

Jesus was a Jew, living in a Jewish culture and under Jewish laws, laws that governed the people of Israel at a time of conflict with their Roman overlords. A Book of Evidence takes into consideration the history of first-century Jerusalem and is a unique presentation of the passion event, written from a Jewish legal standpoint. Find out why and how Jesus came to trial, how the politics of the age and a corrupt government played a role in bringing him to death. An examination of the numerous crimes of which Jesus was accused results in a reasonable explanation of the real blasphemy that caused him to be executed, and an investigation into "crucifixion" as it was known during first-century Jewish law. Was the Jewish trial legal? Was it a trial at all? Was there a Roman trial or a simple hearing? Where was the real execution site and burial tomb? All these questions are answered in this gripping book. Follow, step by step, along the path of Jesus during the Passover, from the Garden of Gethsemane, through the trials, to the brutality of the execution, and on to the garden tomb at Bethphage from which he was resurrected!

The Beasts Of Tarzan By Edgar Rice Burroughs by Edgar Rice Burroughs Pdf

s THE BEASTS OF TARZAN begins, Tarzan -- as Lord Greystoke -- is settled in civilized London. But two of his enemies, Nikolas Rokoff and henchman Alexis Paulvitch, are on his trail. The pair abducts Jane -- and Tarzan's son, Jack. Tarzan himself is stranded on a desert island, but with the help of Sheeta the panther and Akut the great ape he makes it back to the mainland. There he meets Mugambi, the giant chief of the Wagambi tribe, who becomes Tarzan's lifelong friend and ally. The group heads into the deep jungle after the kidnappers -- and when Tarzan finds them he lets the beast inside him wreck his vengeance. There's a beautiful irony, here -- Tarzan has come from the jungle into civilization, and his son must go from civilization to the jungle. Burroughs soon took up writing full-time and by the time the run of Under the Moons of Mars had finished he had completed two novels, including Tarzan of the Apes, published from October 1912 and one of his most successful series. Burroughs also wrote popular science fiction and fantasy stories involving Earthly adventurers transported to various planets (notably Barsoom, Burroughs's fictional name for Mars, and Amtor, his fictional name for Venus), lost islands, and into the interior of the hollow earth in his Pellucidar stories, as well as westerns and historical romances. Along with All-Story, many of his stories were published in The Argosy magazine. Tarzan was a cultural sensation when introduced. Burroughs was determined to capitalize on Tarzan's popularity in every way possible. He planned to exploit Tarzan through several different media including a syndicated Tarzan comic strip, movies and merchandise. Experts in the field advised against this course of action, stating that the different media would just end up competing against each other. Burroughs went ahead, however, and proved the experts wrong – the public wanted Tarzan in whatever fashion he was offered. Tarzan remains one of the most successful fictional characters to this day and is a cultural icon. In either 1915 or 1919, Burroughs purchased a large ranch north of Los Angeles, California, which he named "Tarzana." The citizens of the community that sprang up around the ranch voted to adopt that name when their community, Tarzana, California was formed in 1927. Also, the unincorporated community of Tarzan, Texas, was formally named in 1927 when the US Postal Service accepted the name, reputedly coming from the popularity of the first (silent) Tarzan of the Apes film, starring Elmo Lincoln, and an early "Tarzan" comic strip.

The Merchant Emperor by Elizabeth Haydon Pdf

The long awaited seventh book in Elizabeth Haydon's critically-acclaimed epic fantasy series, the Symphony of Ages. The war that they had feared is now upon them. Ashe and Rhapsody, leaders of the Cymrian Alliance, are gathering their allies to combat the machinations of Talquist, who will soon be crowned emperor of Sorbold. Gwydion Navarne remains by Ashe's side. Anborn, Lord Marshal, has taken to the field. And Rhapsody has been forced into hiding to protect the life of her infant son. The Merchant Emperor of Sorbold has unintentionally allied himself with a pair of demons and has begun targeting the dragons that remain on the Middle Continent. Talquist will stop at nothing until the Cymrians are wiped out and the entire continent and the rest of the Known World is under his rule. Assailed by danger from all sides, surrounded by lies and intrigue, Rhapsody is left with one undeniable truth: if their forces are to prevail, she must join the war herself, wielding the Daystar Clarion, an ancient weapon whose power is nearly unparalleled. As she struggles to reconcile her duties as a mother and ruler, a danger far more devastating than Talquist is stirring beneath the surface of the land itself.
