'Behold, the Angels Came and Served Him' by Kristian A. Bendoraitis Pdf

Angels have been analyzed in Christological research due to their primary function as messengers and mediators between heaven and earth. Their role in the Gospel narratives, however, has been largely unexplored. Utilizing the Old Testament and sources from the Second Temple period to illustrate the variety of angel traditions, Bendoraitis identifies how these traditions are reflected in Matthew's Gospel and interprets the passages in which angels appear or are represented, resulting in a detailed exegesis of those passages which specifically mention angels. Each reference is critically analyzed in view of its role in the Gospel's narrative and in light of Matthew's redactional hand. In addition, each chapter is accompanied by a discussion of relevant traditions of angels in order to illustrate how Matthew's use of angels has facilitated his Gospel's message. The examination concludes by postulating three factors in the inclusion of angel traditions in Matthew's narrative, pertaining both to Matthew's Christology and worldview.

FACING TRUTH - "The Tale of Two Gardens" by Patrick J. Tabor Pdf

This Book is based on the premise that the Bible is the objective Truth about created reality. Like a young child looking into a kaleidoscope, the picture of Christianity that we see in the world today is fragmented into an endless number of pieces and we struggle to put together a clear picture that makes sense. 2000 years of Church History, layers of Pagan Beliefs and Humanistic Philosophy have distorted and blurred the Bibles picture of the "Faith" that was taught by Jesus and the Apostles. In addition to that our innate resistance to "The Truth" is our biggest obstacle to embracing what is true about God, our selves and the Created Reality we live in and that makes coming to believe the Biblical Worldview at best very challenging. It is my hope that this book will help you establish an authentic Biblical Faith and bring the distorted, fragmented, kaleidoscopic picture of Christianity in the world today back into focus, as you continue your journey toward the gloriously wonderful "Eternal Kingdom of God."

The Reader's Holy Bible Volume 4: The New Covenant by Devoted Friends of God Pdf

Read the Holy Bible like a novel, not like a textbook! This version of the Holy Bible capitalizes on a new presentation style that has become more popular over the last few years, and one that is closer to the original version than most current ones. We've dispensed with chapter and verse numbers (they weren't added until the 1200s and 1500s, respectively), and we've put books that were split apart because they wouldn't fit on a single scroll (e.g., Ezra and Nehemiah) back into single books. We've also rearranged some of the books so they follow a more logical timeline and progression. We keep books with the same audience or author, or same theme or timeline, together. This makes it more cohesive for you to read. We've used the World English Bible, a readable translation that allows you to traverse the whole of God's word in thoroughly modern language. We hope you enjoy reading this new version of the Holy Bible, and may Yahweh bless you!

The Squire of Avelon by Keith G. Rasmusen Pdf

Back cover: Jesus appeared to John, his disciple, who had been exiled to the small island of Patmos, saying, "Do not be afraid - I am the first and the last, and the living One. I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. And I have the keys of Death and Hades (Revelation 1:17-18). The first-century Judean prophet and miracle-worker, Jesus of Nazareth, was crucified by the Romans on Thursday, April 6, 30 CE. During the weeks and months prior to his execution, he had accurately predicted this event in startling detail. And he had promised his followers that after three days and nights he would rise again from the dead, through a miracle known as "resurrection." One question is often asked: "Why did Jesus have to be crucified?" This book is a dramatic retelling of the gospel story, but it is also much more than that. It explains why Jesus was born, and why he had to die; it tells why Adam was made, and what caused his fall from grace; it describes what caused the great flood in the days of Noah. And it tells us where Jesus was during the three days between his crucifixion and his resurrection. Recent discoveries have been made which shed light on these ancient mysteries. Not only does this book continue the Autobiography of Flavius Boadicus, but it takes the reader behind the scenes, so to speak, and offers new insights. This book, at times, is moving and poignant, but also adventurous and exciting, going from the lofty heights of Heaven to the boundless depths of Hades, as the author continues to explore the enigmatic book of Revelation, as described by the disciple John, to Gaelbyrth Macus Aldynn, The Squire of Avelon.

Sacra Pagina: The Gospel of Matthew by Daniel J. Harrington Pdf

Matthew wrote his Gospel from his perspective as a Jew. It is with sensitivity to this perspective that Father Harrington undertakes this commentary on the Gospel of Matthew. After an introduction, he provides a literal translation of each section in Matthew's Gospel and explains the textual problems, philological difficulties, and other matters in the notes. He then presents a literary analysis of each text (content, form, use of sources, structure), examines the text against its Jewish background, situates it in the context of Matthew's debate with other first-century Jews, and reflects on its significance for Christian theology and Christian-Jewish relations. Bibliographies direct the reader to other important modern studies.
