Black Dog Blues by Caroline Ambrus Pdf

Sarah was an artist who lived in a big house with her partner. He was a restless man and he would often disappear with no word about where he was going or for how long. Her daughter became concerned that Sarah was lonely. She suggested that Sarah should get a dog for company. So they went to the local pound and found a beautiful black dog. Sarah adopted her and called her Lady. Lady and Sarah spent many years together and Lady was growing old. Then came the terrible day when Lady died. Sarah was very sad for many months. She realised that she needed the company of a dog, so she and her daughter returned to the shelter and Sarah adopted a black dog which she named Bo. Then she decided that one dog was not enough, so she went back to the dog shelter and adopted another black dog which she named Billie. Bo and Billie did not get on very well at first. Billie had an ambition to be an only dog and they were both jealous for Sarah's attention. Then one day intruders broke into the big house. Bo and Billy joined forces to frighten the man off. After that the two dogs became the best of friends and the house was happy and peaceful once again. Sarah decided that she should get to know the people in the neighbourhood. So she arranged a street party which starred her two black dogs, Bo and Billie.

Black Dog Blues (Italiano) by Rhys Ford Pdf

Acoustic Music Source Book by RICHARD L. MATTESON, JR. Pdf

Bill Bay asked me to write a follow up book to my last book, "The Bluegrass Pickers Tune Book (20233). If you like Bluegrass music (232 songs) I'd recommend getting that book to add to your collection. the focus of this book, the Acoustic Source Book is on roots and old-time music. the book is focused on the time period from late 1800's until 1940's. There are a few songs from the Bluegrass Book that were too important to be left out. I decided not to use any patriotic and Christmas songs and came up with a list of about 400 songs which eventually was cut down to over 200. During the late 1800's and early 1900's there was an important evolution in American music; the birth of jazz, ragtime, and blues. This was also the period of the phonograph and early commercial recordings. Music from the Minstrel period as well as traditional songs were used as staple for the roots musicians. In the early 1900's there were rags, blues, gospel, Tin-Pan Alley, jug band, spiritual, old-time country and popular songs. I've tried to include some of the well-known songs from every genre to give you a big slice of Americana. There are some great songs that are popular roots, bluegrass and old-time songs today that have never been published. There are also great songs that are not well known that should be played and enjoyed.Richard Matteson with Kara Pleasants Wildwood Flower http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KO9Xde2bdwA Paul & Silas http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bv5Tmaff9HQ Meet Me By the Moonlight http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gwzCZfnG64 Scarborough Fair http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grbxMlz_DlI Water is Wide http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-hZkxWs8gs Richard Matteson with Jessica KasterBarbara Allen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uX6PE80W4Pw In the Pines http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtOL9Id5TW4 Hop Along Peter http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5kAzSQ__rU Ain't Gonna Lay my Armor Down http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsBYRuT2_FU

The Green Book, Vol. 1 by Raymond McNeil Pdf

About the Book THE GREEN BOOK, VOL. 1: The Intertwined Musical and Historical Journey by People of Color in America provides a comprehensive exploration of the music that occurred alongside some of American history’s biggest events. This impressive and extensive guide spans from 1380 until 1959. This book's purpose is to share, illuminate, and stick to the positive achievements of the people who’ve helped to spread the message of music. That will include all the musicians, singers, and lyricists who helped the fans to appreciate the various styles of music that we have today. About the Author Raymond was a native of New York City and a product of schools in Brooklyn. He worked in all three levels of government. He has spent the past fifty five years gathering and exploring America’s musical journey. His primary motivation for writing this book was to seek out and amass a stream of verifiable truths. He is a fan of most styles of music, though he does struggle to find a love for hard rock and bluegrass at times. McNeil’s ultimate goal is to share his love of music and history and the ways in which they intertwine together throughout the years.

Traditional Anglo-American Folk Music by Norm Cohen Pdf

Originally published in 1994. Filling a gap in the sound recordings of traditional Anglo-American folk music this volume covers both vocal and instrumental material from the 1920s to the 1990s. The listings have also been limited to performers native to the tradition rather than "revival" performers. The album selection is grouped into field recordings and commercial (pre-1942) recordings, with subdivisions into individual recordings or anthologies. The discography not only reflects its author’s in-depth knowledge of Anglo-American folk music’s historical development but charts a valuable step forward in the evaluation, as well as select lissting, of available sound recordings.
