Breaking the Chains of Poverty by Demetrius Sandridge Pdf

Ronald L. Godbee, Sr. calls it “the book that will liberate you and activate you to live from the position that Christ established for you on the cross.” While many think that the difference between poverty and wealth is defined by the car one drives, the size of the house one lives in and the amount of money in one’s bank account, the truth of the matter is those things are results—or lack thereof—not definitions. In this candid debut book, Breaking the Chains of Poverty: The Secret to Having a Wealthy, Healthy and Wholesome Life, author Demetrius Sandridge helps readers recognize those moments God affords us the opportunity to prosper and come up higher in every aspect of our lives—and how we can maximize those opportunities. Chronicling his story from rags to riches, and riches back to rags, Sandridge ignites a sense of excitement and urgency—which catapults readers out of a poverty mindset into a millionaire mentality with every turn of the page. In this book, you will be challenged to: Transform your mindset to that of a millionaire Learn to use money as a tool, not a motivator of dreams and goals Apply simplistic, practical approaches to go from your current reality to dream fulfillment How to apply action to your faith, and faith to your actions Encourage others to adopt your new way of thinking And more! "Wow, very powerful my friend...Congratulations” -Chris C. Klebba “Read this book, and I guarantee wisdom will come alive in you!” -Pastor Eddie Williams “This book is a fundamental treatise that empowers the reader to understand that though life, at times, may seem intractable and untenable, it can also be liberating and instructive.” -Bishop Edgar L. Vann, II “This book taps into millions of people's minds, souls and spirits like none other!” -Mary Jackson

Poverty Threshold by Fouad Sabry Pdf

What is Poverty Threshold The poverty threshold, poverty limit, poverty line, or breadline is the minimum level of income deemed adequate in a particular country. The poverty line is usually calculated by estimating the total cost of one year's worth of necessities for the average adult. The cost of housing, such as the rent for an apartment, usually makes up the largest proportion of this estimate, so economists track the real estate market and other housing cost indicators as a major influence on the poverty line. Individual factors are often used to account for various circumstances, such as whether one is a parent, elderly, a child, married, etc. The poverty threshold may be adjusted annually. In practice, like the definition of poverty, the official or common understanding of the poverty line is significantly higher in developed countries than in developing countries. First by Lester Nuby Jr. Pdf

Author Lester Nuby Jr. began life in a dilapidated house in Bell Springs Mountain, Alabama, but now he is a successful businessman who doesn't have to worry about money. It wasn't easy for Nuby to scrounge his way out of poverty, a task made more difficult by the fact that his father was murdered just five months before he was born. Nuby understood early on the difference between the "haves" and the "have nots." He made it his mission to break free of the bondage of poverty. By the age of seven, he had already started taking notes that would become the ingredients for a personalized formula for success. By following this formula, Nuby went from being a low-level employee at a company with hundreds of workers to its front office in eight years. When he became president, CEO, and chairman of the board, the company had annual sales of $70 million; he was just thirty-four years old. Join Nuby as he recalls how he broke the chains of poverty to lead companies throughout the world, and take a new view of economic disparity and how to seek justice in First: Breaking Generational Poverty.

Bandwidth Recovery by Cia Verschelden Pdf

Published in association with This book argues that the cognitive resources for learning of over half our young people have been diminished by the negative effects of economic insecurity, discrimination and hostility against non-majority groups based on race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or gender identity, and other aspects of difference. Recognizing that these students are no different than their peers in terms of cognitive capacity, this book offers a set of strategies and interventions to rebuild the available cognitive resources necessary to succeed in college and reach their full potential.Members of these groups systematically experience conditions in their lives that result in chronic stress and, therefore, decreased physical and mental health and social and economic opportunity. The costs of the many kinds of scarcity in their lives – money, health, respect, safety, affirmation, choices, belonging – is seriously reduced “mental bandwidth,” the cognitive and emotional resources needed to deal with making good decisions, learning, healthy relationships, and more. People who are operating with depleted mental bandwidth are less able to succeed in school, starting in childhood, and are much less likely to make it to college. For those who do make it, their bandwidth capacity often interferes with learning, and therefore, persisting and graduating from college. This book presents variety of evidence-based interventions that have been shown, through implementation in high schools and colleges, to help students to regain bandwidth. They are variously intended for application inside and outside the classroom and address not only cognitive processes but also social-psychological, non-cognitive factors that are relevant to the college environment as a whole. Beginning with an analysis of the impacts on mental and physical health and cognitive capacity, of poverty, racism, and other forms of social marginalization, Cia Verschelden presents strategies for promoting a growth mindset and self-efficacy, for developing supports that build upon students’ values and prior knowledge and for creating learning environments both in and out of the classroom so students can feel a sense of belonging and community. She addresses issues of stereotyping and exclusion and discusses institutional structures and processes that create identity-safe rather than identity-threat learning environment. This book is intended for faculty, student affairs professionals, and college and university administrators, all of whom have an interest in creating learning environments where all students have a chance to succeed.
