But for some reason they refuse to investigate further…She'd been told by a mutual friend that if anyone can get to the truth, it’s a man named Henry Walsh. But Henry’s a headstrong, straight-shooter. He’ll take his chances. And he could use the work. Flying at the Edge by Tony Doyle Pdf

This is the autobiography of an outstanding fighter pilot during his twenty year career with the Royal Air Force. Tony Doyle first flew when in the CCF where he complted a glider course and then a highly-prized Flying Scholarship. This opened the way to joining the RAF and becoming an all-weather tactical fighter pilot flying de Havilland Vampires and Gloster Meteors. At this he excelled and was posted as a flying instructor and then Staff Instructor. This was the age when the Jet Provost was the standard training aircraft. During 1962 he was selected to fly with the newly formed Red Pelicans aerobatic display team and honed his skills as a display pilot. Tony moved to RAF Valley as the new Folland Gnat was being introduced in the training role. This diminutive aircraft was somewhat of a breakthrough and after ironing out several design problems it proved a superb aircraft, being fast and agile. The general public were eager to see this new RAF addition and Tony became its display pilot, flying at open days throughout the UK and Europe. In 1964 Tony converted to the English Electric Lightning, Britain’s one and only supersonic fighter, with a top speed in excess of Mach 2 and a ceiling of 50,000 feet. He was posted to Treble One Squadron at Wattisham in October 1964 as part of the Quick Reaction Alert force against potential Russian bomber attacks. Once again he became the Lightning’s chosen low-level display pilot and demonstrated it at the 1965 Paris Air Show. Shortly after this he was forced to eject over the North Cornish coast after an engine explosion cause the loss of elevator control. This fascinating account of front-line and display flying goes into considerable detail of the aerodynamic qualities of the types flown, their dangers and advantages. There are many life-threatening incidents and successes that will educate anyone who is interested in flying at the very edge.

The Third Reading by M. S. Evans Pdf

Three of the four central characters of The Third Reading are heirs to an immense fortune. However, they discover that their benefactor has divided the reading of his last will and testament into three sections, each to be read one month apart. Should any of them miss a reading, their share is to be divided between those that remain. You do remember Janice Macauly, the most oftaEUR"quoted psychoanalyst of the eighties and the fiancée of the deceased? But it wasn't always so. You see, although brilliant, she found it next to impossible to become a member of the maleaEUR"dominated club of those times. Disillusioned by their chauvinism, she authored what was to become a best seller entitled Head aEUR" The Male Ego. As if that wasn't enough, she also agreed to an exposé on Head for Playboy Magazine, which was accompanied by a full nude centerfold! "That's the end of that boisterous bitch," the club prophesied. Jan was then, and remains to this day, a stunningly beautiful woman, and she went on to take "Playmate of the Year" honors. Her career was launched. Brian, the newly departed, had inherited several hundred millions of dollars, then through shrewd and barely legal means had soon finagled his way into a billion. He would have gone on destroying careers and devouring the competition had he not met someone who transformed him from a complete parasite into an environmentalist and philanthropist to worthy causes worldwide. That someone was his brother, Robert, who had vanished some two decades earlier. Those years had been spent in India, Africa, the Far East, Central America, and among Native American Indians delving into the metaphysical and spiritual aspects of life. Then there is Doc, Jan's counterpart, who himself was well renowned in analytical circles, but for reasons far different than she. He had become famous in Hollywood, seemingly overnight, by way of a colossal misunderstanding. An athletic sixaEUR"footaEUR"two and bearing a striking resemblance to the cowboys of old, he became the therapist to see in Glitter City. Everyone who was anyone had to have Doc as their shrink. Unfortunately, he hadn't a clue as to what in the hell he was talking about! However, that shortcoming did little to slow the stampede of the rich and famous who clung to his every word. The Third Reading revolves around the lives of these three during the course of one year in which they become intimately intertwined. Along the way you will meet a dozen or so of Doc's patients, including the worldaEUR"renowned attorney who built his fame and fortune defending the rights and privilege of white supremacists around the country. J. W. Brown III never lost a case. He was the master of ceremonies at every convention from LA to New York. The fact that he was black made little difference to John Brown. All he cared about was the green. Make no mistake, this tale goes far beyond psychiatry, metaphysics, and sex. Among many other subjects, it introduces us to an original and scientifically plausible sister theory to reincarnation. The Third Reading also tackles the question of humankind throughout recorded and prerecorded history: Who or what is God? Moreover, where do we fit into The Plan? About the Author Mark Evans was born in the small Midwestern town of Kewanee, Illinois. In Winnebago Indian speak, that means "prairie chicken". The highlight of each year was Hog Days when the carnival came to town. After graduating from Lakeland College in Wisconsin with a double major in psychology/sociology and a minor in Behavioral Psychology, he pursued his lifelong dream aEUR" traveling. To date he has made good on that desire, visiting over 100 countries, nine of which he made home for more than a year. His business concerns, also allowed him to live in nine of the fortyaEUR"five states he has traveled. Retiring at the ripe old age of fiftyaEUR"one, Mark lives in the southwest corner of Florida with the love of his life. He first met Lisa while working on the island of St. Maarten in 1985. They lost one another. However, by sheer happenstance, they reunited thirty years later, almost to the day on January 15. They have yet to spend a day apart. Mark is currently working on The Fourth (And Final) Reading, which will be available midaEUR"2019.

Best Little Stories: Voices of the Civil War by C. Brian Kelly Pdf

The Civil War You Never Knew... Behind the conflict that divided a nation and forever changed its citizens are the riveting tales of the men and women who made an impact in the Civil War, both on and off the battlefield. Drawn from the writings of soldiers, slaves, politicians, and military leaders, Best Little Stories: Voices of the Civil War extends beyond the statistics and battle accounts to present the intensely personal, human side of the conflict. Fascinating characters come to life, including: James Alexander Walker, who served with honor under Stonewall Jackson, even after he was booted from the Virginia Military Institute for talking back to the notoriously stodgy Professor Jackson. Charles Strahan, a Confederate veteran who made strides to reconcile the Blue and Gray when he raised money to erect a monument to honor his former enemy, the soldiers of the Union army. Gen. Julius H. Stahel, winner of the Medal of Honor, who was egregiously omitted from the official after-action report on the battle of Piedmont, Virginia, despite having led the Union forces to victory after suffering from a gunshot wound.

Opus 19 by Brian Whelihan Pdf

Opus 19: A Collection of 19 Original Short Stories to Uplift the Human Psyche Affected by COVID 19 Pandemic By: Brian Whelihan OPUS 19 consists of nineteen self-contained stories. Some are completely fictional, some are completely nonfictional, and others are a mix. Each story is associated with what the author calls a Ficto-Meter, which designates an approximate percentage fictional, and therefore nonfictional content. In describing all of the stories, they are created from actual experiences or fictional accounts derived from real situations or are derived from lessons that we learn throughout life. Many of them leave the reader with nostalgically provocative thoughts about life. Some are just plain funny. The fictional story of the origin of the word woman is an amusing story about how life might have been 15,000 years ago while the story about how shoes wind up on the roadside is so real and convincing that readers will be looking for shoes on the road. The stories in OPUS 19 are amusing (Flies, Church), provocative (Car, Children, Ton and Speech), nostalgic (Bees), and amazingly true (JFK, Cigarettes, Fish, Simultaneous, Cockroach). Curiosity is a true story of an unlikely experience within a controversial time. The inspiration for these stories came in large part from the grip of the pandemic virus and the opportunity for introspection that came along with it. The author’s hope is that the readers of these stories will have their hearts warmed, their brains stimulated, and perhaps even laugh out loud.
