The noun of this word crescendo speaks of the loudest point reached in a gradually increasing sound. It also speaks of the highest point reached in a progressive increase of intensity. The verb speaks of an increase in loudness or intensity, such as the “reluctant cheers began to crescendo". We are in a spiritual season that is reaching such a crescendo. Several years ago the Lord first spoke about how we are heading into a “season”, therefore, a period of time not determined in length, during which things will get very “intense”. It means that as we consider the word “crescendo”, we are right now in a time where the hostility against God is reaching a very intense stage, and such intensity has progressively increased over the years. It will be a season of great spiritual warfare, where many people will struggle to remain standing. So intense is the hostility and the onslaught, that many believers will actually fall away if they are not found to be settled upon the Rock of Jesus. It is a time of quickening what the Lord is doing, but also a time of a quickening regarding the devil’s work. In such stormy and intense times, we need to learn how to thrive, still make an impact for Christ and fulfil the Great commission. It has been a while since the Lord spoke about restoring the tent of meeting. To understand this, we need to understand that before church, there was the Temple, and before the Temple, there was the tent of meeting in the days of Moses. The tabernacle of meeting evolved in the physical Temple built by Solomon, which evolved among the Gentiles to be mostly church buildings. With the stages of development, especially among Gentiles, the very essence of the tabernacle of meeting as in the days of Moses got lost among the sand of time. The tabernacle in the wilderness was about God meeting with man, and where man could enjoy the presence of the Lord. By the shed Blood of the Lamb, God’s presence is now not contained within a physical structure, for God now makes His home within man by the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, as believers, we have BECOME the tabernacle of meeting. Through our interpretation of church, the tabernacle today sadly remains a physical structure instead a spiritual one. The church of today has evolved away from the foundational concept of divine interaction, relationship and Covenant participation, which forms the spiritual tabernacle (house) in service to God. It is time to rediscover God’s true intent and purpose for the Tabernacle, and how we are to restore what has fallen and become lost over the centuries.

Joy Philip Kakkanattu provides an exegetical and theological analysis of an important and difficult text of the Old Testament through a synchronic and diachronic reading. In the diachronic analysis, the author deals with the origin and formation of Hos 11:1-11.

In Christine Schirrmacher's postdoctoral thesis, for the first time one finds reviews of original voices coming from Islamic theology on the topic of religious freedom and apostasy. Arabic, English, French, and Urdu texts have been translated and analyzed and thus made accessible. There are basically three positions which are defended on falling away from the Islamic faith: Complete advocacy of religious freedom, the complete denial of religious freedom with a call for the immediate application of the death penalty for apostates, and the centrist position. The centrist position, however, which allows inner freedom of thought and warns against premature persecution, calls for the death penalty in the case of open apostasy (e.g., in the case of conversion to another faith). The study explains why in many Muslim majority countries there is still today only very limited or sometimes no freedom of religion (in the sense of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted by the United Nations in 1948) for converts, critical intellectuals, artists and progressive Quranic studies specialists, journalists and secularists, agnostics and confessing atheists, enlightened thinkers, women's rights and human rights activists as well as adherents of non-recognized minorities.
