The Serving Leader by Ken Jennings,John Stahl-Wert Pdf

The Serving Leader Five Powerful Actions to Transform Your Team, Business, and Community, 10th Anniversary Edition, Revised and Expanded It's people who make organizations great, so how can leaders best help their people achieve that greatness? As Ken Jennings and John Stahl-Wert show in this new edition of their bestseller, you can't just demand greatness—you have to inspire it. The most effective leaders don't just stand in front of their people, they stand behind them too. As one of the characters in the book notes, “You qualify to be first by putting other people first.” This concept sounds paradoxical, but it leads to extraordinary outcomes—and The Serving Leader shows precisely how and why. While Jennings and Stahl-Wert use a compelling fictional story to outline the basics of Serving Leadership, all the characters in it are based on real people, the organizations depicted are based on real organizations—and the results they achieved are what really happened. This edition features a new foreword by Ken Blanchard, a new introduction, and a new chapter checking back in with Mike, the main character, to see what he has learned in the twelve years since he embraced Serving Leadership On one level this is the most practical guide available to implementing Serving Leadership; on a deeper level, it is a book about the personal journey of growth that real leadership requires. Great organizations are great because they're filled with people who freely choose to do their very best. It's a maddeningly simple concept yet stunningly hard to execute. Jennings and Stahl-Wert show leaders how to earn that kind of commitment.

The purpose of this book is to provide a comprehensive theoretical framework as well as practical strategies—not just for survival but for a true search for excellence in the uncertain and ever-changing world of customer service management. The theoretical framework is based on the notion that customer service contains three key variables: a promise, a process, and people. After going through the step-by-step process of service management, the reader will have the necessary understanding and skill to choose the right strategy for the right circumstances, to design service processes, to identify the means and methods to implement these processes, and to measure the outcome.

Lead Like It Matters Workbook by Craig Groeschel Pdf

It has been rightly said that "Jesus is the hope of the world." While we can never argue against the importance of the power of the risen Son of God, it is also true that "the local church is the hope of the world." After all, the church is the body of Christ. Jesus manifested himself through the church. And we, as the church, are chosen and called by God to be light in the darkness and give hope to the hopeless. For this reason, it is critical for the body of Christ—both pastors and laypeople alike—to learn how to lead like it matters. In this study guide, which accompanies the book of the same name, pastor and bestselling author Craig Groeschel shares what he has learned in more than twenty-six years of leading LifeChurch. The church began in a borrowed two-car garage, with ratty furnishings and faulty audiovisual equipment, but people were drawn there because they sensed a powerful, life-changing force that Craig calls "it." While exactly what "it" is can be difficult to define, Craig reveals seven factors that contribute to it (or at least don’t kill it): Sessions include: Vision Divine Focus Unmistakable Camaraderie Innovative Minds Willingness to Fall Short Hearts Focused Outward Kingdom-Mindedness Craig also unpacks three important realms that every leader must master: (1) prioritizing mindset over model, (2) creating systems that empower it, and (3) finding a balanced way to lead to stay centered around it. While adopting these seven factors and realms will not guarantee a church will have that "it" factor, it will certainly lead that church toward it. It will help all of us lead like it matters.

Born to Serve by Thomas Thozi Gwanya Pdf

In this book "Born to Serve: A Call to Servant Leadership" I have noted that each one of us is born to fulfil a special and unique purpose in life. Each person must find what that God's plan about one's life is. We will live in a much better world and lead a better life when we are prepared to serve one another. We are born to be leaders in our own homes, extended families, neighbourhood, communities and nation. Servant leadership does not abuse power, does not take advantage of the higher office and thus look down upon those who are being served, those who are followers or dependants. Humility is the prescribed manner of providing a service. A servant leader must be humble and be committed to serve his/ her followers. Some followers, like Peter, will not understand, and perhaps even refuse that their feet be washed by "such big people". Instead they will insist on washing you, or doing things for you. A true servant leader will reject that and insist that "I am here to serve you and not the other way round". When Peter rejected the offer of Jesus to wash his feet, then Jesus nicely explained to him; "If I do not wash you, you will not have part with me". In other words my mandate from the Father who sent me is that I must serve you. Jesus had explained to His disciples that, the manner in which my Father sent me, so do I send you. The manner of rendering the service, the manner of spreading the gospel of Christ shall not deviate from how Jesus did it himself. The one who is a servant is not greater than the one who is being served. The learner is not greater than the teacher. The one who is a servant leader must always take to heart the interests of the one who is being served. The true qualities of a servant leader show up in the manner that the servant leader carries him/ herself; the manner he/ she provides the service, the manner he/ she interacts with the ones served, the manner he/ she follows up to ensure the effectiveness of the service. There is an urgent need for a paradigm shift that those who are providing a service change from being treated or seeing themselves as "masters who must be feared, respected and honoured". The radical change must happen on both sides, the servant's attitude and expectations must change; those who are being served must accept being served by people with authority/ power. As it were they must demand and expect servant leadership. Most public representatives, officials, religious leaders or community workers often treat the recipients of their services with a condescending attitude. It is as though those who are being served must worship those who are servants. Employers themselves must lead by example and demonstrate to their employees how to be a servant leader. It is crucial that we all know what our individual mandate is, and how we are going to fulfil it. Those who are the sent ones must live up to their calling as ambassadors, and thus efficiently and effectively represent the high authority that sent them.

What Great Service Leaders Know and Do by James L. Heskett,W. Earl Sasser Jr.,Leonard A. Schlesinger Pdf

In this book the authors cover every aspect of optimal service leadership: the best hiring, training, and workplace organization practices; the creation of operating strategies around areas such as facility design, capacity planning, queue management, and more; the use - and misuse - of technology in delivering top-level service; and practices that can transform loyal customers into "owners." They describe the world of great service leaders in which "both/and" thinking replaces trade-offs. It's a world in which new ideas will be tested against the sine qua non of the "service trifecta"--Wins for employees, customers, and investors. And it's a world in which the best leaders admit that they don't have the answers and create organizations that learn, innovate, "sense and respond, " operate with fluid boundaries, and seek and achieve repeated strategic success. --

Servant Leadership in Action by Ken Blanchard,Renee Broadwell Pdf

“The only way to create great relationships and results is through servant leadership. It's all about putting other people first.” – from the foreword by John Maxwell We've all seen the negative impact of self-serving leaders in every sector of our society. Not infrequently, they end up bringing down their entire organization. But there is another way: servant leadership. Servant leaders lead by serving their people, not by exalting themselves. This collection features forty-four renowned servant leadership experts and practitioners—prominent business executives, bestselling authors, and respected spiritual leaders—who offer advice and tools for implementing this proven, but for some still radical, leadership model. Edited by legendary business author and lifelong servant leader Ken Blanchard and his longtime editor Renee Broadwell, this is the most comprehensive and wide-ranging guide ever published for what is, in every sense, a better way to lead.

Service Leadership by Richard J. Goossen,Theodore Roosevelt Malloch Pdf

“BR> What will motivate an organization’s employees to be fully engaged in the corporate purpose? How can a company be more supportive of each individual’s pursuit of workplace meaning? Service Leadership answers these questions and more. “Service leadership” is the recognition and cultivation of the varied interests and beliefs of employees on their quest for purpose at work. An organization will not get the most out of its staff unless it respects each individual’s framework for the pursuit of meaning, which is often done in the context of spirituality and religion. Service leadership takes many forms and is not the same for everyone. People can and want to learn how to become service leaders. Service Leadership shows how these ideas can be implemented through a detailed framework. Extensive research confirms that organizations that do not address the existing core belief systems of employees will be disadvantaged in the marketplace. Interviews with top executives at organizations like Whole Foods, Facebook, Gloria Jean’s Coffee, and Costco shed light on how both companies and employees can utilize service leadership to find and keep meaning in the workplace, improving both job happiness and performance.
