My Beloved Friend, JUDAS by Vincent L. Di Paolo Pdf

In the year 2023, after a nuclear Armageddon, only a few pockets of people have survived. One of these groups of survivors, mostly rock climbers and mountaineers, subsists through the leadership of Jude, a biblical archaeologist and rock climber. Jude is given a chance to go back in time by using an invention of a surviving U.S. scientist. Jude is transported back to Palestine during the first century, where he searches for Jesus, to verify if he truly was the Messiah, or a charlatan. Dying from nuclear cancer, Jude spends most of his given time looking for Jesus, finally finding him meditating on a mountaintop. Jude, mesmerized by Ishia’s (Jesus) power becomes his first follower and best friend, Judas. His friendship and his knowledge of Ishia of Nazerat become the pivotal force in the last three years of their lives. Jude becomes the Judas, torn apart between being Ishia’s beloved friend and being his betrayer. The shocking and controversial ending is for you, the reader, to read and discover. It will tear at your very soul but it will rejuvenate and strengthen your faith in Jesus Christ. A must for every Christian to read!

Child Sacrifice in Ancient Israel by Heath D. Dewrell Pdf

Among the many religious acts condemned in the Hebrew Bible, child sacrifice stands out as particularly horrifying. The idea that any group of people would willingly sacrifice their own children to their god(s) is so contrary to modern moral sensibilities that it is difficult to imagine that such a practice could have ever existed. Nonetheless, the existence of biblical condemnation of these rites attests to the fact that some ancient Israelites in fact did sacrifice their children. Indeed, a close reading of the evidence—biblical, archaeological, epigraphic, etc.—indicates that there are at least three different types of Israelite child sacrifice, each with its own history, purpose, and function. In addition to examining the historical reality of Israelite child sacrifice, Dewrell’s study also explores the biblical rhetoric condemning the practice. While nearly every tradition preserved in the Hebrew Bible rejects child sacrifice as abominable to Yahweh, the rhetorical strategies employed by the biblical writers vary to a surprising degree. Thus, even in arguing against the practice of child sacrifice, the biblical writers themselves often disagreed concerning why Yahweh condemned the rites and why they came to exist in the first place.

Epistles of John by Bob Yandian Pdf

John Examines the Power of True Bible Doctrine Through the Lens of Love Before being exiled to the island of Patmos where he wrote the book of Revelation, the apostle John penned three letters to the church at Ephesus. The Ephesian church was the largest in the ancient world and faced, as many churches of that time did, the dangerous doctrines of Jewish legalism and Hellenistic Gnosticism. The church was also dealing with false leaders more interested in gain and fame than in spreading the truth of the gospel. In response, John, who was the church's pastor for a time, wrote the Johannine epistles. And, as in his gospel, John addresses all of these issues through the lens of God’s love. Bob Yandian delves into John’s letters, verse by verse, using context and his own pastoral sagacity to illuminate John’s messages. In doing so, Pastor Yandian first provides historical and biblical background—including observance of the original Greek language—to bring alive the truths in John’s three letters. Pastor Yandian then encourages modern believers to apply these truths in response to God’s pure and unfailing love. Important Johannine themes Pastor Yandian explores in this commentary: The crucial differences between relationship and fellowship with God The reality of and remedy for sin in the believer’s life The outworking of sanctification The saving power of true doctrine The discerning power of the Holy Spirit within In this commentary, not only can readers expect valuable insight into the beloved apostle’s writings, they can also expect a gentle nudge to be more like Jesus and less like the modern church which, like the Ephesians, forgot their first love.

Welcome to the Family by Kevin Dawson Pdf

What does it mean to be a child of God? Adoption is one of the key metaphors in Scripture for becoming a Christian. John 1:12 tells us that those who believe in Jesus have the "right to be called children of God." But rights are of no value unless they are exercised. Many Christians have yet to fully embrace their rights as the children of God. Many believe that it only becomes a reality when we go to Heaven. Yet the Bible clearly teaches that we belong to Christ in this life, and living in His family brings blessings on Earth. To experience life as God's child, we have to stop living in our identity as orphans of sin and choose to dwell in the house of the Lord. Using a powerful, real-life adoption story as an allegory, Kevin Dawson explores the many effects our adoption in Christ has on our lives today and in eternity, and what happens when we encounter life as a child of Yahweh.

Yahweh and the Sun by J. Glen Taylor Pdf

This challenging provocative book argues that there was in ancient Israel a considerable degree of overlap between the worship of the sun and of Yahweh-even that Yahweh was worshipped as the sun in some contexts. As an object created not by humankind but by God himself, the sun as an object of veneration lay outside the bounds of the second commandment and was considered by many to be an appropriate 'icon' of Yahweh of Hosts. Through its ivestigation of 'solar Yahwism', this book offers fresh insight into several passages (e.g.Genesis 1;32.23-33; Joshua 10.12-14; 1 Kings 8.12; Ezekiel 8.16-18; Psalms 19;104) and archaeological data regarding the orientations of Yawistic temples, the "lmlk" jar handles ,horse figurines, and the Taanach cult stand. The book argues that the struggle between Yahweh and other deities in ancint Israel took place within the context of the development of Yahwism itself.

Yahweh's Children by Joseph Lyttleton Pdf

In the early decades of the 21st century, SETI researchers receive the first confirmed transmissions from a long vanished alien species. These messages, transmitting from far beyond our galaxy, arrive as indecipherable gibberish, except for a single word written in an ancient human language. One name: Yahweh."Yahweh's Children" follows three generations of the Priestly family through interweaving timelines. The Priestly men are a stubborn and gently misanthropic tribe, driven equally by their passions and their disdain for their fathers. Wyatt, the patriarch, is a frustrated writer-turned-professor and Luddite, living through one of the most revolutionary moments in human history; frankly, he doesn't care for it.Wyatt and his wife, Mia, have twins: Gwen is charismatic, brash, confident, and outspoken; and then there's Parker. Parker lives in the shadow of his beloved sister, a bitter also-ran in the race for their father's admiration. He grows into a man of reckless affection, flitting from marriage to marriage, seeking an ever elusive contentment, with his children always in the dust.Nearly 50 years after the reception of the first "Yahweh Messages," Parker's eldest son, Alex, lives in a world haphazardly transformed by alien technology. Alex, a journalist, stumbles upon a mysterious government project involving the alien messages that may hold the key to the next stage of human evolution. Or it may herald the death of Yahweh's Children.A novel about who we are, who we've been, and who we will become, "Yahweh's Children" is a sharply satirical but entirely plausible alternate history of the 21st century.
