Christ's Ambassadors by Robert B. Callahan Sr. Pdf

The Apostle Paul, in exercising his ineffable wisdom, draws this magnificent letter to a close in an extraordinary manner. Certainly, he could have concluded it after telling the masters and servants how to treat one another. But, no, he did not. He proceeded to challenge them to become Christ's Ambassadors and to be proficient in this high calling, despite the daily obstacles, pressures, and temptations. What does Paul boldly state after having told Christ's followers, [t]hat we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight (trickery) of men and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive? That they will have a life of ease, no problems or worries, and no challenges, disappointments, or hardships? No! But, he did tell them how to conduct themselves in all of life's different phases. Further, that they were to walk in love, as Christ hath also loved us, and that not everyone hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Paul, contra to the practice today of many preachers, teachers, and church officers, knew the problems that Christ's followers faced and he boldly addressed them. He unequivocally stated that there were things appointed for them to do. Knowing these things and the difficulties encountered in following Christ, he issued a battle call to each and every follower, saying, take (up) unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand in the evil day, and having done all to stand. Paul was forthright in describing the benefits and challenges of Walking With Jesus as well as the attitude, conduct, and conversation precluding one from entering the kingdom of Christ and God. If we are to be Christ's Ambassadors, whether it be preacher, teacher, church officer, or professing Christian, we are to know our duties and carry them out resolutely. What are they? They include, but are not limited to: discharging their duties honorably; being loyal subjects; following instructions; knowing the Word; and obeying Christ's commands. May we, along with Paul, pray the following with humility and sincerity: For which I am an ambassador . . . that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak as one of His ambassadors

Christ's Ambassadors by Edward J. Jones Pdf

From what we see around us, we can conclude our beloved country is going in the wrong direction. We have felt safe while Christians around the world have been suffering incredible religious persecution. It is catching up to us. There is a growing cooperative relation between the government and several private groups to repress any Christian expression. Openly practicing our faith is under attack. God has appointed His believers to be His ambassadors to this world and has called us to stand up and defend the faith (1 Peter 3:15; 2 Corinthians 5:20). This book examines the forces that resist our openly witnessing for the faith. We will examine the world, the flesh, and the Devil and look at their interaction with man. Hopefully, we will open a supportive dialogue between ambassadors. Dr. Edward Jones is a seventy-five-year-old man living in a senior complex in central Florida. He led an active life prior to 1995 when he became disabled. Writing replaced preaching. In addition to his books, he writes for the Crossroads Bible Institute and is chairmen of his church’s prison ministry. He brings to his writing a unique balance between the spiritual and the secular. His books reflect the interplay of the two. Other books include Come up Hither and The Joy of Fellowship. Christ’s Ambassadors is his third book. All his books reflect his deep commitment to Biblical inerrancy.

Speak Good News by David Schaal Pdf

If one word evokes discomfort when spoken to Christ-followers and non-Christ-followers alike, it would be the word “evangelism.” For the Christ-follower, this word brings feelings of guilt, shame, and inadequacy. They know that, at some level, they should be participating in evangelistic activities, but they are not. My passion is to see Christ-followers intentionally engaging people in spiritual conversations. I wrote this book to educate and encourage Christ-followers in the beauty of sharing the love of Jesus with others. Speak Good News aims to change the less-than-favorable reputation associated with evangelism. This book will encourage and equip Christ-followers to confidently engage in spiritual conversations with individuals they experience life with. I do this by taking a historical look at evangelism, its purest meaning, and offering a fresh lens for the Church to view evangelism. I identify misconceptions and barriers that keep faithful Christ-followers from sharing the wonderful story of Jesus with others. It nudges believers into the shallow end of the “gospel pool” while encouraging them to engage in simple spiritual conversations about Jesus with others.
