Heaven on Earth by R. Alan Streett Pdf

The future hope of heaven is pulled into the here-and-now in this illuminating description of the kingdom of God. Popular teacher and author R. Alan Streett exposes half-truths about the kingdom that many believers have unwittingly accepted. He contrasts these with the testimony of Scripture: Jesus inaugurated the kingdom of God on the earth—it has already begun. As ambassadors of the kingdom, we are to fulfill our responsibilities and enjoy its benefits here and now. Salvation does not culminate with the soul escaping the body and living forever in heaven. Our bodies will eventually be transformed, and we will live with God on a restored earth. The church is like an embassy of heaven in a foreign country. In their life together, believers demonstrate kingdom realities to the world. Readers will find hope and direction in this fresh presentation of the historic teaching on the kingdom.

Easton's Bible Dictionary by M. G. Easton Pdf

Easton's Bible Dictionary is a classic book of definitions which serves to explain and clarify the meaning of the names, places, and words found in the Bible. Many Christians and scholars who read the Bible often remain unawares of the meanings or significance of the Holy Book's vocabulary. Such words are often derived from Ancient Hebrew or other old scripts, which makes it even more difficult for readers who only speak English to understand. Location names, in the context of ancient geography, are likewise hard to scrutinize - yet Easton's Dictionary not only explains what these places are, but their size and overall impact across the entire Bible. First published in 1893, this dictionary uses the authoritative King James Bible as its source. As well as containing definitions and accounts of the many terms found throughout the Old and New Testaments, Easton's Bible Dictionary points out the significance of certain things and exactly where mentions of such phenomena appear in the Bible. The presence and significance of iron, for example, is noted in the Books of Genesis, Chronicles, Ezekiel, Deuteronomy, Isaiah, Job, Joshua, Kings and in the Psalms. Individuals in the Bible are also given biographical definitions. Through Easton's referencing of the names, we can discover the exact Bible passages where such figures are mentioned. Likewise we hear of terms relevant to the life of the ancient peoples; the term 'Levy' for instance is shown to equate to a form of involuntary recruitment which kings ordered. Words in frequent use today, such as 'Schism', are also shown to originate from the Bible. Other words we use today - such as 'Teeth', are shown to have been informal terms: 'cleanness of teeth' in Amos 4:6 denotes an outbreak of famine, for example. Many of the parables and tales of the Bible are retold in abbreviated form in Easton's Bible Dictionary. These retold anecdotes reference other relevant passages, further evidencing how the various portions of the Bible are interconnected and related to one another. Such a style also gives this unconventional dictionary a flowing quality, making it easier for the reader to enjoy large tracts of this text without pause. The ancient world of the Biblical canon is given life and color by Easton's descriptions. Primarily however, Easton's masterwork is designed for reference. Yet it not only defines the individual entries, but places these entries in their proper context throughout both the Old and New Testaments. Owing to this wealth of information, the reader may perceive that Easton's Dictionary is not merely a book of definitions, but an authoritative and significant work of classic Christian literature.

Your Kingdom Come by Alec N. Capay Pdf

In this book, you will discover Gods will and purpose in bringing heaven to earth. For too long, we have desired and yearned to leave earth, along with all its problems and complications, without ever longing to see Gods kingdom and will established on earth. Jesus prayed, "Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." This was not necessarily the model prayer, but what we should literally be praying. We must pray that His kingdom comes to invade the earth and our lives. We must pray that His will be done. The author explains and answers several key questions pertaining to the Kingdom of God, such as: what is Gods Kingdom? Is Gods Kingdom here and now? What is my role in this Kingdom? And so on. Alec unveils hidden truths from Scripture and challenges modern day theology concerning Gods Kingdom. As you open its pages, you will begin to understand and experience a different meaning of our mandate and responsibility as children and citizens of God. Come along as we discover the power, majesty, and beauty of Gods Kingdom that will revolutionize your life and ministry.

The Kingdom of God by Nicholas Perrin Pdf

In the last hundred and fifty years the kingdom of God has emerged as one of the most important topics in theology, New Testament studies, and the life of the church. But what exactly is the kingdom of God? What does it mean for the people of God and what does it mean for how they live in the world? In The Kingdom of God, part of the Biblical Theology for Life series, Nicholas Perrin explores this dominant biblical metaphor, one that is paradoxically the meta-center and the mystery in Jesus' proclamation. After survey interpretations by figures from Ritschl to N. T. Wright, Perrin examines the "what, who, and how" questions of the kingdom. In his sweepingly comprehensive study, Perrin contends that the kingdom is inaugurated in Jesus' earthly ministry, but its final development awaits later events in history. In between the times, however, the people of God are called to participate in the reign of God by living out the distinctly kingdom-ethic through hope, forgiveness, love, and prayer. X

Heaven Misplaced by Douglas Wilson Pdf

Though most Christians refrain from predicting exactly when our world will end, many believe that when earth's finale does arrive, it will be a catastrophe. They expect that before Christ comes back to reclaim His own, Satan will escape his chains and return to wreak havoc on our planet. Details vary, but the general assumption is the same: things will get much, much worse before they get better. But is this really what the Bible teaches? Leaving aside the theological terms that often confuse and muddle this question, Douglas Wilson instead explains eschatology as the end of the greatest story in the world - the story of humanity. He turns our attention back to the stories and prophecies of Scripture and argues for "hopeful optimism": the belief that God will be true to His promises, that His will shall be done on earth as it is in heaven, and that the peace and good will we sing about at Christmas will one day be a reality here on earth.

The Age of Promise by Randy Robison Pdf

The past provides a blueprint for the present and promises hope for the future. Many Christians struggle to understand Old Testament teachings. We look at the laws and rituals and wonder how those long-ago practices could possibly be relevant to our lives now. Randy Robison believes they are not only necessary but are, in fact, vital to a closer walk with Jesus. In The Age of Promise, Robison introduces us to ten foundational promises made in the Old Testament and transformed in Christ, ten mysteries now revealed in Jesus that offer us a deeper, more powerful relationship with the Father. These ten promises, which bring God’s intricate plan of redemption to fulfillment, include: The promise of deliverance The promise of the chosen people The promise of the temple And much, much more! When we learn from the past and apply it to the present, we determine our future. The Age of Promise invites us to uncover the glorious riches of our heritage of faith and experience real transformation in our everyday lives. With the light of Christ shining on the shadows of the past, we develop a more complete perspective and discover a deeper, more powerful relationship with the eternal Father who is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Christ's Kingdom on Earth by Jas; L. Meagher Pdf

Excerpt from Christ's Kingdom on Earth: Or, the Church and Her Divine Constitution, Organization, and Framework, Explained for the People There never was and there never will be on earth an institution, so wonderful and so worthy of our study as the Catholic Church. She comes down from God the son, as he came from his eternal Father, and coming to earth, she continues his work of redemption. She is the extension and the continuation of the atonement of Christ. The Holy Spirit, coming from Father and Son, comes down to earth to form the church out of the scattered children of Adam, binding all christians into the Mystic Body of Christ. The Son, her Head, the Holy Ghost, her Soul, the church penetrates to all nations, teaching with the authority of God, redeeming every member of the fallen race, raising up men weighted with sin, healing the diseases of society, preparing her members for the glories of heaven. Happy the peoples who sit at her feet, listening to her teachings, feeding on her sacraments, dwelling in peace under her laws. Bride of the Lamb of God who taketh away the sins of his members, the heavenly Jerusalem, the City of God, formed of the chosen people, she fills the world with the glories of her Founder. In the following pages will be found complete explanations of her divine constitution and her organization, which enabled her to survive the numerous revolutions, which overturned every human institution of the ancient world, showing how she flows down from the divine nature of "The Word of God." Heaven--Here and Now by David McLaughlan Pdf

If life is a test of sorts, a journey preparing us for heaven—shouldn’t there be bits of heaven around us already? This book unveils them! In the book of Matthew, Jesus repeatedly describes heaven—and each time He uses ordinary, earthly examples. This world has many wonderful and mysterious aspects that we might think better suited to describe something as magnificent as heaven—but Jesus uses mustard seeds, hiring workers, children, and weeds as examples. Heaven—Here and Now considers those examples—chosen for a different culture in a different time—and applies them to the here and now, to the everyday stuff of our ordinary lives. It’s a beautiful preview of heaven.

It's All About The Kingdom, Volume One by Rev. Larry A. Brookins Pdf

This Book embodies the expectations and aspirations of 'Kingdom people' as expounded in a series of 10 sermons, through which the inspiration of the Holy Spirit conveyed unto me to share with you. The topics are: Kingdom Commitment, Kingdom Greatness, Kingdom Priorities, Kingdom Investments, Kingdom Focus, Kingdom Economics, Kingdom Purpose, Kingdom Attitudes, Kingdom Characteristics and Kingdom Privilege. Throughout the teachings of New Testament Scripture the theme of the Kingdom is central. John the Baptist preached the Kingdom and Jesus Himself commenced His earthly ministry on the same topic: "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand" (Matt 4:17). At a matter of fact, at the heart of Jesus' commandments for His followers is the decree of Matthew 6:33, "But seek ye first the Kingdom of God." As disciples of Christ, we are encouraged to walk in the footsteps of Jesus (1 Peter 2:2 & 1 John 2:6) and to take on the very mindset of Christ (Philippians 2:5). In this we are called "Christians," and in this, we showcase to the world from generation to generation that "It's all about the Kingdom!"

Let the Nations be Glad by John Piper Pdf

'Mission is not the ultimate goal of the church. Worship is. Missions exist because worship doesn't. Worship is ultimate.' John Piper's contemporary classic draws on key biblical texts to demonstrate that worship is the ultimate goal of the church and that proper worship fuels missionary outreach. Piper offers a biblical defence of God's supremacy in all things, providing a sound theological foundation for missions. He examines whether Jesus is the only way to salvation and issues a passionate plea for God-centredness in the missionary enterprise, seeking to define the scope of the task and the means for reaching 'all nations'. Let the Nations Be Glad! is a trusted resource for missionaries, pastors, church leaders, youth workers, seminary students, and all who want to connect their labours to God's global purposes. This third edition has been revised and expanded throughout and includes new material on the 'prosperity gospel'.
