In the Way of Jesus by Paul D. Kroeker Pdf

A revolutionary love movement is circling the globe. Broken lives are being transformed and the love of Jesus is being gossiped into the most remote regions of the planet. However, in the West, the church is in decline. The brand image is broken. Christianity is not seen as radical or revolutionary and some of those who claim to be "Christian," seem to bear little resemblance to the life and teachings of Jesus. Through national and international engagement in Christian ministry, Paul Kroeker has witnessed this development firsthand. He has come to realize that "Though we thought we were rich, we are really poor, and though we thought they were poor, the international church has the riches we need to live the abundant life Jesus describes" (inspired by Revelation 3:14-22). In the Way of Jesus takes readers on a journey of renewed hope found in the person of Jesus Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit. Through personal anecdotes and biblical insights, Kroeker lays out the path of discipleship that leads to an intimate relationship with Jesus: "When someone has been with Jesus, their love becomes authentic and compelling. They eagerly share what Jesus has done for them. Their joy is infectious. They are an open book-evidence of God's love and forgiveness. Their love for one another becomes extraordinary and reveals the good news of the Kingdom of God. Brand image and reality are one and the same. This alone will lead to the awakening of the church in the West, allowing for a new tide of God's redeeming love to move across our nation and heal our land." In the way of Jesus you become a disciple who will love, live and serve like him. Love, Live, Serve like Jesus.

DiscipleShift by Jim Putman,Bobby Harrington Pdf

Question: What is the God-given purpose of the local church? Answer: Relational discipleship. DiscipleShift walks you through five key "shifts" that churches must make to refocus on the fundamental biblical mission of discipleship. These intentional changes will attract the world and empower your church members to be salt and light in their communities. Over the last thirty years, many influential church leaders and church planters in America have adopted various models for reaching unchurched people. While many of these approaches have merit, something is still missing, something even more fundamental to the mission of the church: discipleship. Making disciples—helping people to trust and follow Jesus—is the church's God-given mandate. Devoted disciples attract people outside the church because of the change others see in their Christ-like lives. And discipleship empowers Christians to be more like Christ as they intentionally develop relationships with non-believers. Through biblical and professional insights, Jim Putman and Bobby Harrington discuss the transformational effectiveness of making disciples and just how to do so, in practical terms. You’ll learn: The specific roles of a disciple-making pastor. The components of person-to-person discipleship. How each ministry in your church leads to discipleship. How to implement discipleship in your church. Disciple-making leaders will not produce perfect churches, but they will create effective churches.

Follow Me by J Lee Grady Pdf

God has placed the next generation into our hands. Who will raise them up if the church does not? This book will teach you how to effectively mentor the next generation of Christians. You will learn how to disciple others in their faith while getting outside of your comfort zone to increase your relationship with God. If we want to change the world with the gospel, we must stop focusing on crowds and events and reclaim Jesus’ method of relational discipleship. Jesus’ final mandate to His followers was “Go and make disciples”—yet today most of the church is oblivious to what discipleship is, and few Christians are actually investing their lives in helping other believers grow spiritually. A vast paradigm shift is needed in the church today in order to reach the next generation and advance the gospel in the twenty-first century. In Follow Me, J. Lee Grady uses many New Testament examples, as well as his own experience in mentoring dozens of young leaders and a clear strategy for discipling others that can be used by individuals and churches. Grady makes a compelling case that Christianity was never intended to be a spectator sport where huge crowds sit and listen to one preacher on a Sunday. Jesus intended all believers to engage in ministry—and this includes the work of discipling other believers. So many Christians today live in a box of limitation. We must understand that the Christian life is an adventure of the Holy Spirit working through them. This book will help believers get out of that box and begin the exciting adventure of spiritual multiplication.

Making Disciples by Sylvia Wilkey Collinson Pdf

The Christian faith community regards the making of disciples as a prime directive of Jesus himself, though this theme is not dominant in contemporary models of teaching in the church. This investigation seeks to develop a theory of discipling and to test its congruence as an effective educational strategy with the objectives of modern Christian faith communities. After briefly examining the discipling model of teaching as practiced in the world of the Ancient Near East, a detailed study of New Testament texts investigates the practice of discipling by Jesus and his followers and in the church of the first century. An understanding of the concept of discipling is gained by gradually refining its definition as the study progresses through a contemporary examination of other informal models of education. Religious and educational research findings are explored to enable the validity of the discipling model to be determined. Finally, the definition is used as a benchmark to examine various contemporary educational theories within the community of faith. In contrast to the schooling model, discipling has been shown to be an effective model for teaching attitudes, values, and behavior as well as knowledge and beliefs in today's church. Its emphasis on commitment to learning relationships within a nurturing community and active involvement in the mission of Christ to the world, and its capacity to adapt to differences in age, culture, ability, and interests, make it a model of teaching worthy of much greater attention by the Christian faith community.

Everyday Disciple Making: Growing the Church Christ's Way by Michael Kramer Pdf

People, not programs, make disciples. The call to disciple making is for every believer not just the ministry professional. Jesus modeled disciple making, and as His disciples we are called to follow His example. Michael Kramer examines all aspects of disciple making and offers a straightforward and simple plan to equip the church. He encourages Christians and ministry leaders to think critically about disciple making and to commit to Jesus' Great Commission. Michael makes the convincing argument that our willingness to engage in personal disciple making will deepen our own walks with Jesus and create a movement within our churches, communities, and countries that will impact generations for the sake of Christ.

Go and Make Disciples by Reuven Ross,Yanit Ross Pdf

The purpose of Go and Make Disciples! is to encourage personal spiritual growth and give vision for investing into others. God chose disciple making as His ultimate means of winning the entire world, but most believers are made into disciples as a by-product of general church ministry; they have not had someone to personally invest in them. If there is a shortcut to maturity in the kingdom of God, it is when mature, godly believers purposefully impart the Word of God to teachable men and women who want to grow in the Lord. Just as Jesus had a strategy for making disciples and developing leaders, so should we. Having a vision for making disciples means understanding the Lord's purposes in spending most of His ministry time with just twelve men. Jesus' disciples received the full explanation of His teachings and the benefit of personal friendship with Him. Because this is still the Lord's heart for those who believe in Him, we who are His true disciples must be willing to invest in others as Jesus did. We need to see that it is “God's normal” for us to intentionally make disciples since Jesus modeled it, commanded it, and trained His men to do it. Strategic disciple making is still the Lord's ordained method for building the Church and preparing ministries. The Lord wants to have an equipped army ready to reap the harvest and conserve it as He again sends revival throughout the world. In the face of the persecution that will accompany the revival, it is disciplined believers who will remain faithful and endure to the end. Therefore, it is expedient that people not only find Jesus as their Messiah, but also that they yield to His lordship, mature into His likeness as His disciple, and invest their lives in discipling others. Our Master's last words should be our first priority! In all four gospels, Jesus commands His followers to evangelize and make disciples as their chief ministry among men. This is evidenced in the significance of the “net” used to catch fish in the Sea of Galilee in Israel. The net had a twofold purpose: to catch the fish and to keep them in the boat. Catching the fish is equivalent to evangelism and salvation, and keeping them in the boat is equivalent to discipleship and sanctification. Notice the last words of Jesus before He ascended back to Heaven as recorded in the gospels:“Go and make disciples of all the nations…” (Matt. 28:19). “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15).“… repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations…” (Luke 24:47)To Peter and to those of us who love Him, He says, “…feed My lambs…tend My sheep…feed My sheep” (John 21:15-17).Reuven and Yanit Ross are international Bible teachers. American-born, they have lived in Israel and South Africa over the last three decades, and have had the additional privilege of ministering in numerous other nations. The Rosses have no natural children; they love the spiritual children that God has allowed them to invest in, many of whom are leaders today. They have authored six other books which are described on their website @ www.making-disciples.net

Walking as Jesus Walked by Dann L. Spader Pdf

Jesus must be our model for ministry. Sounds obvious, right? Or is it? Jesus, in all His humanity (and all His divinity) shows us the best possible way to live. Through the way He lived, He modeled the priorities of how to multiply “much fruit.” Following Jesus' example, His disciples then changed the course of history. How then can we follow Jesus’ example? We must study His life. How did Jesus pray? In what types of relationships did He invest? Where were His priorities? Can my priorities be His priorities? Can I walk like He walked? What we do with Jesus MATTERS. Global ministry trainer Dann Spader practically and helpfully walks us through 10 weeks of exciting, ministry-altering study to really begin to walk as Jesus walked.
