Abraham and Chedorlaomer: Chronological, Historical and Archaeological Evidence by Gerard Gertoux Pdf

Historians consider the biblical account about Chedorlaomer's campaign against Sodom (1954 BCE) as a pious fiction. However, the Gospels refer to it as a real story (Heb 7:1) and a chronological reconstruction based on synchronisms shows that, among dynasties from Sumerian lists, the 3rd and last Elamite king of the Awan I dynasty was Kudur-Lagamar (1990-1954). The Spartoli tablets (c. 650 BCE) describe this famous attack of Babylonia by a coalition of evil kings named Kudur-KUKUmal, king of Elam, Tud

80 Old Testament Characters of World History: Chronological, Historical and Archaeological Evidence by Gerard Gertoux Pdf

Despite the fact that the name of many characters mentioned in the Old Testament, like David, King of Israel, have been recently confirmed by archaeology as well as their epoch and the events in which they were involved, most archaeologists continue to deny the historicity of the Bible they view as pious fiction or a mythical account. They argue that the major events in the Bible such as the victory of Abraham against Chedorlaomer, an unknown king of Elam around 2000 BCE, the victory of Moses against an unknown Pharaoh around 1500 BCE or the victory of Esther, an unknown Persian Queen, against an unknown vizier of Xerxes, never existed because they left absolutely no evidence. They also explain that according to what we know today, these events could not have occurred. These logical arguments are impressive but a precise chronological analysis based on absolute dates, coupled with a rigorous historical investigation, shows that all those major events really took place at the dates and places indicated.

Moses and the Exodus Chronological, Historical and Archaeological Evidence by Gerard Gertoux Pdf

The existence Moses as well as the Exodus is a crucial question because, according to the Bible, the character related to that famous event forms the basis of the Passover which meant the Promised Land for Jews and later the Paradise for Christians. However, according to most Egyptologists, there is absolutely no evidence of Moses and the Exodus in Egyptian documents, which leads them to conclude that the whole biblical story is a myth written for gullible people. However, according to Egyptian accounts the last king of the 15th dynasty named Apopi, “very pretty”, which was Moses' birth name (Ex 2:2), reigned 40 years in Egypt (1613-1573) and met Seqenenre Taa, 40 years later, the last pharaoh of the 17th dynasty who died in May 1533 BCE in dramatic and unclear circumstances (Ps 136:15). The state of his mummy proves that his body received severe injuries and remained abandoned for several days before being mummified. The eldest son of Seqenenre Taa, Ahmose Sapaïr, who was crown prince died in a dramatic and unexplained way shortly before his father (Ex 12:29). Prince Kamose, Seqenenre Taa's brother, assured interim of authority for 3 years and threatened attack the former pharaoh Apopi, new prince of Retenu (Palestine) who took the name Moses, according to Manetho, an Egyptian priest and historian. In the stele of the Tempest, Kamose also blames Apopi for all the disasters that come to fall upon Egypt, which caused many deaths. Ironically, those who believe Egyptologists are actually the real gullible ones

US Marine Corps Fighter Squadrons of World War II by Barrett Tillman Pdf

The US Marine Corps has a long heritage of aviation excellence, a reputation that was largely built on the impact and performance of the “flying leathernecks” in the bitter fighting in the Pacific during World War II. As the US island-hopping campaign against Japan gathered pace, US Marine Corps fighter squadrons operating legendary Grumman and Vought aircraft became instrumental in the success of amphibious assaults and in breaking fierce enemy resistance, engaging Japanese attack aircraft in the skies and ground-based targets while supporting and protecting US ground forces. The flying legends Marion Carl, Greg “Pappy” Boyington, Joe Foss and others were all World War II Marine fighter pilots, taking to the skies in Corsairs, Wildcats, Venturas and Hellcats. Aviation historian Barrett Tillman's comprehensive account US Marine Corps Fighter Squadrons of World War II pays homage to these individuals and their mounts, and is packed with historic and organizational details of the squadrons who took to the skies above the Pacific.

A Chronological History of Australian Composers and Their Compositions by Stephen Pleskun Pdf

This book is volume 1 of a 4 volume series, the first 3 of which have been published by Xlibris and the 4th almost complete for imminent delivery. In its entirety this work is the most comprehensive and accurate account of Australian Classical Music making ever undertaken. The 4 volumes cover the period from 1901-2012 and include more than 800 composers, famous and obscure, with more than 30,000 compositions including details of their premieres (where, when and by whom). Individual performers, ensembles, orchestras, opera and ballet companies, music educators, instrument makers, entrepreneurs, academics, philanthropists, musicologists and critics are included as part of the story. The foundation and demise of music institutions, venues and festivals is recorded chronologically. Altogether an extensive picture of Australian Classical Music production and performance can be gleaned in any given year. This book is distinct insofar as it can be read conventionally (from cover to cover): or one may choose a composer/performer and follow his/her career year by year; or one may open the book at random and delight in the unusual and esoteric information therein. This book, and its companion volumes are valuable and indispensible works for the serious music student, professional musician, performing amateur, cultural aficionado and inquisitive lay person and should be in the library of every reputable music conservatorium worldwide.

Noah and the Deluge: Chronological, Historical and Archaeological Evidence by Gerard Gertoux Pdf

Historians consider the biblical account of Noah and the Deluge as a myth. However, this famous event occurred at the earliest times of recorded history (Sumerian King List). Today scientists believe in the last ice age called Pleistocene ending in 10,000 BCE, but there is no witness of this planetary cataclysmic event and its existence is based solely on the controversial interpretation of its consequences and their dating. The existence of erratic blocks and the disappearance of mammoths are presented as evidence of the last glaciation. However, despite dating obtained by 14C (calibrated by dendrochronology) is considered absolute by most experts its confrontation with the Egyptian chronology, in which some dates are fixed by astronomy, reverses this widespread belief and shows that dates obtained by 14C increase exponentially before -2200. Thus the rate of 14C tends gradually to 0 around -3500, which implies an important consequence: before -3500, 14C dating is no longer possible.

Amazing Mathematicians - A Short eBook by Charles Margerison Pdf

Mathematics is the science of numbers. However, have you ever stopped to ask - who are the people behind the amazing formulas that have helped mankind find solutions to everyday probabilities? The Amazing People Club invites you to explore the exciting world of five amazing mathematicians. Their inspirational stories were not always about number crunching as we know it, as they strived in the search for 'truth' via theory. Gain an insight into how George Boole was inspired to combine logic with mathematics to reduce risks, developing calculations that although complex, enabled people to make better judgements. Immerse yourself in the life of Ada Lovelace, the "Enchantress of Numbers". Her intellect and skill in mathematics led to her developing a plan for calculating sequence, which is now recognized as the first computer program. Be inspired by the genius minds of Rene Descartes, Carl Gauss and Alan Turing, whose skills within mathematics, science and technology have formed the basis for how we still assess probabilities and find solutions to this very day. Each story comes to life through BioViews®. These are short biographical narratives, similar to interviews. They provide an easy way of learning about amazing people who made major contributions and changed our world.
