Catalogue of the Coins in the Indian Museum Calcutta - Mughal Emperors of India by H. Nelson Wright Pdf
This is a comprehensive volume containing a catalogue of the coins of the Mughal Emperors, or as they styled themselves on their coins Badshahs, of India from the time of Babar (A.H. 932 - A.D. 1526) to the deposition of Bahadur II by the English (A.H. 1274 - A.D. 1858). It proves to be a reliable index to the geographical limits of the empire in its varying fortunes, owing to the custom of issuing money from many of the most important provincial centres, as well as at the capital, and of recording on the coin the mint from which it was issued. Author: H.Nelson Wright Language: English Keywords: Mughal Emperors Of India Many of the earliest books, particularly those dating back to the 1900s and before, are now extremely scarce and increasingly expensive. Obscure Press are republishing these classic works in affordable, high quality, modern editions, using the original text and artwork.

Catalogue of Coins in the Panjab Museum, Lahore, Vol. 2 by R. B. Whitehead Pdf
Excerpt from Catalogue of Coins in the Panjab Museum, Lahore, Vol. 2: Coins of the Mughal Emperors Research in that branch of Indian numismatics comprising the issues of the Mughal Emperors of India, is a growth of recent date. Mr. C. J. Rodgers of Amritsar was the first regular worker on these important coins. As his Mughal Cabinet has now been merged into a combined Collection of all the coins of this series in the Museum, the Catalogue of which will supersede his own, I feel that this is a fitting place in which to pay a tribute to his work. He inherited the numismatic traditions of General Cunningham, and was at first a worker in the same field, that of the ancient coins of India. He soon quitted this to specialize in the coins of Dehli, and the numerous papers on this subject from his pen which appeared principally in the Journal of the Asiatic Society of Bengal between the years 1880 and 1895, testify to his industry and enthusiasm. They were beautifully illustrated from his own drawings. The Supplements to Edward Thomas's Chronicles of the Pathan Kings of Dehli deserve special mention. Mr. Rodgers' numismatic labours were crowned by the production of Catalogues of the Indian Museum Collec tions, and of the Government Collection and his own Cabinet in the Lahore Museum. These were completed by the year 1894, and were followed by one or two more papers. Mr. Rodgers died in the year 1897.
