Human Anatomy Lab Manual by Malgosia Wilk-Blaszczak Pdf

This is a lab manual for a college-level human anatomy course. Mastery of anatomy requires a fair amount of memorization and recall skills. The activities in this manual encourage students to engage with new vocabulary in many ways, including grouping key terms, matching terms to structures, recalling definitions, and written exercises. Most of the activities in this manual utilize anatomical models, and several dissections of animal tissues and histological examinations are also included. Each unit includes both pre- and post-lab questions and six lab exercises designed for a classroom where students move from station to station. The vocabulary terms used in each unit are listed at the end of the manual and serve as a checklist for practicals.

Anatomy & Physiology by Michael P. McKinley,Valerie Dean O'Loughlin,Theresa Stouter Bidle Pdf

"Human anatomy and physiology is a fascinating subject. However, students can be overwhelmed by the complexity, the interrelatedness of concepts from different chapters, and the massive amount of material in the course. Our goal was to create a textbook to guide students on a clearly written and expertly illustrated beginner's path through the human body. An Integrative Approach One of the most daunting challenges that students face in mastering concepts in an anatomy and physiology course is integrating related content from numerous chapters. Understanding a topic like blood pressure, for example, requires knowledge from the chapters on the heart, blood vessels, kidneys, and how these structures are regulated by the nervous and endocrine systems. The usefulness of a human anatomy and physiology text is dependent in part on how successfully it helps students integrate these related concepts. Without this, students are only acquiring what seems like unrelated facts without seeing how they fit into the whole. To adequately explain such complex concepts to beginning students in our own classrooms, we as teachers present multiple topics over the course of many class periods, all the while balancing these detailed explanations with refreshers of content previously covered and intermittent glimpses of the big picture. Doing so ensures that students learn not only the individual pieces, but also how the pieces ultimately fit together. This book represents our best effort to replicate this teaching process. In fact, it is the effective integration of concepts throughout the text that makes this book truly unique from other undergraduate anatomy and physiology texts"--

Study Guide to Human Anatomy and Physiology 2 by Michael T. Harrell Pdf

Welcome everyone to your guide to Human Anatomy & Physiology 2! This text will cover endocrine system, blood, heart, arteries, veins, lymphatic system, respiratory system, digestive system, urinary system, water, electrolytes, acids, reproductive system and development. I have been teaching college level human anatomy and physiology for many years, as well as other courses. My other classes taught have included: pathophysiology, biology, zoology, microbiology, and others. In this time I have seen thousands of students. I have learned through the years the best ways to learn the most information in the least amount of time. There are two ways to study, smart or hard. If you will follow my information and learn the key points of each chapter, you will make an excellent grade in your A&P class. In each chapter concentrate your efforts on learning the key terms. The key terms are the ones you are most likely to see on your exams. Learn to associate words and how to connect them. For example, anatomy is the study of the structure of the human body. Look at the key words in this sentence, anatomy and structure. Learn how to pick out these key terms and remember them, not the entire sentence or paragraph full of information. When given a paragraph, page or whatever; just memorize the key words and then learn how to associate them. Learn what they have in common and be able to speak from one word to the next. This will be the best way to learn your anatomy text. I will make the assumption that anyone reading this book is taking human anatomy and physiology. You will still need your text, but more as a reference to pictures and such. This guide will give you the important information from the chapters, which will be what you are most likely to see on an exam. Sample questions will be included, which are also the most likely for you to see on an exam. Note also that this book is not a guide for A&P lab. An anatomy lab book is little more than a book with lots of pictures in it. That is what anatomy is, memorizing parts and pieces of the body. You simply look at the picture in your book and then learn those parts on a model. You may be looking at a skull, brain, kidney, etc., it is simple memorization. This book is more to help you with the lecture.

Anatomy and Physiology by OpenStax Pdf

This is part one of two for Anatomy and Physiology by OpenStax. Anatomy and Physiology is a dynamic textbook for the yearlong Human Anatomy and Physiology course taught at most two- and four-year colleges and universities to students majoring in nursing and allied health. A&P is 29 chapters of pedagogically effective learning content, organized by body system, and written at an audience-appropriate level. The lucid text, strategically constructed art, inspiring career features, and links to external learning tools address the critical teaching and learning challenges in the course. Color is used for pedagogical effect in A&P. Most art will consist of elegant black line, with the strongest line illustrating the most important structure(s) and shading used to show dimension and shape. Color (used only when needed) highlights and clarifies the primary anatomical or functional point of the illustration. Student focus is drawn to the most important learning point in each illustration, without distraction from excessive gradients, shadows, and loud highlights. The online book provides students with links to surgical videos, histology, interactive diagrams, and cadaver imagery at critical junctures. The images in this textbook are grayscale.

Making Anatomy and Physiology Easy by Tiffany James Pdf

WARNING!!!! This study tool will take the SCARY right out of introductory Anatomy and Physiology! Did you sign up for Anatomy and Physiology? Are you terrified yet? If so, join the masses of students each term who are terrorized by the very idea of taking such a daunting course. Go ahead, it's okay to scream...I'll wait. So where does this book come in? I wrote this book to show you that science does not have to be terrifying! It can be downright intriguing, better yet, empowering! That is, if you can get past all the high sounding jargon. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of high sounding technical vocabulary, but I believe that without understanding the basics at an everyday, relatable level, we can never achieve understanding of the complicated physiological concepts. This book will bring some of the more confusing concepts of introductory physiology down to a relatable, everyday level. It will give you the tools you need to grasp these concepts as you move on in your scientific or pre-professional upper level courses. This book is meant to be used as a supplement alongside your textbook as you maneuver through some of the more challenging physiological processes. Come on, RELAX, you can do this! Tiffany Shepley James is a Professor of Biology, wife and mother to two small girls. She holds a B.S. and M.S. in Biological and Environmental Science. She enjoys teaching at a community college in Georgia and has a passion for helping students fulfill their dreams of becoming healthcare professionals. Her goal has always been to bridge the gap between the Anatomy and Physiology courses and the application of that knowledge base in the real world. Having a lifelong love of science and medicine herself, she made it her mission to teach the complexities of Anatomy and Physiology in a way where college students can grasp concepts without fearing them. This method, which has proven successful in her courses, is the basis of the book, Making Anatomy and Physiology Easy.
