Intelligent Computer Techniques in Applied Electromagnetics by Slawomir Wiak,Andrzej Krawczyk,Ivo Dolezel Pdf

This book contains papers presented at the International Symposium on Elect- magnetic Fields in Mechatronics, Electrical and Electronic Engineering ISEF’07 which was held in Prague, the Czech Republic, from September 13 to 15, 2007. ISEF conferences have been organized since 1985 and from the very beginning it was a common initiative of Polish and other European researchers who have dealt with electromagnetic ?eld in electrical engineering. The conference travels through Europe and is organized in various academic centres. Relatively often, it was held in some Polish city as the initiative was on the part of Polish scientists. Now ISEF is much more international and successive events take place in different European academic centres renowned for electromagnetic research. This time it was Prague, famous for its beauty and historical background, as it is the place where many c- tures mingle. The venue of the conference was the historical building of Charles University, placed just in the centre of Prague. The Technical University of Prague, in turn, constituted the logistic centre of the conference. It is the tradition of the ISEF meetings that they try to tackle quite a vast area of computational and applied electromagnetics. Moreover, the ISEF symposia aim at combining theory and practice; therefore the majority of papers are deeply rooted in engineering problems, being simultaneously of a high theoretical level.

Applied Electromagnetism by Liang Chi Shen,Jin Au Kong Pdf

In their successful text, Shen and Kong cover fundamentals of static and dynamic electromagnetism fields and waves. The authors employ a unique approach, beginning with a study of Maxwell's equations and waves and covering electromagnetic fields later. This presentation allows students to work with electromagnetic concepts using relatively simple computational analysis, building in a logical progression to more complex topics and mathematical methods for analysis. The Third Edition provides computer-based problems, homework problems, end-of-chapter summaries, and a rich collection of real-world application examples that include discussion of cellular phone and microwave exposure limits set by IEEE; safety concerns about electromagnetic fields from power lines; new and powerful magnets; and single-mode optical fibers.

Fundamentals of Electromagnetics for Electrical and Computer Engineering by Nannapaneni Narayana Rao Pdf

Fundamentals of Electromagnetics for Electrical and Computer Engineering, First Edition is appropriate for all beginning courses in electromagnetics, in both electrical engineering and computer engineering programs. This is ideal for anyone interested in learning more about electromagnetics. Dr. N. Narayana Rao has designed this compact, one-semester textbook in electromagnetics to fully reflect the evolution of technologies in both electrical and computer engineering. This book's unique approach begins with Maxwell's equations for time-varying fields (first in integral and then in differential form), and also introduces waves at the outset. Building on these core concepts, Dr. Rao treats each category of fields as solutions to Maxwell's equations, highlighting the frequency behavior of physical structures. Next, he systematically introduces the topics of transmission lines, waveguides, and antennas. To keep the subject's geometry as simple as possible, while ensuring that students master the physical concepts and mathematical tools they will need, Rao makes extensive use of the Cartesian coordinate system. Topics covered in this book include: uniform plane wave propagation; material media and their interaction with uniform plane wave fields; essentials of transmission-line analysis (both frequency- and time-domain); metallic waveguides; and Hertzian dipole field solutions. Material on cylindrical and spherical coordinate systems is presented in appendices, where it can be studied whenever relevant or convenient. Worked examples are presented throughout to illuminate (and in some cases extend) key concepts; each chapter also contains a summary and review questions. (Note: this book provides a one-semester alternative to Dr. Rao's classic textbook for two-semester courses, Elements of Engineering Electromagnetics, now in its Sixth Edition.)

Advanced Computer Techniques in Applied Electromagnetics by Andrzej Krawczyk,Ivo Dolezel,Slawomir Wiak Pdf

The contributions in this publication on electromagnetic fields in electrical engineering aim at joining theory and practice, thus the majority of the papers are deeply rooted in engineering problems and simultaneously present a high theoretical level. There are three chapters in this volume, all divided into seven subchapters. Papers gathered in the first chapter are mainly devoted to physics of electromagnetic materials and mathematical approaches to electromagnetic problems. The next chapter contains apers dealing with numerical (or computer) analysis of electromagnetic devices and phenomena, whereas the last chapter reveals the world of engineering problems, showing how theoretical and methodological considerations can be transferred to real engineerng problems. The editors hope that this book will help the world-wide electromagnetic community, both academic and engineering, in better understanding electromagnetism itself and its application to technical problems.

Electromagnetic Fields in Electrical Engineering by A. Savini,J. Turowski Pdf

This book is the collection of the contributions offered at the International Symposium on Electromagnetic Fields in Electrical Engineering, ISEF '87, held in Pavia, Italy, in September 1987. The Symposium was attended by specialists engaged in both theoretical and applied research in low-frequency electromagnetism. The charming atmosphere of Pavia and its ancient university provided a very effective environment to discuss the latest results in the field and, at the same time, to enjoy the company or colleagues and friends coming from over 15 countries. The contributions have been grouped into 7 chapters devoted to fundamental problems, computer programs, transformers, rotating electrical machines, mechanical and thermal effects, various applications and synthesis, respectively. Such a classification is merely to help the reader because a few papers could be put in several chapters. Over the past two decades electromagnetic field computations have received a big impulse by the large availability of digital computers with better and better performances in speed and capacity. Many various methods have been developed but not all of them appear convenient enough for practical engineering use. In fact, the technical and industrial challenges set some principal attributes and criteria for good computation methods. They should be relatively easy to use, fit into moderately sized computers, yield useful design data, maintain flexibility with m1n1mum cost in time and effort.

Applied Electromagnetics and Electromagnetic Compatibility by Dipak L. Sengupta,Valdis V. Liepa Pdf

Applied Electromagnetics and Electromagnetic Compatibility deals with Radio Frequency Interference (RFI), which is the reception of undesired radio signals originating from digital electronics and electronic equipment. With today's rapid development of radio communication, these undesired signals as well as signals due to natural phenomena such as lightning, sparking, and others are becoming increasingly important in the general area of Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC). EMC can be defined as the capability of some electronic equipment or system to be operated at desired levels of performance in a given electromagnetic environment without generating EM emissions unacceptable to other systems operating in the vicinity.
