Path of the Golden Heart by Cindy Jarrett Pdf

Path Of The Golden Heart: Conscious Dating In An Unconscious World: the first book in Cindy Jarrett's Conscious Relationships Series is based on Cindy's pioneering work into the necessity for emotional maturity as the key for healthy and sustaining love relationships to succeed. It is an in-depth training that brings truth back into the dating process where single men and women can fully be their authentic selves while getting to know each other. It brings an end to the suffering that has long been associated with dating. It is a modern approach to dating that dispels the myths about the games in dating many authorities try to promote. This training brings single people the necessary education as to why love has become so difficult to attain and what stands in the way of effortlessly entering into love relationships. Readers are provided easy and accessible actions to take that makes Conscious Dating a welcomed relief. Love...what we all desire. It matters most to us and drives us to do the most courageous to craziest of things. Love is what gives us our supreme experiences and challenges. It is our most powerful expression. Love heals all things. And, love is our greatest teacher. Yet, love eludes us. It is everywhere and missing in so many hearts. We fear it. We run from it. We long for it. We deserve it. It is our birthright. And it is this desire for love that brings us to the dating ritual again and again. And, love is not enough. We need more than just love to build and sustain a healthy relationship. We also need commitment, clarity, honesty, character, an inner life, consistency, maturity, an open heart, forgiveness, training, guidance, consciousness, more maturity, healthy communications, sensitivity, have I said maturity yet, and much, much more. We don't usually relate to love or love relationships with maturity in mind. We don't necessarily declare that these elements are also what loving another requires.

The Courtship Novel, 1740-1820 by Katherine Sobba Green Pdf

The period from her first London assembly to her wedding day was the narrow span of autonomy for a middle-class Englishwoman in the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. For many women, as Katherine Sobba Green shows, the new ideal of companionate marriage involved such thoroughgoing revisions in self-perception that a new literary form was needed to represent their altered roles. That the choice among suitors ideally depended on love and should not be decided on any other grounds was a principal theme among a group of heroine-centered novels published between 1740 and 1820. During these decades, some two dozen writers, most of them women, published such courtship novels. Specifically aiming them at young women readers, these novelists took as their common purpose the disruption of established ideas about how dutiful daughters and prudent young women should comport themselves during courtship. Reading a wide range of primary texts, Green argues that the courtship novel was a feminized genre—written about, by, and for women. She challenges contemporary readers to appreciate the subtleties of early feminism in novels by Eliza Haywood, Mary Collyer, Charlotte Lennox, Samuel Richardson, Frances Brooke, Fanny Burney, Mary Wollstonecraft, Jane West, Mary Brunton, Maria Edgeworth, and Jane Austen—to recognize that these courtship novelists held in common a desire to reimagine the subject positions through which women understood themselves.

Religious Experience and the New Woman by Joanna Dean Pdf

In Religious Experience and the New Woman, Joanna Dean traces the development of liberal spirituality in the early 20th century through the life and work of Lily Dougall (1858--1923), a New Woman novelist who became known as a religious essayist and Anglican modernist. Dean examines the connections between Dougall's marginal position as a woman intellectual and her experiential, combatively iconoclastic theology, and demonstrates that through her writing and mentoring, Dougall contributed to the shaping of modern spirituality. Lily Dougall described religious experience -- the sense of the presence of God -- as the "rock" of her theology. Dean observes the protean nature of this rock as Dougall moved from a submissive holiness faith, to a mystical Mauricean sense of the Kingdom of God, to the relational theology of personal idealism, and reveals how psychology, which appeared to provide scientific support for her religious beliefs, eventually threatened to undermine her experiential faith.

The Next American Century by Nina Hachigian,Mona Sutphen Pdf

The rise of other global powers is most often posed as a sorry tale, full of threats to America's primacy, prosperity, and way of life. The potential loss of our #1 status implies a blow to our safety, economy, and prestige. But this is a rare moment in history: none of the world's big powers is our adversaries. In The Next American Century, Nina Hachigian and Mona Sutphen show that the "pivotal powers" -- China, Europe, India, Japan, and Russia -- seek greater influence, but each has an enormous stake in the world economy and a keen desire to thwart common threats. India is a key ally in the struggle against terrorism. China's help is essential to containing pandemic disease. Russia is leading an effort to keep nuclear devices out of terrorists' hands. Japan and Europe are critical partners in tackling climate change. None of these countries is a direct military or ideological challenger. In fact, their gains largely help, rather than hurt, America's continuing prosperity, growth, and, to some extent, even its values. Will we have conflicts with these powers? Definitely. Some will be serious. But, by and large, they want what we want: a stable world and better lives for their citizens. We live in an era of opportunity, not of loss. To take advantage of this moment, the United States must get its own house in order, making sure that American children can compete, American workers can adjust, America's military remains cutting-edge, and American diplomacy entices rather than alienates. While America must be prepared for the possibility that a hostile superpower may one day emerge, it has to be careful not to turn a distant, uncertain threat into an immediate one. Washington should welcome the pivotal powers into a vigorous international order to share the burden of solving pressing global problems of peace, climate, health, and growth. The avenue to a truly safer and more prosperous world runs through the pivotal powers. With them, we can build a world where Americans will thrive, today and tomorrow.
