Crimson Arrows by Eyad Yehyawi Pdf

Crimson Arrows: A Bowhunting Odyssey, is written from the heart and soul of a bowhunter. Spanning three decades of his adventures, Eyad Yehyawi takes you through the emotions, heartbreaks, and successes from his earliest years in Iowa, to physically and psychologically challenging backcountry hunts in Alaska and Canada, to a breathtaking African safari. Every setback and missed opportunity is revealed, along with the rewards earned through hard work and perseverance. Through these 27 stories, Eyad defines his passion for the outdoors, including the disappointments and mishaps, sleepless nights and tears, and a few instances where death comes calling. With intense descriptions of his surroundings, animal behavior, and imposing weather conditions, Eyad engages all of your senses as you share his adventures. Whether you long for giant whitetails and spring gobblers, are passionate to pursue mountain goats and moose in Alaska, dream of wading across the tundra for caribou, hope to stalk musk oxen in the Arctic, or aspire to trail a horse-killing cougar in the mountains of Alberta, you’ll find stories here to inspire you. As editor for Bowhunter magazine, I read thousands of manuscripts, and above all I loved discovering a nugget among the dozens of new writers who submitted manuscripts. Eyad Yehyawi was one of those. From the beginning, he wrote well and exuded enthusiasm for bowhunting. In his book, Crimson Arrows: A Bowhunting Odyssey, Yehyawi details his beginnings and growth as a bowhunter. He starts with whitetails and turkeys in his home state of Iowa and progresses to black bears, pronghorns, mule deer, elk, caribou, musk oxen, bison, and other species. All hunters can relate to his progression as a bowhunter and will find his stories compelling and fun to read. ~ Dwight Schuh ~ Former Editor, Bowhunter magazine and Member of the Bowhunters Hall of Fame

Breaking Into The Light by Cynthia A. Morgan Pdf

The Reviled are the enemy. They embody brutality in every form. The Fey of the Light know only too well how savage the Dark Fey can be and daring to think otherwise invites tragedy. Gairynzvl was once one of the Reviled and lived the riotous life of all Dark Ones, but his acceptance by The Fey of the Light has changed all that. Now, he is opposing The Reviled by returning into their dark realm and rescuing childfey. The actions taken by him and his band of Liberators are not only changing lives, they are fulfilling ancient prophecies and proving long-accepted beliefs inaccurate. Those who have lived in the Light all their lives are suddenly faced with unavoidable questions. How is peace achieved? Can Light unite with Darkness? Can all the atrocities the Dark Ones have inflicted really be forgiven? The Fey of the Light have a deadly choice to make: ignore the emerging truth or risk the tranquility of their realm and go to war to offer the Reviled a chance to change.

A Course of Severe and Arduous Trials by Lynn Brunet Pdf

The artist Francis Bacon (1909-1992) and the writer Samuel Beckett (1906-1989) both convey in their work a sense of foreboding and confinement in bleak, ritualistic spaces. This book identifies many similarities between the spaces and activities they evoke and the initiatory practices of fraternal orders and secret societies that were an integral part of the social landscape of the Ireland experienced by both men during childhood. Many of these Irish societies modelled their ritual structures and symbolism on the Masonic Order. Freemasons use the term 'spurious Freemasonry' to designate those rituals not sanctioned by the Grand Lodge. The Masonic author Albert Mackey argues that the spurious forms were those derived from the various cult practices of the classical world and describes these initiatory practices as 'a course of severe and arduous trials'. This reading of Bacon's and Beckett's work draws on theories of trauma to suggest that there may be a disturbing link between Bacon's stark imagery, Beckett's obscure performances and the unofficial use of Masonic rites.

The Sacketts 4-Book Bundle by Louis L'Amour Pdf

An epic spanning multiple generations in one frontier family, Louis L’Amour’s Sackett series is perhaps the crowning achievement of one of our greatest storytellers. Now, for the first time, the Sackett origin story is available as an eBook bundle featuring Sackett’s Land, To the Far Blue Mountains, The Warrior’s Path, and Jubal Sackett. These four novels chronicle the arrival of the patriarch on American soil and the unforgettable adventures of his sons as they strike out into the wilderness of a sprawling new land. SACKETT’S LAND After finding six gold Roman coins buried in an English swampland, Barnabas Sackett invests in goods to trade in America. But he also has a powerful enemy with a grudge that goes back to Sackett’s father. On the eve of his departure, Sackett is attacked and thrown into the hold of a pirate ship. After managing to escape, he makes his way to the Carolina coast, where the raw, abundant land promises a bright future. However, before that dream can be realized, Sackett must first discover the secret of his father’s legacy. TO THE FAR BLUE MOUNTAINS After returning to England, Barnabas Sackett discovers that finding his way back to America to make his fortune may be impossible. A warrant has been issued for his arrest and men are searching for him in every port. Believing that Sackett possesses a rare royal treasure, Queen Bess will stop at nothing to find him. If he’s caught, not only will his dream of a life in America be lost, but he will be brutally tortured and put to death on the gallows. THE WARRIOR’S PATH When Yance Sackett is called upon to rescue two kidnapped girls—one of whom is his wife’s young sister—he corrals his brother Kin and together they race north from Carolina to find her. Arriving at a small town rife with superstition, the brothers learn that someone very powerful was behind the girls’ abduction. To bring the culprit to justice, Kin sails to the exotic West Indies. There, among pirates, cutthroats, and ruthless “businessmen,” he will apply the skills he learned as a frontiersman to an unfamiliar world—where one false move means instant death. JUBAL SACKETT Jubal Sackett’s urge to explore has driven him westward, and when a Natchez priest asks him to undertake a nearly impossible quest, Sackett ventures into the endless grassy plains the Indians call the Far Seeing Lands. He seeks a Natchez exploration party and its leader, Itchakomi. It is she who will rule her people when their aging chief dies. But first she must vanquish her rival, the arrogant warrior Kapata. Sackett’s journey will bring him danger from an implacable enemy . . . and show him a life—and a woman—worth dying for.

The White Abacus by Damien Broderick Pdf

Long before William Shakespeare, tales were told of the Dane Ameleth whose noble father was murdered by the uncle who swiftly weds new widow Gerutha. Must Ameleth repay this crime by killing his uncle? The White Abacus dares to reconfigure the best known version of the classic tale, Shakespeare's Hamlet, to create a futuristic revenge drama with an entirely different outcome. Telmah is an inventive genius. Ophelia is no sobbing suicide but rather the impressive Warrior Rose, who shockingly revises the fate of her lover. In this exotic future history, the galaxy is open to anyone who passes through a hex gate, whether hu (augmented human) or ai (artificial mind). Telmah's close friend is the ai Ratio, newly embodied to the Real. Like all members of his asteroid tribe, Telmah is forbidden to use the hex transport system, since that would doom his rebirth. Out of this agonizing dilemma comes a feverish pursuit of truth and duty, love and near-madness, in an endlessly startling future where nothing turns out the way you expect.
