Crossings by Elam S. Kurtz,Michael D. Kurtz D. Min Pdf

DR. ELAM S. KURTZ WAS A MAN OF GREAT VISION, a man of deep faith, and a man of enormous energy. With these qualities, and more, God formed, fashioned, and refined a person, and a medical doctor, who had a profound and pervasive positive influence upon the many people whom his life touched and whom he served. To his patients he was known as Dr. Kurtz, or Doc. To his friends he was referred to as Elam. His family addressed him as Dad, or, in later years he was affectionately referred to as Pop. Pops eighty-six years of life yielded numerous transitions and changes in various areas and aspects of his living, or crossings as Dad alluded to these transitions. This book attempts to capture and share many of these crossings. Yet, more than relating just the actual crossings, the hope is that readers will discover in these pages inspiration and motivation for their own journey crossings. By reflecting upon how one of Gods children--Elam S. Kurtz--embraced the transitions and crossings of life with great vision, deep faith, and enormous energy, may we also learn, and put into practice, the great lessons of life, seeking to serve God and humankind with our very best.

Animating Black and Brown Liberation by Michael Datcher Pdf

Offers a new framework for reading American literatures that critically links African American and Latinx traditions and struggles for liberation. Animating Black and Brown Liberation introduces a vital new tool for reading American literatures. Rooted in both ancient Egyptian ideas about life and cutting-edge theories of animacy, or levels of aliveness, this tool—ankhing—enables Michael Datcher to examine the ways African American and Latinx literatures respond to and ultimately work to resist hegemonic forces of neoliberalism and state-sponsored oppression. Weaving together close readings and politically informed philosophical reflection, Datcher considers the work of writer-activists Toni Cade Bambara, Cherríe Moraga, Gloria Anzaldúa, June Jordan, Salvador Plascencia, and Ishmael Reed, in light of theoretical interventions by Jane Bennett, Mel Y. Chen, Bruno Latour, Michel Foucault, Paulo Freire, and Erica R. Edwards. How, he asks, can cultural production positively influence Black and Brown material conditions and mobilize collective action “off the page”? How can art-based counterpublics provide a foundation for Black and Brown community organizing? What emerges from Datcher’s innovative analysis is a frank assessment of the links between embodied experiences of racialization, as well as a distinctive vision of twentieth- and twenty-first-century American literature as a repository of emancipatory strategies with real-world applications. Michael Datcher is Assistant Professor of English at Loyola Marymount University. He is the author of several books, including Raising Fences.

Our Father's Business by Tina Williams-Koroma Pdf

The subtitle of this book is "Pick up the Mission, Then Drop the Mic." This book walks you through the life of Christ with a primary focus on the book of Luke in the Bible. It provides wisdom from Jesus' life as He lived out Our Father's business. Although this book is divided by topic, it largely maintains the chronology of events as they are captured in the book of Luke. The inspiration for this book came as result of many personal experiences. Being about our Father's business is bigger than any title in life. Professionally, I am an entrepreneur, an adjunct instructor, an attorney, a board director and officer, and many other titles. Personally, I am a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a poet, an athlete. We all have many titles, but above all of these, there is a business, a mission, we have each been assigned to carry out. This book is written to remind and encourage you and me to "pick up the mission, then drop the mic." Picking up the mission refers to "bear[ing] [your] cross, and com[ing] after [Christ]." Dropping the mic refers to when a speaker or artist is on a stage, and says something so profound and final, leaving nothing else to be said afterwards. This is how our lives should be lived "" with such profundity that when our time on this earth is over, we can say, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith," our physical death being our "drop the mic" moment. The specific challenges we face in deciding to answer God's call on our lives will be different for each of us. Some of the most difficult decisions will be choices between good (our plans) and best (God's plans for us). It is my prayer that you read this book and "pick up the mission" so that at the end of your life, you can "then drop the mic!" Click here to access the author's website!

I Exist in All Planes at the Same Time by Carl Alexander-Reindorf,Floria Alexander-Reindorf Pdf

THE TREE OF LIFE WHICH YOU WERE DEPRIVED OF IS THE WORD OF GOD, THE TEACHING OF GOD. If Adam and Eve had received these types of teachings when they were in the Garden of Eden, they would not have died. THE FRUIT OF LIFE IS THE WORD OF GOD. This is explained in John 15:1-6. THE TREE OF LIFE IS THE WORD OF GOD WHICH YOU MUST EAT. MAN SHOULD ENDEAVOR TO GAIN ETERNAL LIFE THROUGH THE WORD OF GOD. John 12:48-50. Do you know that my teachings will give you everlasting life? THE FRUIT OF LIFE IS NO OTHER THING THAN THE GOSPEL WHICH I GIVE YOU. EVERYTHING YOU NEED IS EMBEDDED IN THESE TEACHINGS. MY TEACHINGS HAVE TWELVE DIFFERENT TYPES OF FRUIT WHICH STAND FOR THE TWELVE POWERS OF MAN. (ByLeader Olumba Olumba Obu)
