Dear _____, Lovely, Lovely Soul by Marc L. Militello Pdf

A book of over 100 love letters written in poetic form. Unsent letters written to an unnamed individual or thought only known as Lovely, Lovely Soul. An idea sparked from A.R. Gurney's Love Letters play only letters never sent. The trials and spilled ink thoughts fighting depression, anxiety, adolescent love, inward torture, and fighting through painful thoughts many of us can relate to by putting pen to paper. If you enjoyed "the words I wish I said" by Caitlin Kelly you should find this compilation enjoyable. I started writing these letters back in 1997 after I moved away from New Jersey out to Arizona for school. While taking what I had for granted, I did not believe that my childhood was... shall we say, "the best?" Moving away meant a fresh start, a new life, freedom. Getting as far away from the small, one square mile town I grew up in and out into the wider world where I always felt like I was meant for bigger and brighter things. I craved that freedom and could not wait for it. But a few mere months before I was destined to leave... something tragic happened. I, in my unlearned youth, discovered the sensation of what I believed to be, "Love". It ended up being so fleeting as my time was so short before departure to the desert. Heartbreak was inevitable. It was the first of many that would happen in my life and I would go on to develop this concept of a small light... willow wisp like. Always bouncing from one girl to the next. Getting close, but always fleeing right at the moment when it was about to be captured. It seemed like a repelling magnet getting just close enough for an attraction before flipping and bounding away from a certain distance. Changing its poles once again and becoming attractive. That seemed to be the metaphor to me of what "Love" meant to me and what it would be for my remaining days. The wisp always moving, teasing, getting closer, and running away. "Catch me if you can" it would haunt. "Catch me if you can" and like the fool, I was destined to be, I would continue to chase. I have finally compiled these poems if you will, which I wrote off and on for the last 20+ years. While I know my style in some of them work, and others fall very short of publishable work, it is my life crafted on paper that I felt compelled to share. Knock something off the bucket list, if you will. Not just that, however, more to share with those out there that can relate. Understand and realize that you are not alone even in the moments when you look around and only darkness is staring back at you. Time does heal and as we mature in life we learn to appreciate fleeting moments and understand that sometimes things do happen for a reason. Whether you push your wisp away or it flees on its own, it's always on the horizon. While its warmth might get cold, its light still shines bright and waits for you to "catch it if you can". Enjoy as you may.

Metanoia Of Memories by Multiple Pdf

When we say the very word memories, we tend to become nostalgic and, in some cases, bitter sad. They evoke the most potent emotions deep within us. They have the absolute power to transform a person from nothing to everything and vice versa. That is why the term "Metanoia", the atonement or spiritual conversion, creates a rise in one's way of living. Memories are the only ones that are powerful to evoke such an experience and felling oneself. To make or break one completely. We thought it would be interesting to collect voices of the many on the same theme and present them in a book that carries both the wisdom and a special part of each of the contributors to the world. Thus, came this book 'Metanoia of Memoires' of peoples from different walks of life beyond barriers across the country.

On the Heights by Berthold Auerbach Pdf

Early mass was being celebrated in the chapel attached to the royal summer palace. The palace stood on a slight eminence in the center of the park. The eastern slope of the hill had been planted with vineyards, and its crest was covered with mighty, towering beeches. The park abounded with maples, plane-trees and elms, with their rich foliage, and firs of various kinds, while the thick clusters of needles on the fir-leaved mountain pine showed that it had become acclimated. On grassy lawns there were solitary tall pines of perfect growth. A charming variety of flowers and leaf plants lent grace to the picture which, in all its details, showed evidence of artistic design and exquisite taste. The paths were neatly kept. The flowers were sparkling with the dews of morning; birds were singing and the air was laden with the fragrant perfume of the new-mown grass. Swans, and rare varieties of ducks from foreign lands, were swimming in the large lake, on the banks of which the bright-hued flamingo might also have been seen. The fountain in the center of the lake sent its waters to such a height that they were lost in spray. A clear mountain brook, running between alders and weeping-willows, and under many a rustic bridge, emptied into the lake, flowing thence through the valley until it reached the river, bright glimpses of which might here and there be caught through openings in the shrubbery. Tables, chairs and benches of graceful form had been placed under the trees and at various points that commanded a fine prospect. Seated near the chapel there was a man of impressive appearance. His dress betokened scrupulous care. His thick hair was as white as his cravat. His eyes were blue and sparkling, and full of youthful fire. He looked out upon the broad landscape, the valley crowded with fruit-trees, the near-lying hills, and the mountain beyond, whose lines stood out in bold relief against the blue sky above. He had a book in his hand, but now laid it aside and drank in the peaceful influences of the scene before him....

Written on Water by Takashi Kojima Pdf

This collection of classical poetry was selected from the Man'yoshu—the oldest and most important collection of Japanese poetry. Despair and hope are two emotions commonly voiced by poets in the Man'yoshu. Although written over thirteen hundred years ago, the poems retain a rare freshness, an originality that delights and fascinates even today. Part of the collection's originality is due to its variety of authors, from members of the aristocracy to commoners from the lowest ranks. The poems cover a wide range of content and expression, from court poets' highly polished verses to anonymous poems that read like folk songs. Poems about love are common but the treatment of love varies from anguished pinning to wondrous celebration to bitter denunciation. What the various Man'yo poems do have in common is emotional fire, amazing candor, and eloquent expression of feeling not found in later Japanese poetry. It is these characteristics that have earned the Man'yoshu a constant and devoted readership over the centuries.
