Applied Cerebral Angiography by Gianni Boris Bradac Pdf

This book offers detailed guidance on the diagnostic use of cerebral angiography based on precise description of the angiographic appearances of normal anatomy and pathological conditions. In this third edition, every chapter has been thoroughly revised and enlarged to reflect new knowledge and experiences, and more attention is paid to the correlations between anatomopathological findings and clinical manifestations. Beyond explaining the diagnostic value of cerebral angiography, a key aim is to equip readers with the precise knowledge of the anatomy of cerebral vessels required for optimal application of endovascular therapy of pathologies involving the arteries and veins of the brain. As in preceding editions, the book is divided into two parts. The first part describes the normal anatomy, with attention to morphological aspects, embryological development, function, and vascular territories. The intraorbital and extracranial vascularization is also fully considered. The knowledge provided will serve as a sound basis for the correct interpretation of pathological processes and their clinical significance, as covered in depth in the second part of the book.

Cerebral Angiography by Gianni Boris Bradac Pdf

Cerebral Angiography is a comprehensive and well-illustrated guide to the diagnostic use of cerebral angiography. The first part of the book depicts in detail the normal appearance of the cerebral vessels on angiographic studies. Sound knowledge of this normal vascular anatomy and clinical function is vital for correct interpretation of the clinical significance of the pathological processes addressed in the second part of the book. The latter include vascular abnormalities, including angiomas, fistulas, and aneurysms; atherosclerotic and non-atherosclerotic stenosis and occlusion of the cerebral vessels; and venous thrombosis. In each case, both typical and atypical appearances are presented. While the emphasis throughout is on the diagnostic value of cerebral angiography, a number of examples of endovascular treatment are also included to highlight the evolving possibilities of therapy and the role of cerebral angiography in treatment selection.

Cerebral Angiography by Gianni Boris Bradac Pdf

This revised and enlarged edition of Cerebral Angiography, which includes new angiographic studies and illustrative drawings, offers detailed guidance on diagnostic use of the procedure. The first part of the book describes the normal anatomy of the cerebral arteries and veins, with attention to morphological aspect, embryological development, function and vascular territories. The intraorbital and extracranial vascularization is also considered. The reader will gain a sound knowledge of normal vascular anatomy and its variations that will serve as a basis for the correct interpretation of pathological processes and their clinical significance, as covered in the second part of the book. Among the pathologies considered are vascular abnormalities, including angiomas, fistulas and aneurysms; atherosclerotic and non-atherosclerotic stenosis and occlusion of the cerebral vessels; venous thrombosis; intraorbital and extracranial vascular malformations. Pathogenesis, morphological and dynamic aspects, responsible for clinical symptoms and influencing the therapy are described. While the emphasis throughout is on the diagnostic value of cerebral angiography, many examples of endovascular treatment in different pathological situations are also presented, with discussion of indications, risks and results.

Trends in Cerebrovascular Surgery by Tetsuya Tsukahara,Alberto Pasqualin,Giuseppe Esposito,Luca Regli,Giampietro Pinna Pdf

This volume provides an overview of new concepts in neurovascular interventions based on clinical and scientific knowledge of cerebrovascular disorders. It especially focuses on subarachnoid hemorrhage and cerebrovascular malformations, e.g. aneurysms, arterio-venous malformations, and cavernomas. A separate part addresses cerebral revascularization for both complex aneurysms and ischemia. All contributions were written by recognized experts and cover original papers presented at the 7th European Japanese Stroke Surgery Conference, held in Verona, Italy in June 2014. The authors present new trends and strategies for managing emerging problems, as well as in-depth discussions on controversial issues in the field.

Vascular Imaging of the Central Nervous System by Joana Ramalho,Mauricio Castillo Pdf

The first book-length reference to thoroughly describe diagnostic and therapeutic advances in the development of vascular radiology over the last decade The last ten years has seen vascular imaging of the central nervous system (CNS) evolve from fairly crude, invasive procedures to more advanced imaging methods that are safer, faster, and more precise—with computed tomographic (CT) and magnetic resonance (MR) imaging methods playing a special role in these advances. Vascular Imaging of the Central Nervous System is the first full-length reference text that shows radiologists—especially neuroradiologists—how to optimize the use of the many techniques available in order to increase the sensitivity and specificity of vascular imaging, thereby improving the diagnosis and treatment of individual patients. Each chapter is formatted carefully and divided into two essential parts: The first part describes the physical principles underlying each imaging technique, along potential associated artifacts and pitfalls; the second part addresses clinical applications and novel applications of each method. With a strong focus on the clinical application of each modality or technique in CNS radiology, this book provides in-depth chapter coverage of: • Ultrasound Vascular Imaging (UVI) • Computed Tomography Angiography (CTA) • Magnetic Resonance Vascular imaging (MRV) • Digital subtraction angiography (DSA) • Brain perfusion techniques: CT and MRI • Plaque imaging • Intravascular imaging • Pediatric vascular imaging Along with numerous illustrations and case studies, Vascular Imaging of the Central Nervous System: Physical Principles, Clinical Applications, and Emerging Techniques is an important book for those faced with choosing from the wide range of choices available for clinical practice.

Angiography in Cerebro-Arterial Occlusive Diseases by G.B. Bradac,R. Oberson Pdf

Although it may seem a rash, even ill-conceived, undertaking to devote a mono graph to cerebral angiography at a time when CT seems to be the most important neuroradiologic procedure, this is definitely not the case. Moreover, the authors are aware of the necessity of taking these new techniques into account. Cerebro-arterial occlusive diseases are frequently the cause of acute and chro nic neurologic disturbances. The authors' aim in preparing this book was to demonstrate the value of neuroradiology in the diagnosis of these conditions. They have accomplished their purpose, and above all, they have succeeded in demonstrating how angiography and CT complement each other. They point out the absolute necessity of high quality in angiographic imaging; indeed, arterial occlusive diseases may have a very capricious and unexpected evolution that can be followed-up by iterative CT examinations - for instance once a week - but angiography, which is performed only once, must be as perfect and informative as possible. Both authors received part of their training in the Neuroradiologic Depart ment of the University Hospital in Strasbourg. I am thus very pleased to find in this book both the perfection I was accustomed to seeing in G. B. BRADAc's iconography and the sound judgement I always appreciated in R. OBERSON. Therefore, it is with great satisfaction that I write this foreword. It is my wish that both authors achieve the recognition they rightfully deserve in the Univer sities of Berlin and of Lausanne.
