Anne Among Us by Rob Guinan Pdf

FEATURED ON EWTN! A FATHER'S ANGUISH! ANNE, A CHILD OF MISCARRIAGE, LEAVES A REAL MARK ON A FAMILY. A VERY RARE "MALE" PERSPECTIVE! "An outstanding pro-life story." Catholic Kindle Review. "The author has appeared in both national and international interviews.""Few works have ever been composed to focus on the effects of a miscarriage on the father of a child...'ANNE AMONG US' (will) advance your appreciation for the bond shared between a father and his unborn child. The author, Rob Guinan, extricates the phenomena of this experience with clarity and heartfelt emotion!"--FR. FRANK PAVONE, PRIESTS FOR LIFE, National Director, President, National Pro-life Religious CouncilFor babies lost through miscarriage there is often no public mourning. Doctors may dismiss the validity of the life and extended family might not understand at all. But the parents know. It is the death of their child. The loss is quiet and painful. It's as if these children were never with us. They leave this world unknown and often unnamed. "Anne Among Us" challenges this notion.Read how even the shortest of lives can leave a lasting impression. This passionate account shares the fear and the drama of an unplanned pregnancy, a tragic miscarriage, and from the outset a lack of trust. "Anne was in every sense among us for that short time. She was at our dinner table. She no doubt felt the presence of her brothers and sisters. She joined us on car rides. She made trips to the store with us. She went to church with us. She joined in the rhythms of our everyday lives. And now she won't let us forget her." "OUR LOST CHILDREN ARE 'INDEED' STILL WITH US! ROB GUINAN OFFERS SOME UNIQUE INSIGHTS ON HEAVEN FROM SCRIPTURE AND CATECHESIS. THERE ARE GREAT REASONS FOR HOPE!"

Abortion and Social Responsibility by Laurie Shrage Pdf

Shrage argues that Roe v Wade's regulatory scheme of a six-month time span for abortion on demand polarized the public and obscured alternatives with potentially broader support. She explores the origins of that scheme, then defends an alternate one--with a time span shorter than 6 months for non-therapeutic abortions--that could win broad support needed to make legal abortion services available to all women.

"A Third Reich, as I See It" by Janosch Steuwer Pdf

With the beginning of the National Socialist dictatorship, Germany not only experienced a deep political turning point but the private life of Germans also changed fundamentally. The Nazi regime had far-reaching ideas about how the individual should think and act. In "A Third Reich, as I See It" Janosch Steuwer examines the private diaries of ordinary Germans written between 1933 and 1939 and shows how average citizens reacted to the challenges of National Socialism. Some felt the urge and desire to adapt to the political circumstances. Others felt compelled to do so. They all contributed to the realization of the vision of a homogeneous, conflict-free, and "racially pure" society. In a detailed manner and with a convincing sense of the bigger picture, Steuwer shows how the tense efforts of people to fit in, and at the same time to preserve existing opinions and self-conceptions, led to a close intertwining of the private and the political. "A Third Reich, as I See It" offers a surprisingly new look at how the ideological visions of National Socialism found their way into the everyday reality of Germans.

From the Heart of a Prairie Farm Wife by Maurine Becotte Pdf

Maurine Becotte was born and raised in the farming community of Cut Knife Saskatchewan. She was the eldest daughter of Irwin and Margaret Duvall. Her dream was to become a veterinarian, but young women of her time did not become veterinarians so she followed "Societies Rules" and become a school teacher. After a few short years of teaching school Maurine met and married a true farmer, Emile Becotte, of the Seagram District. Together they raised their family of eight children on a mixed farm in the Baldwinton Area of Saskatchewan. They grew a variety of grain crops, but their passion was the herd of purebred Angus cattle that the built from meager beginnings. As their children we were not quite sure which meant more to them; the beautiful black cows that we all came to love or us as children. Neither one lacked for love or attention. Times were hard on the farm and there was always work to be done. Maurine always found time to create fun and joy in life for family, friends and neighbors. She always had the coffee pot on and time to chat with all who passed thru our yard. On one occasion a native family passed through in a horse drawn wagon and the young mother asked for some fresh water. Maurine being the kind person she was gave them the fresh water and a jar of fresh cows milk for the infant child. Some months later that same young woman thanked Mom again for her generosity. Maurine began writing poetry while attending college in 1940, and she continued to write throughout her life. Her poetry is highlighted with ideas that came from everyday life -- the beauties of nature, the love of family and community, the dedication to farm life in Saskatchewan, history, politics and war. In the 1970's and 1980's Maurine and two daughters compiled six volumes of her poetry under the name of Housewife Harmony Volumes 1 through 6. Maurine wrote poetry for some fifty plus years before ill health took away her capacity to write. She died in March, 1996, without achieving her one great wish to see her poetry published in one complete book. This book is the fulfillment of that dream. Rather than use Housewife Harmony as a title, I have chosen to call the book "From the Heart of a Prairie Farm Wife" because Mom truly wrote from the heart. The following pages will unveil the ability Maurine had in the stroke of the pen.

The Unborn Child by Simon House,Roy Ridgway Pdf

The Unborn Child is essential reading for parents, potential parents and grandparents, as well as professionals with responsibility for children, and bringing babies into the world. This book describes prenatal and perinatal development, considering the legacy of health from both parents and grandparents. It explores the effects of the mother's mental and physical state during pregnancy, on the physiology and psychology of her expected child. The earlier in a child's development, beginning paradoxically before conception, that the wisdom of experience and science is applied, the greater the chances of a child's mental and physical health for life. Understanding these issues offers a way of healing early problems that contribute to such disorders as depression or compulsive behaviour. Here are invaluable guidelines towards generating children with their full genetic potential for basic health and emotional stability. This fascinating book is rooted in the experience of both authors, complete with authoritative case studies and scientific references. It has been extensively updated and restructured by the author, who has added entirely new material on nutrition from before conception.
