Double Homicide by John Coston Pdf

Two riveting true crime sagas—of a mother who murdered her two sons, and a sex-crazed serial killer who terrorized Montana—together in one volume. In this terrifying collection, veteran reporter and former Wall Street Journal editor John Coston recounts the disturbing crimes of Ellen Boehm and Wayne Nance, two seemingly ordinary citizens who killed for the most twisted and selfish reasons. Sleep, My Child, Forever: Single mom Ellen Boehm appeared to be a devoted mother. But in reality, she was unequipped for motherhood, financially strapped, and desperate. Within a year of each other, her sons, ages two and four, died mysteriously, and Boehm’s eight-year-old daughter suffered a near-fatal accident when a hair dryer fell into the girl’s bath. Det. Sgt. Joseph Burgoon of St. Louis Homicide soon unraveled a labyrinth of deception, greed, and obsession that revealed a cold-blooded killer whose get-rich-quick scheme came at the cost of her children’s lives. To Kill and Kill Again: To neighbors, Wayne Nance appeared to be an affable, considerate, and trustworthy guy. No one knew that he was the “Missoula Mauler,” a psychopath responsible for a series of sadistic sex slayings that rocked the idyllic town between 1974 and 1986. His victims included a preacher’s wife, a teenage runaway, and a female acquaintance. Then, one September night, Nance pushed his luck, preying on a couple that lived to tell the tale.

The Double Homicide by Damon Laurent Agobe Pdf

The Double Homicide offers an autobiographical work in which the author seeks to relay a journal of memories of unexplained events, and deaths related to sorcery practices in and around his home village, Bossou in the Ivory Coast. He opens with an introduction of the disguised crimes in which the victims do not see their assailants, as opposed to the open crime where the criminal uses a weapon. He asserts that God made some of his power available to human, to be utilized positively and creatively for the good of all. It was not meant to be used negatively and deviously by associating it with evil spirits, and transforming it into sorcery, and witchcraft, and using it to kill and destroy others' properties and blessings like it is today. He sites bibliographical references from the book of Genesis to back his idea that, evil that we are victims of, or the practice of sorcery that we are experiencing today, is not new; it all evolved when mankind fell into sin after being induced into it by the devil, taking advantage of man's naivete; then corrupting the world henseforth. "But there is hope, and I am optimistic that, in the name of Jesus, the world will get back its mormacy" He continues and explains how a driver named Goubo was thwarted in his marriage plans with the chief's daughter by unseen forces and mistaken events. The story unfolds and shows how Kolongou, one of the chief's sons was sacrificed, and sent to go hunting with Goubo. Kolongou was prepared mystically to be transformed into a deer once in the bush, and be killed, such as; using a small fish to catch a trout. In the Double Homicide, the author's tale reveals that death, no matter where and how it occurs, is ever perceived naturally as the end of life cycle. His descriptions of rituals, ceremonies, and ideologies, central to West African Culture, are designed to augment the scope and tone of this chronicle.

A Double Murder in Eastern Ohio by D. J. Cotten Pdf

The book deals with the criminal mind and why some people do the things they do. It is mostly about psychology and why some people turn out to be self-centered egomaniacs not caring for others as long as they get their gratification such as the two sons of a woman who wanted her to sign everything she has over to them and then be interned in some nursing home where she would most probably be abused by stall members not to mention the negligence. A month and half earlier, she suffered a debilitating stroke, but neither one of her sons came to see her in the hospital and never once called her to find out how she was. As the two sons were growing up, she and her husband became increasingly disappointed in them. The woman prayed for then to become less self-centered, but to no avail. She eventually became an atheist as did her husband. Another subject the book deals with is obsession and how it motivates some people do bodily harm as well as perpetrating murder. Finally, it deals with why some people act the way they do due to their upbringing such as why a nurse turned on her mother because her mother favored her older sister.

99 Months: The Case of the Sydney Double Murders by Ram Tiwary Pdf

Sydney’s most sensational murder case to date! On 15 September 2003, two Singaporean students at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Tony Tan Poh Chuan and Tay Chow Lyang, were brutally murdered in their apartment. More than eight months later, their housemate and fellow Singaporean, Ram Tiwary, was arrested for their murders. Although Ram proclaimed innocence, he was found guilty in 2006 and sentenced to life imprisonment. A successful appeal overturned the conviction and awarded him a retrial, which also resulted in a guilty verdict in 2009. But just two days after the second appeal in 2012, the New South Wales Court of Criminal Appeal overturned the 2009 conviction and acquitted him. He was released after spending 99 months in maximum security jail. What happened in the courtroom that compelled the most senior judges in the state to overturn two murder convictions within a day of the hearings? From the police claims of 'losing' evidence from evidence safes, revelations in the courtroom that the DPP had hidden crucial evidence from its own expert witnesses, solid leads that were inexplicably abandoned, detectives seemingly caught lying under oath and the Crown's theory of naked assassins, this is Ram's story of the 99 months that have left us with more questions than answers.

Murder At The Fort by Bob Marmion Pdf

Early one cold, wintry morning in late May 1942, the bullet-ridden body of Driver Roy Willis was found on the side of the road. He had been shot a number of times with a military revolver. Despite extensive enquiries by some of the Victoria Police’s most experienced homicide detectives, the murderer was not found. Then three months later, the killer struck again. In September 1942 Gunner John Hulston went missing whilst on guard duty. His gun crew immediately began a search. Two soldiers followed what appeared to be drag marks from the gate down towards the beach. They saw a figure some way off and thinking it was Hulston, they called out to him. Instead of a friendly reply, they were met with a barrage of bullets. The figure ran off and disappeared towards the camp. Incredibly the garrison was not turned out to search for the missing man or the mysterious figure. The searchlights which could have turned the night into day along the beach, were not activated. Hulston’s rifle and bayonet were found in the water. His torn trousers were also found on the beach. His body was eventually recovered further along the coastline, 10 days later. Like Driver Willis, back in May, he had also been shot in the chest with a .455 calibre army revolver. As with any good murder mystery, this story has more twists and turns than the Great Ocean Road. They range from black market operations, confessions, suspects identified in later years, lost or missing police files, disagreements between the police and the army over the investigation, and an attempted cover-up that went all the way to the wartime Deputy Prime Minister’s office.

The Billionaire Murders by Kevin Donovan Pdf

NATIONAL BESTSELLER A top journalist crosses the yellow tape to investigate a shocking high-society crime. Billionaires, philanthropists, socialites . . . victims. Barry and Honey Sherman appeared to lead charmed lives. But the world was shocked in late 2017 when their bodies were found in a bizarre tableau in their elegant Toronto home. First described as murder-suicide — belts looped around their necks, they were found seated beside their basement swimming pool — police later ruled it a staged, targeted double murder. Nothing about the case made sense to friends of the founder of one of the world’s largest generic pharmaceutical firms and his wife, a powerhouse in Canada’s charity world. Together, their wealth has been estimated at well over $4.7 billion. There was another side to the story. A strategic genius who built a large generic drug company — Apotex Inc. — Barry Sherman was a self-described workaholic, renowned risk-taker, and disruptor during his fifty-year career. Regarded as a generous friend by many, Sherman was also feared by others. He was criticized for stifling academic freedom and using the courts to win at all costs. Upset with building issues at his mansion, he sued and recouped millions from tradespeople. At the time of his death, Sherman had just won a decades-old legal case involving four cousins who wanted 20 percent of his fortune. Toronto Star investigative journalist Kevin Donovan chronicles the unsettling story from the beginning, interviewing family members, friends, and colleagues, and sheds new light on the Shermans’ lives and the disturbing double murder. Deeply researched and authoritative, The Billionaire Murders is a compulsively readable tale of a strange and perplexing crime.
